“First time stay over for our boys, we did not need to worry, our boys were well taken care of. Really good communication to let us know they had settled in well, slept all night, and had their toast for breakfast 😀 no worries at all. Thank you 💚 🐾 🐾”

“Maeve and Gary cared for my little dog Pip so well. I was sent photos and videos daily of her time spent with them and I could tell that Pip was having the best time and was so happy to be with them! Pip settled with them instantly and I could see they genuinely cared for her. I would recommend without hesitation. Thank you both”

“Joshuah took great care of Kobbie! He was very welcoming and handled Kobbie’s high energy well. He took him out for a walk even when the weather was rubbish and sent updates/pics throughout the weekend. Would definitely recommend :)”

“Our dog Rin stayed with Hiu Shun for 10 nights and had a great time. We received regular updates and photographs. It was big a relief to know she was in such good care. We will definitely be booking again and would highly recommend Hiu Shun! Excellent service!”

“We booked Tracy for 5 days , our dog is a husky/malamute cross, so he's a big boy .. Tracy wasn't fased at all , she was very chilled, we had a visit to meet Tracy and her partner Stu , they made us feel at ease straight away and Benny was all over them .Tracy kept us updated on how Benny was doing and answered promptly to my messages each day .Benny had a great stay and seemed really happy when we went to collect him .. We would definitely use Tracy again and have already passed details to our friends and family..”

“Thank you so much for having Marnie❤️ Marnie is 7 month old puppy who can sometimes be a handful and Jessica has looked after her so so well and we are really happy and will definitely book in with her again”

“Anna and her family watched Ella for 3 nights, and Ella felt right at home straight away. We met up in advance ahead of the booking to make sure it was a good match, and Anna’s kind nature and her very well behaved little boy Marco made me feel right at ease. I knew Ella would have the best time there. And from the pictures shared I can tell she did :-) I have already booked in for next time!”

“Anna took care of Koko for a week, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. She kept us up to date throughout, sending daily videos and pictures that really put our minds at ease. It was clear Koko was well looked after and happy in her care. We would highly recommend Anna to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful pet sitter.”

“Alfie had a lovely stay with Bianka. I was nervous leaving Alfie as I’ve never had to use a dog sitter before. As soon as Alfie arrived he seemed at ease straight away and had a wonder around the garden. Biancka kept me updated and sent photos. Bianka even slept downstairs on the sofa with Alfie because he would not go upstairs ❤️🐶 I will be sure to ask Bianka to have Alfie again”
“Once again, we were delighted to be able to leave Jack in Andrew's capable hands. The pair of them had a great time, and we got lots of photos and regular updates. Andrew takes time to understand dogs' quirks & foibles (very important for Jack - he's got a few...!!!), and builds his plan accordingly. He made sure we were comfortable with what he was proposing to do over the weekend, which was very reassuring. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Andrew, and we'll be booking Jack in again soon!”

“Yvonne and David are so lovely, we felt from the meet & greet that our boys would be well looked after, and they definitely were! They dealt with Kenny's anxiety and Geoff's general grumpiness so well, we weren't ever worried about them. We also got great pics and videos, absolutely going to rebook.”

“Thanks so much for taking such good care of Poppy! Kirsty kept in touch throughout the time she had our spaniel and send photos and videos. We felt very confident that Poppy was being extremely well cared for and we were able to relax while we visited with family nearby. We wish we lived near Kirsty so that we could book her more regularly! We would not hesitate to book her again next time we are in the area. Thanks so much again!”

“Lauren was absolutely amazing with Wilf, it is the first time we have left him with him only being 4 months old but he could not of been in better hands. She sent us regular updates and he had an absolute blast. Lauren is just the loveliest person and we have already booked her again for when we go on holiday, I can not recommend her enough ❤️”

“Barney has just returned from 3 nights with Dan. Barney knows as soon as we pull outside the house where he is going and gets very excited. Great daily photos of Barney on his walks and of course the cuddles in the sofa. Thanks again”

About: I'm animal lover and cat parent to a sophisticated soft lad called Benni. Work schedules make it a little difficult to have a dog full time, but I'd love to look after dogs for long weekends. I work from home most days so can accommodate your dogs preffered walks and food schedules. Sitting easiest at weekends but can consider come week days. I have a good sized house, so if your dog needs some alone time to get settled there is plenty of space for them. We do have a cat, so only dogs that get along with cats please.
“Lauren is so lovely. Loca was relaxed with her from the start which was so reassuring for us. Nothing was a bother and Loca was shattered when she got home, which for her is a sign of lots of fun during her stay! Thank you Lauren, Loca’s next weekend with you is already in the diary 🥰”

Julie was absolutely fantastic ! Looked after Fliss and Frida with such care and attention to detail. We felt happy and confident leaving our beloved dogs in her care. Julie kept us updated as the boarding progressed which reassured us and was very much appreciated.

