“I couldn't be happier with Auzzie's stay with Pamela! He's a rambunctious/energetic dog and had an absolute blast at her home. He came back to us, happy and exhausted from constantly playing with one of the other dogs who was staying with her at the time. Pamela was flexible and understanding with drop off/pick up times. She kept me up to date with daily pictures of my pup which put me at ease. If I need a doggy-sitter, I'm definitely going to Pamela!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 8 years old. At that time, we got a standard poodle puppy (Inspector Gadget) who I fed, walked, played with, and let out before/after school everyday. When he was about 3, we also got a springer spaniel (Sookie) from the shelter who was an absolute angel, and mine and Gadget’s best friend. I always made sure they had what they needed and felt loved! I took care of Gadget until he sadly passed at the age of 14, and Sookie until she passed at the age of 10, so I have experience with elderly dogs as well. My mom recently got a golden retriever puppy who I would visit to walk, feed, and play with occasionally while she is at work. I also have experience with birds and cats. I am currently working as a resident at one of the local hospitals, so my schedule is variable, but by booking me you know that you will get a trusted professional to care for your pets. I am free every other weekend to care for pets, and am generally free in the evenings of weekdays. I have no problem showing any pet love, regardless of size or breed, and will make sure they get the attention and love they need! I am used to big and mid-sized dogs since that’s what I grew up with, so walking large dogs will not be a problem. I am familiar with standard training practices for dogs as well and will adhere to any specific instructions.
“Tove & Gerry are the best. Our 10 year old Golden Doodle Marley had only been boarded once in her life. From the first minute that she walked into their home Marley was comfortable. They took great care of her, sent updates and pictures and cared for her like she was their own. Tove even slept with Marley one night when her tummy wasn’t feeling great. You couldn’t ask for two more wonderful people to watch your little one.”

“Andrea is very professional and communicative. She is patient and attentive to the needs of both of my high energy pit bulls. I’ve gone through many dog sitters and she by far is the best she is great at understanding the needs of my girl pit as well as my boy. She goes above and beyond to make sure they’re comfortable and taken care of during their stay. Thank you again.”
“She did a great job and my usually very shy and scared cat warmed up to Stephanie and her family fairly quickly! I have nothing but good things to say about her. Also, she was very flexible on the pick up time and I couldn’t be more appreciative. Highly recommend to use her for your animal sitting needs!”

“Kaitlynn has watched our golden retriever several times now and has been consistently awesome. She sends pictures and updates each day, and you can tell she gives personal attention and love to the dogs in her care. We are lucky to have found her!”

“Lillian is for sure a dog whisperer! She sent me a update each day with pictures. Blondie remembered her from our meet and greet! I love the experience! I will return!!”

About: My name is Ivette and I currently study at Case. My husband is a USPS mail carrier and I work from home. Currently, I have one dog and two rescue cats🐾. During the pandemic, I spent a significant amount of time with my pets indoors where I had the opportunity to take care of two litters that my dogs had. I learned many skills during that time. With age, my dog became a senior dog and had to take oral medication so I am used to giving oral/topical medication to pets. I have been living in the Cleveland area since 2019 but I am originally from Texas. My current home has a fenced back yard and a good route for walks. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.
“This is a kind personable family that obviously enjoys animals. Jane their little Yorkie was very kind and accepting to Elizabeth. We feel comfortable letting her visit them again and we appreciated the frequent updates and photos of Elizabeth's stay.”

“Brendan & Sarah are the best! They took great care of our two large dogs and sent us plenty of pics and updates. It’s such a relief to know our dogs are well cared for when we go out of town.”

About: I truly love animals, my favorite being dogs. i am with dogs every day all day.I have lots of experience with raising puppies and caring for dogs of many sizes and temperaments. I have owned snakes, lizards, turtles, fish;etc. so I also have experience with small animal care along with house sitting. Though I am not certified I train dogs for fun. (Basic obedience & tricks) I have even been told by a professional that I am really good at training dogs. I am a certified dog groomer. Some may say that I am a great bather and my grooms are neat. After working at an animal hospital for 2yrs I know a thing or two about pet care & what to do in an emergency so no worries your pets are completely safe in my care. Pet care is my life from the time that i wake up from the time i lay my head. i can do this in my sleep. (: in my home every dog is given the same amount of love. i do not have a fenced in yard however i take leash safety very seriously. we walk daily and i have never had a dog escape. i have tie out long enough to go where they'd like within the safe zone. we also have play time within my spacious finished basement that also has a fully stocked mini grooming salon on the opposite side. as far as drop ins in the clients home whatever care sheet you provide is what will be followed to the T.
“She was an amazing sitter. Scrappy loved his visit there with her and the dogs. Gained new friends and looked so happy in all the pictures Angel sent me. From the first meet and greet I can tell scrappy was in good hands. I would definitely use Angel again.”

“Chelsea was absolutely fantastic! She was incredibly communicative throughout Bailey's stay, sending photos and updates every day, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She was also very accommodating with our schedule and allowed us a late check-in and check-out, which we greatly appreciated. Chelsea and her husband are genuinely kind, welcoming people, and it was clear from the start that Bailey was in great hands. Knowing she was so well cared for made it easy for us to relax and enjoy our trip. We couldn't recommend Chelsea more highly and would absolutely trust her with Bailey again in the future! :) thanks again!”
“Mike did a great job watching my dogs. He sent pics, communicated often and took really great care of both of them. we were so pleased!!! I highly recommend him as a trusted person to take care of your dog family!!”

“Kimberly was great with my dog. I got updates daily with pictures. I can tell when my dog is stressed, and she didn’t appear stressed at all. All my instructions were followed, and medications given. I will use Kimberly again!”

“Sarah is the best!!! We can always trust her with our pup ❤️🐶 We had to travel last minute due to an emergency and reached out to Sarah, she was available and took care of our 9-yr old Shih tzu, Frank, while we were away. She also gave him his monthly preventative medications and sent us regular updates. She gave us peace of mind during our trip.”

Another wonderful stay for my pups. This was the first longer stay for my pup, Teddy and he can be nervous with new people. Seeing pictures of him playing with the other pups and cuddling with Susan and Jason made me so happy. I am so grateful to have found such a wonderful sitter for my two dogs.

Our pup Charlie was in great hands with Alyssa and her crew for the last 10 days. From the start, Alyssa was responsive, communicative, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. She shared frequent updates, photos, and videos, which gave us real peace of mind. It was obvious Charlie was getting plenty of attention, exercise, and playtime, and he looked happy and well cared for throughout his stay. We came home to a relaxed, healthy pup, and we’re so grateful for the care he received. We wouldn’t hesitate to leave Charlie with Alyssa again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to watch their dog.

Tove & Gerry are the best. You couldn’t ask for two more wonderful people to watch your little one.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
