“Oscar is a brilliant cat sitter. He very clearly loves animals and gives a high level of care as a result. He sent detailed updates with pictures and videos on every visit which was much appreciated. We’ll definitely be using his services again. Thank you!”

“Maya was great from initial contact, very professional and great with our babies. Keptus updated every day. I would not hesitate to recommend her. And will definitely use her on our next trip. Thank you so much.🙂”

“Sarah was great feeding our 2 cats while we were on holiday. It is the first time we have left them in the care of someone other than family members. She gave updates everyday and sent photos. I will be using Sarah again in the future.”

“Fiona is lovely and trust worthy. We were apprehensive about leaving our home and fur babies with someone we didn't know but got a great vibe from Fiona at the meet and greet and the cats took to her quickly. We are more than happy with the care Fiona took with our pets and home and will have no reservations about using her services in the future. She administered medication, fed and watered our pets, played with them, provided daily photos, videos and updates as well as bringing our mail in safely. 10/10!”

“Sam was brilliant! She made me feel really at ease and met my boy before we went away, I could tell she spent good time with him and sent lots of photos and feedback- will be using sam again in the future thank you so much”

About: I've looked after dogs my whole life, and honestly feel lost without them. We have had German Shepherd's mostly, including our current sheppy, Bronx (11 year old)- see my photos for some adorable sheppy spam. I'd love to take your dog/s for walks, give plenty of cuddles and even groom them (bath and brush) if that's something they enjoy. I've looked after other people's dogs including overnight stays and am looking to do this as I cannot own a dog in my accommodation and really miss them. I can't accommodate in my own home but will take perfect care of your space and pets. I also have plenty of experience looking after cats and ferrets too so happy to chat about that too. I am able to train dogs or keep up with their training schedule but this has been from growing up with dogs so I wouldn't count myself as a professional. Still, you pets will be safe and nurtured while with me :) I work Monday-Friday but can work from home 3 days a week and look after pets during that time. I am free on weekends and weekday evenings (after 5pm). I am very flexible and can work around your pet's schedule (feel free to ask me anything). I live opposite the seaside so know lots of great walking spots too! I have experience catering to different pets' needs and will provide the best care and lots of attention. I am also able to look after other pets (cats, ferrets, rabbits etc)- just ask! I like to stick to your pet's normal schedule so they feel safe and happy.
“This was the longest time we had to stay away from our cats, and Natalia was essential in making us feel safe and relaxed to enjoy our trip. She took really good care of them and the house as well. Communication was pretty good and when we arrived back, everything was in order and tidy. I cannot recommend Natalia more. Thanks a lot for everything!”

“Quick reply and easy communication, enthusiastic and made me feel completely at ease from the get go trusting her with my puppy. We have arranged for weekly visits, thank you Honey once again ☺️🩷”

“Amela is very reliable and gives great updates on my cat when I am away. Also has lots of common sense, when something didn't work the way she expected it to she immediately contacted me. I have no reservations to recommend her on her reliability and common sense attitude.”

About: We always grew up with pets, particularly dogs. We often pet sit for family members and friends. We have now been house sitting and dog sitting in a few areas of the UK and love it! We’re comfortable with cats and dogs and truly love being around animals. We have experience with several different breeds from terriers, to spaniels, to labs, and lots of rescues! We love getting to know their individual quirks! We have experience with dogs of all ages from puppies to the sweetest senior dogs, and try to keep on top of training and their routines when they stay! We have many neighbourhood cats that we’ve bonded with. Having a wfh job, I’d love to be getting more steps in and would be happy to bring your dog along! My partner Sam also works from home as a senior designer so he will be present for house sits, boarding and walks! He loves animals just as much as me and it’s something we love to do together. We run this account together but I handle the admin so it may be both or one us that are available! It gives us lots more flexibly to accommodate requests! We encourage meet and greets were possible just to make sure everyone is comfortable! I’m a full time therapist in the NHS, and work from home 3-4 days a week. Sam is a senior product designer and works from home most of the time. Having a desk job I would love to be more active, and what better way than keeping up with a dog! We’d be available to walk through the week and the weekend. We are respectful and clean and would always prioritise keeping your pets safe and in their routine, with lots of affection too! I’m happy to communicate regularly with updates for peace of mind too
“We have been using Julie to look after our cat for many years now. She is very reliable and will go out of her way to accommodate us if we have a last minute trip. Thank you!”

“This was the first time we have left Titch. Julie is the perfect person to rely on. She did everything right and More! I think they both enjoyed each other's company.🥰”

“Ana Luisa has been lovely as always! I'm never worried when I go away because I know Rexie is in good hands! Rexie always runs to Ana Luisa when she sees her and they have a very sweet relationship. Couldn't recommend enough!!”

