“Bonnie is amazing. She took extra special care of our fur baby and our home. She went above and beyond. She sent pictures and texts assuring us that all was well. We would highly recommend Bonnie! We will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Sarah was wonderful with Shelby while we were away! We could not have asked for a better in-home sitter for our dog and it was so nice to know she could be at home where she was comfortable.”

“Mrs. P was amazing with our fur babies! They liked her right away, and she went above and beyond with our animals who are treated like family. Our animals need to have things done a certain way, and she had no problem accommodating them. The house was also left spotless. I really appreciated the pictures and updates every day and her quick responses to our messages. We are VERY fussy on who we leave them with, and we will be calling her again for sure!!”

“We had Kelly house sit for us while we were on vacation (5 days), our two larger dogs (#65 and #100) love her! She definitely cares about them and it makes travelling easier knowing that your pets are in good hands. We will definitely be booking her again.”

About: I have worked in the veterinary medical field for 6+ years and have thousands of hours of experience as a veterinary assistant. I am comfortable with all types of dogs and cats, with all different personalities- that’s what makes them all unique and I love it! I am currently very flexible with my weekly routine and I am more than happy to meet with you beforehand if you feel more comfortable. As an avid cat owner, I have Toulouse naturally leash-trained. I have an enclosure for him so he can enjoy the outside, while also being safe. At clients’ homes, I follow all instructions to make sure the pet is safe. I also will make sure the pet is always in my sight if outside.
“Mariah was fantastic! Our nervous dog has a hard time when we leave and Mariah was so great with him! He was nervous at first but warmed up quickly and was happy to follow her everywhere. She sent regular updates, left the house in perfect condition, and even left a little “doggy report card” which was so nice to come home to. We will definitely be using her again!”

About: I have cared for and owned all different kinds of animals. I have been in the horse riding industry since I was 8 years old so I am not skiddish towards other animals. I truly have a passion for animals and I am very able and willing to do what it takes to take care of your beloved pets!! I am currently a full time student, however I am a commuter so I have the ability to travel freely in between classes and outside of classes. I am on summer break from May-September and have a virtually free schedule for whatever you may need! I am more than happy to confine to whatever you may need me to do in order to give your pet the best care possible. I have slept over, done drop ins, walks, etc. with other dog and cat sitting jobs and I am very comfortable.
“Excellent care and communication while we traveled internationally. The daily photos were a huge amount of comfort while away. The pets seemed very happy. Would definitely book again!”

About: I have grown up my entire life with dogs and cats in the home. I started dog sitting when I was ten for a family friend and worked at a local kennel through middle and high school. I am now the proud father of 3 of my own and cherish every moment I spend with them. I am currently working partime and set my own schedule so I will have plenty of time to show your pups all the love they deserve when mom and dad are away. Whether is playing fetch or a nice long walk I'll make sure your children are happy and excercised when you can't be there to do it for them.
About: Dog-walking and pet-sitting were some of my first jobs when I was a kid. I have 10+ years of experience caring for cats and dogs for friends, family, and neighbors. My family always had pets while I was growing up so caring for animals is something I feel comfortable about and truly enjoy doing! Aside from walking and checking in, I have also stayed and taken care of pets for longer periods of time. I own a 5 year old beagle and 9 year old cat myself! I am a recent college graduate and I currently only work part-time during the week so I have pretty flexible availability for scheduling. I am also available most weekends. I am a pet owner myself and I know that they are like family. I understand it can be hard for both you and your pet while away and I like to provide communication and updates through text and pictures. I have experience caring for sick pets as well as those that require medication/ extra assistance.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Washington
Andrea was Great. My dogs were well cared for. I was very happy. She kept me up to date on their activities & feed times, as well as their potty breaks. She stayed with them and managed thru bad weather with them. Boba (my Shiba Inu husky mix Dog) gains a couple pounds😂🤣😆 while my Yorkie was a content lap dog. My old Dog Anakin who pulls out every toy shredding the stuffing and sheds, was picked up after & I swear my house looked better than I left it. Thank you very much, Andrea. I really appreciate it. Everything you’ve done for my dogs.

I can’t say enough good things about our dog sitter! From the moment we met, I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog in her care. She was reliable, attentive, and kept me updated with photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. My dog came home happy, well cared for, and clearly loved while I was away. It’s such a relief knowing I have someone I can trust with my furry family member. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable dog sitter!

Andrea was wonderful house sitting our two dogs. They are anxious with strangers but Andrea was patient and gentle with them and was able to get them comfortable with her. She kept us updated, sent pictures, took them on walks and kept them happy and comfortable. We would love to have her house sit again and recommend her!

Ainsley took care of our 70lb Bernedoodle in our home for 4 nights in August 2025; she stayed there for the overnights. We received daily pictures and even more when I requested them. We didn’t know how our dog’s appetite and sleeping habits would change with us being gone, but she kept a close eye on it and kept us informed. She’s responsive to questions, and also brought in our mail, packages and garbage cans from the curb. I didn’t have to worry about our fur baby being lonely and feeling abandoned, and we enjoyed a much needed getaway. She is competent, responsible and respectful and I would request her again in a heartbeat!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!Grace was absolutely amazing! She took amazing care of our sweet Harley while we were traveling out of the country. She was super reliable, communicative and loving towards are sweet baby!! We will definitely be hiring her again in the future!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Washington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Washington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Washington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
