About: I’ve taken care of animals all my life and I am currently studying animal care in college so I am able to carry out care for pets to a high standard and I have also received qualifications in this sector. I am able to do this morning and night between 6-8am and 6-10pm on weekdays due to college and other responsibilities and 6-8am and 2-8pm on weekends due to working. Feeding, grooming, watering, walking. I do this on a daily basis due to having pets of my own, and I have done this for many years.

Eva was great, she provided regular updates to let me know she was getting on with the cats. I have one who is very shy with strangers but Eva made sure that he was okay. Highly recommend her. Thank you so much.

About: I’ve owned dogs since the age of 7 and have grown up around them, so caring for dogs feels very natural to me. I have plenty of experience with both dogs and puppies and understand how important routine, patience, affection, and a safe environment are for happy pets. As a busy family home, there will always be someone home to give your dog plenty of attention, company, care, and cuddles throughout the day. I’m a mum to 2-year-old twins and a 10-month-old baby, all of whom are very gentle, loving, and used to being around dogs. We’re an active household and are more than happy to take dogs on lots of walks and little adventures while they stay with us. Your dog will be treated as part of the family and given lots of love, playtime, comfort, and one-to-one attention during their stay at The Wagging Retreat 🐾 Pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine as I am currently on maternity leave and at home full-time. This means dogs are never left alone for long periods and can enjoy regular feeding, toilet breaks, playtime, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I have 2-year-old twins, so our days already include outdoor walks and time in the park, which works brilliantly for dog walks and little adventures. Nap times allow for calm bonding, grooming, and training, while evenings are relaxed and settled, making it ideal for cuddles and companionship. Overall, my schedule is flexible and home-based, allowing me to provide consistent care, supervision, and lots of love in a family environment. When caring for pets in my home, they are treated as part of the family. I have a fully fenced, newly refurbished back garden where dogs can safely go outside to toilet and get fresh air whenever needed. Because I’m at home full-time, I’m able to keep a close eye on them, maintain their usual routine, and give them lots of attention throughout the day. Dogs have regular walks, playtime, and plenty of cuddles, as well as quiet time to rest. Feeding times, medication (if required), and any specific instructions from the owner are followed carefully. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I stick closely to their usual routine to help pets feel comfortable and settled. This includes feeding, walks, toilet breaks, playtime, and companionship, as well as keeping the home clean and secure. I always aim to provide calm, reliable, and loving care so owners feel confident their pet is happy and safe.

About: Me and my husband currently have two female dogs - a Labragotto and a Dalmatian They both love to play with other dogs and are very friendly with everyone. When I leave my pets in the hands of someone else, I expect them to receive a home-from-home experience. I therefore will do the same for any pets that I care for! I will also tailor the needs for each pet according to their owners wishes. For example, I allow my pets on the furniture but if you would prefer for your pet to not be on the furniture we can amend our lifestyle to suit that! I have always been around animals growing up, I looked after my two family dogs, horses, a cat, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters! My husband is also well versed with animals, having grown up with a dog and a cat! 🐈‍⬛ I am a student midwife and so I am not working right now which means I have all the time to spend with four-legged friends 🐾 My husband works from home, so we are both on hand for separate walk routines if needed. Our dogs require a lot of exercise, we aim to walk at least 3 times a day but we can make adjustments accordingly for dogs with various fitness requirements! I have an unfenced garden but can but can put up temporary fencing. For toilet breaks I tend to put my dogs on leads to take them out anyways which helps their lead training. The house is fully safety proofed with no hazards. There is always someone home so your pet will never be left on their own.

About: I’m a veterinary student with hands-on experience caring for animals of different ages, sizes and temperaments. I have done a range of volunteering/placement at different shelters and organisations. I’m confident handling energetic dogs as well as older pets who may need extra patience and attention. Through my studies and personal experience, I understand animal behaviour, health and safety, and husbandry. I always aim to make pets feel comfortable, cared for and happy while their owners are away. I’m reliable, communicative and genuinely love spending time with animals. I am in my summer holidays of uni with few other commitments so have plenty of time to look after and play with your pets! I enjoy keeping dogs physically and mentally stimulated with games, enrichment activities and exploring local parks and new walking routes. I always adapt to each dog’s energy levels and routine so they feel comfortable and happy.

Katie was absolutely amazing, and I'll definitely be recommending her and booking her again. Her communication was excellent throughout. She provided detailed Rover cards and always kept me up to date with any changes or concerns. She took fantastic care of Cleo and made me feel completely comfortable leaving her in Katie's care. Even though Cleo is a very shy cat, Katie was patient enough to gain her trust, and within a few days she was able to pet and play with her. When Cleo managed to get out through an upstairs window, Katie handled the situation calmly and kept me updated throughout. She followed the plan we agreed to make sure Cleo could get back inside safely, and I really appreciated how reassuring and proactive she was. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Katie to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative pet sitter.