About: Since I was a child we had dogs as pets in my parents' house. When I lived alone I adopted a dog, took her for walks at least twice a day and looked after her as a member of the family. My relatives have asked me to look after their pets when they were travelling. I enjoy interacting with pets. I work remotely, so I have free time and can combine my work and studies with walking and looking after pets. That is why it is important to coordinate the days and times of walks and visits. I try not to change the pets' routine so that they do not suffer from the stress and lack of owners. That is why I think it is important that in the previous talk I am informed about the pets' routine, so that I can take care of them as if they were my own.
About: I love all animals and have extensive experience looking after dogs, including having fostered a dog abroad with my partner and having cared for friends and neighbours dogs in the UK and overseas Flexible and adaptable to your pets needs, however full time attention will be given due to being in between jobs after working overseas for the past 4 months. I am a very respectful person who has stayed in many places across the world. I have great reviews and would treat your dog as if they were my own!
About: I am a reliable, caring dog person with personal experience raising my own dog from a puppy to her very old age. Friends always come to me when they need their dogs looked after, big or small, and I can be active in walkies or active in cuddling - whichever suits your dog best. Living by the sea allows for great exercise for your special pet, and if they're tired I have a car that means I can get them to a location and off or on the lead to stretch their legs and get home safely. I also live by a large field for those easy to access grassy walks. I work from home at least two days a week (Monday and Friday), can be available on weekends, and generally have availability for overnight boarding. Pets are welcome on furniture in our house, unless you would like me to enforce any rules - which of course I can! There's a fenced garden for safe outdoor play as well. Please don't hesitate to get in touch about care for your dog - whatever size, age or personality. If you have several dogs, I have experience with allowing three dogs to board at one time so the options are certainly open. I look forward to hearing from you :) I work from home at least two days a week (Monday and Friday) with minimal meetings so can be active during the day with walks and care. For boarding, I can do a whole week if your dog would be happy being left to roam the house while I’m out. Please just ask. I am generally available on weekends, and have availability for overnight boarding. I have a fenced garden to keep your pets safe, and quite a spacious interior for them to be comfortable when in the house. I do allow pets on the furniture but if you would like to keep your own rules for that I can absolutely honour and enforce those.
About: I have helped friends out with their dog walking, dog sitting and would really love to meet some new pups and get out more. I have dog sat for a few times over the weekends with small and large dogs to making sure to follow meal times and plans and any other requirements needed for the pup, also taking them to the beach and not just to a field close by. I have also got my level 1 animal care certificate and diploma, my level 2 animal care/management extended certificate, and I am also qualified as a level 2 dog groomer and will be completing my level 3 in September. I’m currently working at a doggy daycare during the week but would still love to meet all your lovely fur babies and give them all the playtime and walks they would want I’m completely flexible on weekends and can be during the week on selected days. If your fur babies where to come to where I live for a while my back and front gardens are completely fenced in the back has 6 foot fences and the gate can be locked the front garden fences are shorter but is still safe. Your animals will be completely safe and well looked after with me with much love and playtime.
“Olena and her daughter took amazing care of our kitty, Nikko. He was so happy and very relaxed upon our arrival home and almost seemed disappointed it was us and not lovely Olena coming to visit him again. I would not hesitate to book with her anytime we need a sitter in the future.”

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - North Tyneside
Amy was totally brilliant with our nervous cat. She spent time building trust, which meant we got lots of lovely pictures while away, which was so reassuring. Everything was left clean and tidy and Amy communicated really well throughout the weeks. We will 100% use Amy from now on.

Oscar looked after my two cats (18 months and 6 months old) whilst i was away on holiday dropping in twice a day. He followed instructions perfectly and wasn’t phased by one of them being a little litter tray sensitive. He updated me with pictures and videos which gave peace of mind and both of my babies were in great spirits when I returned. Would absolutely book again!

We had a really positive experience with Alannah. She followed all the instructions carefully and was incredibly helpful and kind throughout. It was clear that she genuinely cared and took great care of our cat, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. Overall, a fantastic sitter—we would definitely book with Alannah again and highly recommend her to others!

Amela is very reliable and gives great updates on my cat when I am away. Also has lots of common sense, when something didn't work the way she expected it to she immediately contacted me. I have no reservations to recommend her on her reliability and common sense attitude.

Ellen has been absolutely superb with little Pitta. We were away for a week and it was our first time leaving him home & she reassured us so much via msgs and picture updates. My little cat never really shows interest in any company other than ours but he’s been so relaxed and comfortable around Ellen, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. No need to look any further, Ellen is the right person to take care of your cat & we will 100% be booking again when needed. :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
