About: My husband and I always had a pack of rescues. Large, small, sick, old. We had no children so our pets were our children. My husband passed away and I recently just lost my last fur baby. I want to travel a bit so pet sitting is going to be my substitute for a while. I love cats but unfortunately I'm highly allergic. I currently work remotely but will be retiring shortly. My daily routine is wide open. I've always had one or more dogs so my routine has always been focused on their care. My last 3 were older boys with medical conditions so my life was focused on their care. I can accommodate crates or not, whatever your babies need. I do not have a fenced in yard so when they go outside they will always be on a leash.

About: I have cared for my grand dogs and friends’ dogs for years. Our whole family will shower your dog with love and attention! We love to send pictures of the dogs having fun or napping on the couch! I am a stay at home, home-schooling mom who has lots of time in our home to care for your dog. We are home most of the time available to give your dog all the attention they need. I have a fenced in yard. My kids love to make friends with dogs that we have watched. We have a large dog crate available if your dog is crate trained. We take their care very seriously and follow owners requests and directions.
“Joshua watched Stella for 4 nights. He took wonderful care of her. We had a great experience. He sent daily updates and gave us such peace of mind during my daughter’s wedding week. Reliable, communicative and trust worthy, I truly appreciate all his help and would highly recommend him.”

“Our dog is a lover and he was well taken care of. He received lots of love and attention which made his stay all that much better. We loved all the photos! Thanks so much Laura for taking such great care of our furbaby! He was in the best of hands while we were away!!”

“Kshama was very nice my dog seemed very happy upon return. While we were out of town she sent many great photos of Sam and was in clear communication daily. This booking was actually the perfect fit for our senior dog Sam as well as her sweet dog, Zeus. Our dog Sam had previously been attacked by a larger dog on leash before and became more aggressive and on edge. So I was a little nervous to have them meet but her dog was so gentle, gave space and really matched my dogs (calmer) energy level. Sam enjoyed the socialization even in the fenced in backyard with the dogs next door I saw from the photos lol. We will definitely book again in the future :-)!”

“We were a first time Rover user. Our meet and greet was successful and we felt that Katie would take care of our baby. Lucky is older and has health issues but that wasn't an issue with Katie. Our dog got along very well with her and her dog so we felt comfortable enough to let him have a sleep over there. Katie knew we were helicopter parents so she made sure to keep us posted on how he was doing and that he got his meds along with many pictures showing him relaxed and enjoying his new friends. The next morning we picked up one tired but happy baby. He slept a lot when he got home but that means he had fun. We recommend Katie as she was great with our baby.”

“We did a meet and greet initially. Mary kept us informed of Hunter and how he was doing as we started the process. She was excellent and Hunter seemed to enjoy himself once he was settled. Thank you Mary!”

“Amazing!! Our doodle loves going to Kellie’s to hangout with her doodle and her kiddos. She does a great job accommodating and keeping us updated with pics. We’ve used her twice now and will continue to do so!”

“I appreciate Mou and Yanling because they did a wonderful job caring for my Belly Belle! They regularly sent photos and videos of my furbaby. She returned home as happy as the day she arrived to them.”

“Deena took great care of our pup while we were on vacation and was flexible and accommodating when we had significant travel delays. It was such a relief to know that our pup was being loved and cared for while we were away. We received daily updates and pictures. We will definitely be using Deena’s services again.”

“Dawn has been our go-to dogsitter for a couple years now and she is so great! I love that Rose has a familiar place to stay when we are out of town and she always comes back happy.”
“Katrina is excellent pet sitter. I was able to do a meet and greet before the sitting. She had good communication and flexibility to make that meeting happen. She was very patient and helpful with me and all the booking, since I am new to the system. During the sitting Katrina was very good updating us with the right amount of comments and pictures about how our dog was doing. Our dog came home relaxed and happy, clearly Katrina took well care of him. Katrina's own down is similar in size and breed to our dog, so the possibility to a playmate during the sitting was a nice surprise. We recommend Katrina 100% and we will have her in our roster for future pet sitting needs.”

“Evelyn is amazing!! My husband and I were out of town for a week and I did not have to worry one bit about leaving our pup, Summer Shandy! Evelyn constantly sent updates and pictures, she was always available for questions or updates on our end as well. Summer Shandy had a wonderful time and loved Evelyn and her pets as well. If you need a sitter in the St. Clair Shores area, book Evelyn!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
