“This was my first time using Rover for my pet Shelby. I was pretty lucky to find a great pet sitter, Jenna was fantastic. She has a wonderful puppy friendly home and is very knowledgeable and loving with animals. I'm grateful my puppy was in good hands.”

“I think Shivambika did a very good job with my 7 lb. Yorkshire Terrier. She learned about and respected some of his breed’s idiosyncrasies. She took him into her yard, on a leash, & to a nearby trail. No doubt he loved that. It was my fault that he had to be exposed to another dog for his last 3 days, as I initially got my return date wrong . But he dealt with that pretty well, it seems.”

“Miranda watched our two huskies again and they had a blast! She sent us pics of them and made sure they were taken care of and definitely were worn out by the time they got home. I would recommend her to anyone!”
“Ora is a good sitter. She sent frequent pictures of Loki and updates about him everyday. I will definitely consider her again for next time if she is available. Thank you Ora!”

“When I say my FurBaby was well cared for- he was!! They took exceptional care of Hendrixx. They sent numerous videos everyday- which I loved and appreciated. I highly recommend Mou and Yanling. I definitely will be using them for all of my boarding and sitting needs for Hendrixx.”

“Lisa is my first Rover sitter and she was amazing! She kept me updated every day with super cute pictures of River and I was able to see how happy he was in her home. She has a really nice and spacious set up for dogs to run around which River truly enjoyed.”

“Samantha & Zach are amazing. They’re are amazing with their communication about your furry friend. My dog Titus always gets excited going there would definitely recommend their services.”

“Brittany was amazing with our Teddy! She and her husband took great care of him while my husband and I got married. She sent so many adorable pictures and he had a great time with the other dogs & Brittany’s family! We would recommend her to anyone! It’s difficult to find people you can trust with your dogs, but Brittany & her husband have our trust! We will gladly have them watch Teddy anytime we need!”

“Lindsay was our first experience with Rover and she exceeded our expectations. She was wonderful from the start. She answered and explained all of our questions throughly. We loved the daily updates of pics and also text of how he was doing. We absolutely will be sharing her as a recommendation with others as well as planning to book her this summer again too!”

“Wow, all I can say is that Steven is AWESOME. I was afraid to leave my dogs with Steven because he watches multiple dogs together and my dogs are not good with other dogs. To my surprise, Steven sent me a video of my two dogs walking around the yard with multiple other dogs and not fighting but actually getting along. I could not believe this. As Steven informed me during the meet and greet that the only one that was worried was me and that my two would be fine. Boy, I guess he was correct. lol. He even informed me that my two were sticking together like glue. I taught them to take care of one another. I would recommend Steven for watching anyone's dog. I sure do know that he will be first on my list to call if I ever take another vacation. Again, Steven was AWESOME. He was always so polite and kept a smile on his face when speaking to me. KUDOS to you Steven. Great job. DUKE and BROWNIE say's thank you (WOOF, WOOF). Oh, I forgot the most important thing that impressed me so was the fact that since my dog DUKE has severe arthritis and was not doing the best while Steven was watching him, Steven was concerned so he contacted me after my dogs stay just to make sure DUKE was doing ok. That says volumes for me because it shows that Steven really cares and that is what makes him even more AWESOME.”

“Another 5 star review for Monica! It has been almost a year since we last booked a rover, but even so, Beau was so excited to see Monica when we arrived. I know that my dog will be safe and loved in Monica's care. She provides pictures and fun comments, which are always appreciated. Monica is always my first choice on Rover and I could not recommend her more!!”

