“5 stars doesn’t even come close! After being let down at the last hurdle Sarah agreed to do a 2 a day visit for 10 days with 36 hours notice! As cat owners who have never left our cats for a long period of time, Sarah did everything to ease our concerns and made sure that we never left wondering! She was honestly amazing, she came and met the cats before hand and sent us photos twice a day every day for the whole ten days. We have come home to two very happy, very well looked after cats and we can say without hesitation that we will 100% be booking Sarah in future as she really does go the extra mile. ”

“Maya was very caring when looking after my two cats, she spent time playing with them and sent lots of photos of them while she looked after them which I appreciated! I’m sure Bean and Toast will look forward to seeing them again next time we go on holiday! Thank you Maya :)”

“I have booked Oscar to watch my cat Napoleon twice now and both times he did a great job! He sent me plenty of pictures and videos while I was away and let me know if he was eating and drinking well. I would book him again any time.”

“Emma was great and being experienced in the animal industry helped massively, the cats seemed comfortable around her and I felt confident they were looked after, would recommend :)”

“Amela is very reliable and gives great updates on my cat when I am away. Also has lots of common sense, when something didn't work the way she expected it to she immediately contacted me. I have no reservations to recommend her on her reliability and common sense attitude.”

About: After losing my beloved Alex, my cherished companion of many years, to old age, I’ve come to understand the profound bond between pets and their owners. Alex brought so much joy, comfort, and unconditional love into my life, and his passing left a space that only the presence of a furry friend can fill. This experience has inspired me to open my heart and home to other pets, offering them the same care, attention, and affection that I gave to Alex. I know firsthand the importance of patience, routine, and understanding when it comes to caring for pets, especially those who may be older or need extra support. Whether it’s a gentle walk, a cosy cuddle, or simply being there to provide companionship, I’m committed to ensuring every pet feels safe, loved, and valued. Let me help care for your pet with the same dedication and warmth that I gave to my dear Alex. Fully insured. As a part-time teacher, pet sitting complements my flexible schedule, allowing me to dedicate mornings, evenings, and weekends to walks, feeding, and cuddles, ensuring pets feel loved and secure. I have a big fenced garden as well as a garden room, my dog Alex was allowed to use the house as our humans do and I will treat any pet the same way.
“Olena and her daughter took amazing care of our kitty, Nikko. He was so happy and very relaxed upon our arrival home and almost seemed disappointed it was us and not lovely Olena coming to visit him again. I would not hesitate to book with her anytime we need a sitter in the future.”

About: Hi my name is Jess! I have life long experience with my own pets and looking after other peoples. Including rabbits, puppies, dogs, kittens, cats and birthing animals. I work from home so have plenty of time, I enjoy frequent walks and nature outings and love having a bit of animal company whilst doing so. Communication is key when looking after animals so I like to have explicit instructions and follow these to maintain routine. I don't mind animals on my furniture or my bed and I have a big fenced off garden.
“This was the first time we have left Titch. Julie is the perfect person to rely on. She did everything right and More! I think they both enjoyed each other's company.🥰”

“Quick reply and easy communication, enthusiastic and made me feel completely at ease from the get go trusting her with my puppy. We have arranged for weekly visits, thank you Honey once again ☺️🩷”

“Sam did a fantastic job of looking after Egon while I was away. She sent me photos and videos from each visit and I could tell that he was having lots of fun. Her updates were extremely reassuring and I've arrived home to a relaxed and playful boy. Would highly recommend! ”

About: I've spent my whole life with cats and dugs. I grew up with a tabby cat and a cocker spaniel and, when I was lodging in London, I lived with a calico kitten and an ex-Police German Shepherd. Friends, family, and folk I've got chatting to in the pub have all relied on me too look after their cats, kittens, and a range of dog breeds including labradors, rottweilers, and spaniels. I'm a devoted Cat-Dad. Lacey, our nine-year-old rescue cat, has me wrapped round her little toe-bean. I'd love to get a dog but I fear they might cause chaos at my day job in an art gallery. I'm friendly, reliable, and pride myself on excellent communication. I can't wait to meet your furry friend! I work shifts in an art gallery in Newcastle which offers great flexibility to accommodate your furry friend. My best availability is mornings and evenings Monday - Friday. I offer updates and photos from every check-in. I make time to play with your cat and check, food, water, and litter trays. I'm always happy to spend time with them to build trust and a real bond.
“Ana Luisa looked after my cat Rexie for a couple of weeks whilst I was away and she was perfect! She had an amazing connection with Rexie from the very start and was extremely friendly and caring! I absolutely recommend and will definitely be in touch again next time I go away!!”

Oscar looked after my two cats (18 months and 6 months old) whilst i was away on holiday dropping in twice a day. He followed instructions perfectly and wasn’t phased by one of them being a little litter tray sensitive. He updated me with pictures and videos which gave peace of mind and both of my babies were in great spirits when I returned. Would absolutely book again!

Amy was great with our cat and kitten, communication was fantastic throughout and we loved getting so many pictures and updates of how they were doing. It was really reassuring knowing that she was there to give them love and attention so we could enjoy a rare night out! We’d love to have her back in the future and I’m sure the cats would love that too

Ellen has been absolutely superb with little Pitta. We were away for a week and it was our first time leaving him home & she reassured us so much via msgs and picture updates. My little cat never really shows interest in any company other than ours but he’s been so relaxed and comfortable around Ellen, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. No need to look any further, Ellen is the right person to take care of your cat & we will 100% be booking again when needed. :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
