Pet care experience

Fun family to love your furbabies!

We are a fun, vibrant family who love pets. And pet sitting on a schedule we approve was perfect to add more pet personalities into our lives! We just opened back up to new clients!! We have a large house with plenty of rooms and moveable gates if your baby needs some private time. We lost our sweet Golden Retriever, Willow in July 2023. But we adopted a puppy in November 2024. Luna, our black lab, is 7 months old now (March 2024). She is good with our guest dogs but she is high energy and a puppy. Over the past 5 months, we have worked on training her to listen when we tell her stop, we give her time outs if a guest has had too much Luna love. And she is getting better all the time at doggie communication. So as long as your dog is not aggressively reactionary, they will be comfortable here. We also have 2 cats -one black bombay cat-Ninja (4 years old-2024) - and Maine Coon (1 year old-2024)- both have always lived with a dog sibling. Maine Coons are known for their playful and easy nature, and this guy has no fear of the dog guests. He will speak to them about how to treat him, but only swats if they try to chase. And black cats - well - they are as cool as they look. He can take care of himself but will not be mean. He will be curious and can escape as he needs. We have 2 younger kids who grew up with pets all their lives. They are taught to respect and read a pets cues, to take care of their needs and how to gently love them. We have a large-ish fenced in back yard. And can provide temporary extra fencing at the front gate which has larger gaps to accommodate our smaller visitors. We both work full time but we work about 8-10 minutes from home, so we can come home to play, walk and check in on our puppy guests at lunch. Peter works from home 3-4 days a week, and I get to work from home 1 day, so there is usually only one potential day a week that we both have to go into the office. Weekends of course are open for family, our pets and our sweet guest pets :) We rarely have full day weekend commitments and will block our calendar if we feel all of us will be out of the house too long to make a guest safe and comfortable. Unfortunately, we do not have a schedule that can suit regular dog walking clients, but we are happy to sub for your regular dog walker if they need to go on vacation. Come and play with us!

Peter took care of River for a week and provided us with lots photos and kept her safe and healthy. This is a great place to board an energetic dog who loves to play with other dogs.

My dog had a wonderful experience. They catered to her needs and energy levels and she was very comfortable on their human furniture. Great communication.

I'm so happy I found Tara and Peter. they have watched Denali before. This most recent was an extend 2 week stay. They updated me with so many pictures. Also cared for some abnormal things they saw in him, that turned out to be nothing. They identified it let me know and we were on the same page. Not having my dog with me is tough but knowing he was cared for, running and playing with his new friends was reassuring. Denali will be back

Schedule

We are lucky to be able to work from home between the two of us 4/5 days per week. We also live about 10 minutes from our offices, so when we have overnight guests during the week if we both have to be in the office, we come home during day to check on and play with our guests. Weekends we can go on walks at Acacia or a cool hiking spot. If we show our weekend as free for guests, then your pet will be our focus. And we will structure our activities around things we can do to play with your baby.

Safety, trust & environment

We have a fenced in back yard and a large home. We put your pets needs first when they are with us.

We need to know if your dog is aggressive toward kids or other pets. Fear and intimidation we can help with. Basic obedience training or puppy level energy does not worry us. My kids have often been bulled over by our overexcited dog playing. We are used to that and our kids are now big enough that its a good lesson for them to know how to play with a puppy. Outright aggression (ie biting) is something we cannot risk around our family.