“Janelle boarded my senior dog for a week and everything went perfect. She is professional, communicative, and has a cozy/clean home that my dog felt so comfortable in. I will book Janelle again and recommend her to anyone!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages and special needs for 10+ years. The largest dog I’ve cared for in their home was a great wolf hound weighing 165 lbs. he was the biggest baby in the world! I have a 3 year old golden retriever who loves everyone and every dog. I watch a golden retriever who is 8 and a golden doodle who is 1 continuously throughout the year. Looking to add more fur baby dates to calendar for my golden who loves new friends! I’m a nanny and my schedule changes daily but im able to leave to come home whenever needed. Letting the dogs out is no concern :) experienced with all breeds and sizes but dog friendly/ people friendly is a must. 1 dog home- an almost 3 year old golden retriever who loves everyone and every dog. When she isn’t at day camp at pets mart she’s playing with the neighbors dogs. Having doggie friends daily is what she would love. Watching dogs while the owners are on trips is what we are used to. 5-10 days at a time.
“We booked last minute and she accepted. Thank you so much for taking care of our fur baby. He really enjoyed the stay there. She sent pictures and videos to update us. She went above and beyond when zizi wasnt eating. She communicated and made us feel at ease. I would recommend her very professional 👌 our dog had fun. We will book her again. Thanks Rachael for taking care of zizi😊”

About: I grew up around animals my whole life. My friend had a farm growing up, and I loved to help out. I have always lived with dogs, bunnies, geckos, frogs, cats, you name it! I love pets and would treat yours no less then if they were my own:) Pets are family too! I am absolutely an animal lover and would love to take care of yours like they are my own. Since Bailey our dog, the last of our animals passed away two years ago I have been missing a furry friend in my life. At the moment I am training for the police academy and work part time at a gym that is close to my house. With that being said I have lots of free time; My weeks are completely open so I am happy to help anytime of the day or evening. I know animals need lots of love, attention, and exercise. I love to take walks and always enjoy a furry companion. Fresh water is important, enough potty breaks and definitely make sure they have a full belly! I'II make sure your fur baby is having too much fun to notice you're gone :) Also, I apologize if it says I have a low response time! When I first used the app a few years ago I did not click “away” when I stopped using the app, instead I just deleted it. I promise I will answer ASAP! At the moment I am training for the police academy and work part time at a gym that is close to my house. I work at the gym Monday and Tuesday from 5pm until 11pm and have Volleyball on Friday from 6pm until 11pm. With that being said I have lots of free time; My weeks are completely open so I am happy to help anytime of the day or evening. I live in a house that is on a dead end of a neighborhood which is very peaceful. There is a trail that is directly behind my house for easy walk access. My yard is unfenced but I will make sure to leash and supervise your pup if they are staying at my home! If your dog needs to be crated I ask that you please bring one as I do not have a crate of my own. There is no other animals in my home to worry about, I am willing to accommodate to any needs your dog may need.
“I was a bit nervous as this was my first time using the app, but kinda and her family did an awesome job ! They were super responsive and kind and you can just tell they all really love dogs . Rue had a a blast . She came back very tired but very happy . I will book with them again”

“10/10 stars!! I would absolutely try boarding/cat sitting with Hali in the future. I was considerably nervous as it was the first time my cat would ever spend a night away from me. Hali made sure to keep me updated with plenty of pictures and videos of Wednesday during her stay! My cat is an anxious girl, so I appreciated the effort and patience Hali had with her. Hali was also very considerate about the fact that my cat gets anxious around dogs, and thankfully was able to provide Wednesday with a space of her own! Overall, I’m very happy with the quality of care Wednesday received and would definitely recommend booking with Hali.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Macomb
Cheri provided excellent care for my dog during her 11 days of boarding and kept me up to date with daily photos. I was so nervous to leave my senior, arthritic dog for such a long period of time but I cant tell from the photos and videos sent that Cheri kept her safe, active, and happy during her stay. Im so grateful and highly recommend!
We were nervous leaving our dogs for 10 days while we were in Japan, but Kayla made it such an easy experience. She took amazing care of Boaty and Bean and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She sent daily pictures and thorough updates, which we really appreciated and looked forward to every night. We’ll absolutely be using her again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
