About: I have attended obedient classes for dogs, in order to support dog training. I have been walking my neighbours dog on a regular basis. I have been babysitting my son’s dog during holidays, weekends away, etc. we have our own dog now and he is very friendly quite and well behaved dog who always enjoys additional company of our dogs that is why I de used to offer to look after other people’s dogs. I am currently working part time, so I will have plenty of time to look after and play with your dog. I am available for boarding on the weekends and weekdays on Mondays all day. We recently go our own dog who is friendly with a gentle soul and very sociable with other dogs and is always happy to play with other dogs. I have a fenced garden to accommodate and care for your dog as well and plenty of space at home to look after your dog. I love dogs so I will spend a lot of time to play and take care of your dog, taking him on a walk, entertain with toys and spend time with it.

We were very nervous at first having never left our girls with anyone, but we met Corinne and straight away she put us at ease. What a lovely women! It was obvious straight away to us she loved animals and she was fantastic with them on our first meeting. When it came to us being away Corrine kept us up to date with photos and messaged us to put our minds at rest. She also took very good care of our home, we couldn't recommend her enough!! Thank you Corrine

Absolutely amazing service! From the first visit I knew Alannah was the perfect person to look after my dog. I was a bit apprehensive as he is very nervous and has never been left with somebody he doesn’t know really well, but settled perfectly and loved the regular updates and photographs I received throughout my holiday. She is so patient and followed his routine. Also kept my house lovely and tidy too It was very obvious she is an animal lover and genuinely cares for the animals she looks after I could not recommend enough and have booked again for my next holiday ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jessica was a fantastic dog sitter. I felt really at ease knowing my dog was left in such capable hands. She sent regular updates, asked questions rather than just guessing, and truly cared for my dog. I would certainly recommend!

About: I love looking after dogs and am always the go to dog sitter out of all my friends. I have been a dog owner myself, and love caring for dogs. I love all animals, and I'm happy to do drop-ins for any type of animal - other than spiders, I'm terrified of them! I work full time from home so will have lots of availability to support during the week and I am around on some weekends too. I have a fenced garden that is very secure so the dogs will have lots of opportunity to go outside. Adult only home with no other animals.

We can guarantee your loved one is in caring hands they’ll not want the sitting to be over! We do work full time but very flexible times and have the ability to work from home where necessary. Louise has been absolutely BRILLIANT! Louise took such good care of my elderly Dog Padraigh, taking him on some lovely walks and sending me loads of updates and lovely photos of Padraigh, one of which I'm going to get framed. It was so good for Padraigh to be looked after in the comfort of his own home. Highly recommend Louise.

About: Hi everyone 👋🤗 I have owned dogs since 5 years old, with a range from dalmations, staffies to lurchers. I am currently employed with We walk NE dogs, I have a buisness named "Tail Trails by Cheryl" I have experience with dogs of different sizes and needs, including reactive dogs and those that require muzzles. I’m familiar with local parks in the area and have my own transport if needed. I’m fully insured through Pet Business Insurance and hold a recent DBS check, along with a qualification in pet first aid 🐕 Feel free to message me if you’d like any more information or have any questions! I work with we walk NE dogs alongside my own pet walking service. I am flexible and happy to work around my current schedule, with availability over 7 days a week. As I have a reactive dog in my home, I am unable to provide boarding. I offer pet sitting in the owner’s home and always take time beforehand to understand each pets individual needs. This includes feeding, walk schedules, medical needs, allergies, behaviour, triggers, and any reactivity considerations. I aim to maintain each dog’s usual routine so they feel safe and comfortable while their owner is away. Regular updates provided to the owner with preferred method of contact 🐶😺

Ben and his partner Ayla looked after our two spaniels for a week while we were on holiday. They were absolutely brilliant with the dogs! They were happy giving some medication that one of the dogs needed for the week and gave the dogs lots of nice walks on the beach. The dogs were extremely well looked after and looked sad when they left!

About: My husband and I have had pets our entire life, so caring for animals truly comes naturally to us. Although we sadly no longer have our own dog, our love for animals hasn’t changed – and we now have a warm, welcoming home ready to help other families by caring for their dogs and cats when they need it most. I work from home so no pets will be left on their own. Your pet will be part of our routine at all times unless otherwise specified by you as an owner. Our home is very much a home-from-home environment, where pets are treated as part of the family. We have a gentle and animal-loving 2-year-old who absolutely adores pets and has grown up around them, so kindness and respect for animals is something we value deeply in our household. We also have plenty of pets within our wider family, so animals are always part of our lives.

About: I’m a veterinary student with hands-on experience caring for animals of different ages, sizes and temperaments. I have done a range of volunteering/placement at different shelters and organisations. I’m confident handling energetic dogs as well as older pets who may need extra patience and attention. Through my studies and personal experience, I understand animal behaviour, health and safety, and husbandry. I always aim to make pets feel comfortable, cared for and happy while their owners are away. I’m reliable, communicative and genuinely love spending time with animals. I am in my summer holidays of uni with few other commitments so have plenty of time to look after and play with your pets! I enjoy keeping dogs physically and mentally stimulated with games, enrichment activities and exploring local parks and new walking routes. I always adapt to each dog’s energy levels and routine so they feel comfortable and happy.

Elizabeth looked after my 9 year old Lab for the weekend and I arrived home to a happy, chilled dog. I received photos from when she first arrived and also of Archie on his walks (one very long one which he would have loved!). I would recommend Elizabeth and definitely book her again.

About: A highly reliably, friendly dog walker who will keep u updated with your wee chooches adventures! And open to negations on price depending on the circumstances of the walk and your pooches needs :) As a family we owned a kennels and catery so I was brought up around dogs/cats . As such I am very accustomed to caring and dog sitting all sizes, temperaments and ages. Starting with my sisters dogs and then gradually other peoples. I am also highly experienced in navigating dogs with conditions like being deaf, blindness and eating disorders. Growing up I also had 11 dogs, some of which were fostered for charities, some rescued from shelters/Romania and some adopted, all of which I would help look after in all nessary duties. I am also a huge walker and outdoorsy person so I’m probably your go to if a 3 hour walk is what you’re needing, for a more active dog say, a huskie or collie for example. Equally I’ve dog sat more relaxed dogs such as a pug who’d rather just chill, so can work to the needs of your beautful pooch :) I am currently working part-time on Thursday to Saturday so have a lot of flexibility to dog sit and walk your dogs both day or night :) If you are looking for a time on Thursday->saturday don’t worry though, I can walk after work from 6pm onward if needed ( I love walking! ) I’m also free to house sit anytime as long as it does not proceed 2 evenings. I’m very organised so need to cancel and reschedule? Absolutely no bother? I am fortunate to be flexible with when I can offer dog walking so just let me know what works for u! I cannot look after cats in my own home just due to my partners allergies but would be sure to cater to your cats every need. I have had many friends and family with cats so although I’ve not had one of my own I am eager to learn of their routines and needs and make sure they receive plenty of love and attention :)

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 456 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Northumberland. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Northumberland walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Northumberland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
