“This was my first time using Rover for my pet Shelby. I was pretty lucky to find a great pet sitter, Jenna was fantastic. She has a wonderful puppy friendly home and is very knowledgeable and loving with animals. I'm grateful my puppy was in good hands.”

“Tanya took wonderful care of Hank! She was very attentive and caring for our dog while my husband and I were away. She truly enjoys taking care of your pet and makes it easy to feel like your pet is in good hands. We would absolutely leave our dog with her again!”

“Miranda was amazing and took great care of Otis! She responded quickly, sent me updates and is very friendly. Otis appears to have loved running with the other pups on her large property as he has been snoring since I picked him up! I would highly recommend Miranda!”

“Danielle and her family were so great with my high energy, high anxiety border collie. She was super communicative in advance and was flexible with my crazy travel hours. When we got to their house to drop Callie off, she immediately took off into their huge, fenced in backyard, and I knew she’d have a great time there. Not only did Danielle and her family play with Callie, but even the neighborhood kiddos came to throw frisbees for her. I know she’d love to go back, and I’m happy to recommend Danielle to anyone looking for a fun time for their pup!”

“Shivambika took care of my dog like her own. She sent me timely updates and kept me informed about my dog’s wellbeing. My dog was a little sad and wasn’t eating very well but Shivambika tried different things to make sure she eats well and she succeeded too. Her house is very clean and beautiful. I would definitely leave my dog there again.”

“Nina did an awesome job taking care of my pug she was able to send plenty of pictures and continued to communicate with me periodically . I would high recommend Nina to take care of your pet.”

“Amy is great! She took very good care of Simba and kept us informed with pictures and videos during his stay. Simba enjoyed his time playing with Woody and we will definitely be a returning client!”

About: My husband and I always had a pack of rescues. Large, small, sick, old. We had no children so our pets were our children. My husband passed away and I recently just lost my last fur baby. I want to travel a bit so pet sitting is going to be my substitute for a while. I love cats but unfortunately I'm highly allergic. I currently work remotely but will be retiring shortly. My daily routine is wide open. I've always had one or more dogs so my routine has always been focused on their care. My last 3 were older boys with medical conditions so my life was focused on their care. I can accommodate crates or not, whatever your babies need. I do not have a fenced in yard so when they go outside they will always be on a leash.
“Shanel was wonderful with my 2 dogs! She was super responsive, and shared many photos of my pups on their getaway weekend. My mind felt at ease with my dogs in Shanel’s care while I was out of town. She was very sweet and gentle, and it is easy to see she genuinely cares about all animals. We will definitely be back! Rosco and Maria say thank you Auntie Shanel ????”
“Sandra is loving and caring with our Sammy. She is very good about sending updates, walking him and playing with him. She has watched Sammy several times and he loves her. Sammy is always content and happy when we pick him up.”

“Lindsay saved our vacation by taking Gus last minute. Gus enjoyed himself and I got lots of pictures while I was gone of him having a good time. Gus has some anxiety and gets a nervous tummy and struggles to eat from time to time but I know Lindsay was keeping a watchful eye on him. I will certainly use her again, thank you Lindsay!”

“Noom and Lawerence were great hosts and Wrigley had a great time. They were very supportive and accommodating and more than happy to give Wrigley her daily eye drops. They also had a great space for Wrigley to run and play with their dog Leo. I’m certain Wrigley would be happy to go back.”

About: I am experienced with daily feeding routines, leash walking, potty breaks, and basic supervision. I take dogs on 3–4 leashed walks per day and closely monitor their comfort, behavior, and safety. I am a full time staying home mom so I have plenty of times to take care of your dogs. I want to make a schedule at least 1 week earlier. Calm, clean home with a yard (not fenced). Dogs are always supervised and taken on 3–4 leashed walks daily. I accept small, medium dogs only and host one guest at a time, alongside my friendly Cavapoochon Taco.
“Orawan is fantastic! This was my first time using Rover and I’m so glad I came across her profile. She kept me updated daily with pictures of my little fur baby, and took excellent care of her! I will definitely contact Orawan again! Thank you!”

“Our family is so grateful to have found Kellie to watch our dog. He was well cared for and we enjoyed the daily pic Kellie sent us while away on vacation. It is reassuring to know our dog has a safe and loving place to stay when needed. Thank you, Kellie!”

“This was our second time using Christina to watch our dogs and it certainly won't be our last. She sent daily pictures and updates. Our dogs were so happy and well loved and cared for. Very flexible with drop off and pick up times!!”

“I cannot express in words how incredible of an experience we had with Brittany. Our original sitter fell through very last minute and Brittany was more than willing to accommodate a two week stay for our pup. Not only is her home environment perfect for a dog; lots of physical activity, snuggles, love, low stress, daily obedience training, etc., but it is also the expertise and confidence Brittany provides that makes for an ideal situation. She knows temperaments of breeds through her years of training and uses her knowledge to create a controlled, safe and fun experience. The daily pictures and updates gave us a worry-free vacation and we absolutely loved seeing the fun our guy was having. The pick up/drop off option is also a game-changing bonus! Seeing Brittany get a little teary-eyed saying goodbye to Clarence was complete confirmation of the genuine love she has for dogs. Clarence now has a beautiful second family for when we are gone, and we are forever grateful!”

“Kayla is trustworthy and super loving with my Bella. Bella comes home happy and even more spoiled. Kayla is accommodating and cautious about your pet while in her care. Recommend her a 1000%.”

“Sheri was fantastic! Lucy was treated like her own dog. She was spoiled and loved and Lucy got along really well with Sheri's dog. I know Lucy is going to miss being at Sheri's house. I'll definitely use her again would highly recommend her to anyone needing excellent care for your dog.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Macomb
Cheri provided excellent care for my dog during her 11 days of boarding and kept me up to date with daily photos. I was so nervous to leave my senior, arthritic dog for such a long period of time but I cant tell from the photos and videos sent that Cheri kept her safe, active, and happy during her stay. Im so grateful and highly recommend!
We were nervous leaving our dogs for 10 days while we were in Japan, but Kayla made it such an easy experience. She took amazing care of Boaty and Bean and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She sent daily pictures and thorough updates, which we really appreciated and looked forward to every night. We’ll absolutely be using her again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
