About: I’ve grown up caring for dogs, including my own Shih Tzu, so I understand their needs and personalities deeply. I’m gentle, patient, and great with both playful pups and senior dogs. I focus on comfort, trust, and keeping each dog happy, safe, and loved—just like they deserve. I work part-time on weekends from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., so I’m free most afternoons and weekdays to walk, play, and care for dogs. Spending time with them fits easily into my routine—it’s something I truly enjoy and look forward to every day! I treat every dog as if they were my own. In a pet owner’s home, I follow their routine carefully—feeding, walking, and playtime just as instructed. I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved, keeping their space clean and cozy while giving them plenty of attention and affection.
About: I have own a dog in the past for 15 years aswell as dog sat my neighbours dog Rosie, 8 year old Jack Russell terrier. I have recently helped a lost dog and invited him in my apartment until we found his owner, providing him love, attention, comfort, food and water. I also enjoy playing Frisbee with my boyfriend's dog Wolf, a 9 year old Border collie. I am willing to seek a career in pet care as I love animals and it breaks my heart when I see animal abuse and neglect or even animals on the streets alone. Sadly, in 2019 my bestfriend Snoopy died which inspired me to help and look after pets. I beilieve that their have rights just as humans do! I would also like to address that I dont own my own transport and would like to travel locally due to not knowing the area due to anixety issues, however your beloved pet is welcome in my property, I dont have some much of a garden but ive lived in Gateshead for 2 weeks now and I am pretty near to Saltwell Park for walks or even a game of frisbee to get enough exercise and fresh air and I can ensure you peice of mind that they are kept on a lesh if required by the owner all times when out and about and wont let them out of my sight. I don't have a garden, but I can ensure you to keep your pet on a leash at all times when going on walks and toilet breaks.
“Kira was fantastic! She had great communication, asked all the right questions and came at short notice to look after Tilly for the afternoon. I felt very confident leaving Tilly in Kira's capable hands and came home to a very happy dog. Will definitely be booking Kira again when Tilly needs some extra company! Thank you Kira from me and Tilly!”

About: I grew up in a 3 cat household and have always been a cat lover. All of ours lived to be around 18/19 years old and lived very full and loving lives. In my adult life I have cared for friends/family cats when they have been away on holiday and enjoy the interactions with cats in general.

About: I’ve grown up around all kinds of animals! I helped out on my uncles farm and my first “job” was volunteering in my local pet shop, I have my own baby girl Winnie (Maine coon) who is super friendly! I have also grown up with my grandparents 12 cats, 2 Gerbils, Bernese mountain dog, Great Dane cross and Newfoundland so I am accustomed to all animals big and small. I have a large fenced garden and Saltwell Park a 5 minute walk down the road. I also drive, so trips to the beach or other green spaces is a guarantee. I am a teacher so I am off every weekend and I get all school holidays off and have no foreseeable travel plans. I have a big garden and large open plan downstairs as well as a huge local park 5 minutes walk away which I visit regularly. I am generally active and playful with animals! I have a fenced garden and local park close by, I drive so can pick up/drop off and do day trips to the beach etc. My current cat is indoor only but she has full roam of the house and gets harnessed outdoor time in the garden for enrichment. I would be happy to cater for indoor or outdoor cats though and she is very comfortable with dogs having come from a mixed pet household and having met all our friends pets.
“Vlada was incredible taking care of our pets. When we got home the house was flawless and the pets very happy, healthy and calm. They really liked Vlada and so did us. Super recommend and definitely we will call Vlada again when we travel. The communication was great, we received photos and videos and the pets were happy at it.”

“Katie was excellent, a total life-saver for us. She’s so attentive, excellent communication and very patient. Roy is not the easiest of terriers but Katie was superb with him. Would defo recommend her and we would book her again no problem.”

“What can we say about Holly?! Well, she's kind, caring, attentive, respectful of your home, very patient with your fur baby & gives a 5 star service. We were nervous at leaving our older dog with someone other than family but we shouldn't have been as Mollie was in perfect hands. Walked, fed & loved everyday as well as given her meds & massaged as our older furry lady has arthritis. Can't wait for her next visit.”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Gateshead
I honestly couldn’t have asked for better dog sitters. I was quite nervous as it was my first time leaving them, but they completely put me at ease from the start. They kept me updated regularly with messages and photos, which really reassured me while I was away. It was clear both my dog and cat were being really well looked after and given lots of care and attention. I came home to a spotless house, which was such a lovely touch and really appreciated. Everything felt calm, tidy, and just as I’d left it. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, caring pet sitters. I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again.

Vlada was amazing, we made a last minute booking and they were still happy to do a meet and greet as it was the first time we had a dog sitter in our flat. Fionn had the best time, Vlada sent us loads of pictures and took him on loads of walks which made us feel so comfortable! Our flat was left super clean and was an overall lovely experience and would definitely book her again!

I would 100% recommend Anastasia to anyone needing someone to look after your pets! Anastasia and her partner looked after my dog, Nellie and my cat, Mango at my home for a few days while we went London. They were both so friendly and formed such a good bond with Nellie and Mango straight away! Anastasia sent over loads of photos while we were away and kept in contact regularly, her communication was always so quick and was very reassuring. Mango and Nellie looked like they had such a fun time and I will definitely be reaching out when I need a pet sitter in the future! Thank you both so much for the last minute booking and how much care and love you showed towards Nellie and Mango, I appreciate it so much!😊

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Gateshead walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gateshead choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