Hannah and her partner looked after Peanut for around 9 days for me and peanut had the best time! He was very well looked after I got lots of updates of the walks and the adventures he had which put my mind at ease too. Would absolutely recommend Hannah and would happily use again! Thank you for taking such good care of Peanut

Dan was amazing! Looked after our excitable golden retriever Reggie for 4 days and kept us in the loop with pics and updates throughout. Could tell from the pics how relaxed and happy Reggie was with Dan which made us feel at ease whilst on holiday. Will deffo be using Dan again in the future!

Olly our cocker spaniel has had the best time with Maeve so many thanks for looking after him this weekend! Will definitely be using you again 💕. He has been very well looked after and made to feel like one of the family which is exactly what we wanted for him. Definitely recommend

There is not enough stars for Jess and Dom! We were so nervous about leaving Nala for the first time and they completely treat her as their own, she had such amazing walks, care and love from them both. We were sent regular updates daily while we were away and appreciated everything they did so much they completely put us at ease. Nala absolutely adored them and even came back with some new tricks🤣 massive thank you to them both and we will 1 million percent use them again❤️

Maya was fantastic when she cared for our dog last week. She took time to meet our dog in advance of to ensure she understood all his needs. During the stay, she provided regular updates and we felt comfortable that our dog was happy and being well cared for. We felt that Maya has a genuine love for pets and that warmth shone through in all our interactions. We have already made a repeat reservation with Maya for our next trip away. Thank you very much.

We can’t thank Emily enough for taking such good care of Holly while we were away on a short break. We found Emily on Rover and although we were apprehensive about leaving 6 month Holly for the first time, we needn’t have worried. We were massively reassured at our introductory meeting, where Holly met and made friends with Reggie and Emily was so good with her, we just knew that she’d be well looked after and made welcome. While we were away, Emily provided daily updates and photos. Holly was clearly having a wonderful time and didn’t miss us at all! Thank you!

Rachel did a wonderful job looking after Leia for a few hours while I had a meeting. She was warm and friendly and I can tell Leia had a great time! Rachel even washed out Leia’s food bowl, and didn’t complain when I was late picking Leia up (sorry again!) Thank you so much!

Collette was amazing, updated me on everything during the booking, took amazing care of my puppy on an overnight stay and was so lovely in the lead up, during the stay and drop off. Great communication, excellent care, her doggie Reggie was my little pups bestie by the end and is a sweet gentle angel, and I would recommend Colette to anyone who wants peace of mind when leaving their precious fur babies with a sitter.

Katie was greatie! She responded super fast to answer my messages to her and follow up messages were quick too, despite me being a bit slow to reply sometimes. She could do the night I wanted, her price was reasonable and the conditions were perfect for my dog, Bella. Only animal in the house, three walks ( she was only there 16.00- 12.00 next day)and freedom of the furniture wich was a massive plus for me as I know Bella likes to snuggle in the sofa.id use Katie again in a heart beat. Thank you, Katie

I really couldn't be happier with Douglas and his family. They not just took care of Chili but she became a temporary family member. The constant updates and pictures were amazing and kept me assured she is in good hands. The cherry on top was really when I went to pick her up and even though she was happy to see me she didn't just abandon them, she got so comfortable and loved by everyone there that she just kept going over for cuddles. I couldn't have wished for a better place for Chili. Douglas and his family really went above and beyond, so Thank you so so much. 5 Star review probably not even good enough to tell how happy I am, and seeing Chili, how happy she was there too. Absolutely amazing ❤️🐾

A lovely friendly couple who have looked after Milo. He settled straight away and we were updated regularly with texts and photos of Milo on his walks and playing with his toys Can't thank Matt and Stacey enough for taking good care of Milo and would have no hesitation of recommending them for future dog care 😊

Our baby has just came back from a week stay with Haylie and had the most amazing time! It was our first time being away from him and we felt so at ease with Haylie, we did a meet and greet before he went to stay with her which we felt very comfortable about and the whole stay she kept me updated with daily photos and what he had been up to. Gordon is still a puppy and still a little bit naughty but Haylie understood his quirks and he was well looked after. Highly recommend Haylie to anyone and will definitely use her again! 😊

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Sitters in North East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