About: I’ve owned animals my whole life up until recently, after my senior pup sadly passed away! Good with puppies who need entertaining and tiring out, as well elderly pets who need a calming and more subdued presence. Looked after many of my friends pets such as cats and dogs - even my sisters tortoise! Confident with smaller animals too like hamsters and guinea pigs. Have a good inkling for training basics with puppies such as sit, wait etc. I work in the film industry and work away when I have a contract, things are very quiet at the moment so I have complete free availability to look after your pets and available at short notice for your needs! Depending on what your fur baby needs, I’ll be there! Playtime with a new young pup, someone to sit with your elderly dog and keep them company… long or short walks or someone to help with a little bit of basic training if you’re out the house all day. I’m a very easy going individual who is confident with dogs and provide the specific care they need

About: Experienced, reliable dog sitter offering loving, family-friendly care — with a calm, kid-safe environment and years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all kinds. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I plan my days around walks, playtime, and feeding schedules to make sure every dog gets the attention and care they deserve. Whether it’s morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening cuddles, I’m consistent and reliable with every pet I look after. Whether pets are staying with me or I’m visiting them in their own home, I make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for. At my home, dogs enjoy a calm, family setting with lots of space, walks, and company from my friendly, well-behaved dog. In a pet owner’s home, I respect their routines — feeding times, walk schedules, and any special instructions — so their pets feel happy and settled while their owners are away.

About: I’ve had cats and dogs since I was very young, around 7, and I’m now 19. Have much experience in walking, feeding, bathing and playing with pets. I’ve just started university in Edinburgh so have a lot of time to spend with your pets and make sure they’re very well cared for. I cannot currently house pets as I am in student accommodation however I have much experience with a 12 year old Lhasa Apso of my own and will ensure to play with and care for your pets just as well when housesitting.

About: I’m looking at starting my own dog walking/ pet sitting business, I’d like this to be my full time job! What I Offer: • hour long dog walks and outdoor adventures • Pick-up and drop-off included • Quiet routes available for reactive or nervous dogs • Full day dog walks, like a day care but out and about for the day since I live in a rental but want to offer this service! So I’ll come collect your pet! And take them out for the day and drop them off at a time that’s suitable for you! (Please let me know if they need a solo walk! Or if they can be in a group! ) • Cat care and drop ins, along with litter cleaning available upon request Whether your dog needs exercise, your cat needs a clean space, or your pet just needs someone who gets it, I’m here to help. Let’s give your pets the care and fun they deserve while giving you peace of mind. 💛 Little bit about me! Hi! I’m Jess, Im 22 years old and have been surrounded by animals my entire life from dogs and cats to guinea pigs, tortoises, bearded dragons, rabbits, and even chickens. Caring for a wide variety of pets has taught me how to handle them with patience, understanding, and love. Whether it’s feeding, cleaning litter trays, or creating a safe and comfortable environment, I’m happy to help. Right now, I have a rescue dog who has been very nervous and sensitive to noises so I truly understand how to work with anxious or reactive dogs. She’s come such a long way, and I’ve helped her grow more confident and calm with consistent care, training, and daily exercise. I’ve also had high-energy breeds (like german shepherds and border collies!) and know how to tailor walks and routines to fit each dog’s needs. Currently my availability is wide open! So I’d happily walk your dog or look after your pet early in the morning or later on at night! Drop in visits are also perfect for me! So I’d happily pop along and spend some time with your little one! Twice if needed! I can pick up and drop off no problem at all! If you’d be out all day I can do doggy day care for £25 however I’d be taking them out for a day trip like rothbury or forrest walks stuff like that, just because my house is a bit small and I rent but I’d like to offer this service since I have a car please get in touch tho if your interested in the doggy day care! I’d supply dog towels if it was raining or go somewhere quite sheltered also if you’d prefer me not to walk in muddy areas I can also do that! Cause I understand how bringing a muddy dog back would be a pain! When pets are in my home I try to make them as comfortable as possible! They are allowed to sit on my sofa no problem and with blankets too! With my own pets I have a set routine so they know when they are going to be fed and when going to bed since I like a routine myself! My rescues border collie likes to have her own bed so she has a cage she sleeps in at night to make her feel safe! So if your pet does to that is completely fine!

There are 266 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in Northumberland. About 89% of Northumberland sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
