“Maya was absolutely great. This was the first time I’d had a sitter stay in my home whilst I was away. Maya kept me up to date with regular photos and messages. The dogs loved her and she looked after them like her own. I definitely recommend Maya.”

“Absolutely amazing service! From the first visit I knew Alannah was the perfect person to look after my dog. I was a bit apprehensive as he is very nervous and has never been left with somebody he doesn’t know really well, but settled perfectly and loved the regular updates and photographs I received throughout my holiday. She is so patient and followed his routine. Also kept my house lovely and tidy too It was very obvious she is an animal lover and genuinely cares for the animals she looks after I could not recommend enough and have booked again for my next holiday ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs since was able to walk, I take my own dogs into daily and always love the company. Walking is my safe space and dogs are too which is why this job is so well fitted for me I look after my own dogs daily so it’s routine for me. Normally I go to gym early then walk the dogs before lunch and at tea time. I leave close to the sea so a beach trip is manditory! I have a fenced garden with one friendly cocker spaniel at home, she loves running and especially the. beach and playing on a field, I’m always happy to bring her along with me!
“This was the first time we were leaving our cat Fruit for an extended period of time, which of course came with some nerves that were resolved instantly by Roxanne. She was incredible in every single way, from being patient with our little girl (who came out of her shell instantly due to Roxanne’s nurturing personality) to constant updates when we were in Vienna. I would highly recommend Roxanne to look after your fur baby as I know we won’t be looking anywhere else.”

“Elsa sent updates throughout her stay and nothing was too much trouble for her. Dogs seemed very calm and happy on our return, so obviously were not stressed by her presence. A perfect guest in our home and we'll certainly ask her again. 😊🙏🏻”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have always loved being with them. Our family had a Jack Russell–Yorkshire Terrier cross, and alongside pet sitting for clients in their homes, I’ve also cared for dogs belonging to family and friends. I have experience with a variety of breeds, including Labradors, Pugs, French Bulldogs, Dachshunds, and many more, so I’m comfortable adapting to different personalities, sizes, and routines. I live in a two-bedroom Tyneside flat, so my home is best suited to smaller breeds, ensuring they have a comfortable and relaxed space during their stay. I love building a bond with every dog I look after. Whether we’re heading out for an walk, playing games at home, or enjoying a quiet cuddle on the sofa, I like to make every dog feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’m reliable, responsible, and caring, and I always follow each dog’s individual routine. From feeding at specific times to administering medication when needed, I’ll make sure your dog’s needs are met exactly as you request. I provide a calm, comfortable environment where they can settle in and feel at home. One of my favourite parts of pet sitting is getting to know each dog’s unique little personality. I love welcoming back repeat clients and seeing familiar faces return, it’s so rewarding when dogs remember me and are excited for another stay! It makes me happy 💜 I’m also creative and love taking plenty of photos and videos, so you’ll receive regular updates and can see exactly what your dog has been up to while you’re away 🥰🐾 I’m work for myself on laptop, a few hours a week. I do this from home so I have plenty of time to play with your pets and give them lots of love and attention. Your dog will be walked according to their usual routine, so whether they enjoy shorter strolls or longer adventures, I’ll make sure they get the exercise they’re used to. They’ll also be let out for toilet breaks at the times they normally go, helping to keep their routine as familiar as possible. I live close to the coast, so if your dog enjoys the beach, I’m happy to take them on seaside walks too. While they’re with me, they’ll be treated like family 💕 They’ll receive plenty of love, attention, playtime, and cuddles, as well as a calm, comfortable place to relax. I’ll always follow your instructions and keep to your dog’s normal routine, so they feel safe, settled, and happy throughout their stay.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - North Tyneside
Jess was amazing with Bindi and our home. Unlike others, we came home to a clean home as well a happy dog and all in order. We also asked Jess to help us out for a few extra hours because our flights were delayed and she was happy to help out with covering that extra time to feed Bindi and make sure all was ok at home before we made it back. She sent us photos and made sure we were informed and was responsive to messages and requests, so thank you so much Jess. We really appreciate it.

OMG! There are not enough positive words in the English dictionary to describe Jessica ! I have used Rovers 3 times now in total (all different sitters). First one was amazing, second left me extremely anxious and third.. well you know the saying, third times the charm!! Jessica honestly showed so much love to our tornado! He is a handful at first, where he wants your non stop attention and will bark at you. He will then kiss you a million times if he loves you. I came home just now, and it was like we weren’t away. He genuinely wasn’t fussed we were back and I was like “ok then! This is great!” I want to list the things I honestly adore about Jessica: - She gave me continuous updates on Buddy - She didn’t have to, but she walked him - She is so friendly! - You can tell she loves animals! - She isn’t just friendly to animals, she is extremely friendly to everyone else she speaks with! - Has such a positive, energetic attitude! - She left the house in such a clean state ♥️ I said to my husband I wouldn’t want to go abroad due to the last time. But Jessica honestly was so amazing that I have decided to go away later in the year and book her again ! Honestly thank you so much! I have never felt more at ease leaving Buddy before ♥️ If anyone is considering booking her, DO IT! You will honestly be so happy with her!! Your babies will be cared for so well!

Oh my goodness! I don’t think there are enough words to describe how amazing Alannah is!! We found ourselves in a pet parents worst nightmare! We flew out of the country for a holiday, and 6 hours after our pet sitters were meant to have already been at our house, they informed us they couldn’t do the sit. Complete panic sent in and we didn’t know what to do. We panicked and started messaging friends and family as by this point our pets had been left nearly 15 hours. We messaged Alannah and she replied within minutes and within an hour she had arranged absolutely everything for her to be able to come and sit for us. The whole process of speaking with her and booking her in to start her sit the next day was so easy. We had never used CIAF before so she helped with absolutely everything. We will 100% be happy to invite Alannah to sit for us again. The peace of mind she brings and the updates she sends made us feel very much at ease about the situation. Our Babies were very well taken care of and we came home to 4 very content animals, so much so I don’t think the cats even realised we went away 😅🤣 Thank you so much for being so wonderful, we appreciate absolutely everything you did to help us. You literally saved our holiday and rescued us from an awful situation. 100% recommend! If you’re lucky enough to get this wonderful lady to sit for you then take the opportunity! ❤️❤️

Corrie was an absolute hero - we had an emergency a needed last minute cover. Corrie was super quick to respond, very friendly, polite, accommodating and willing to help at short notice. Corrie was conscious to ensure she understood Thea’s routine and how best to care for her which was very reassuring and put me at ease. I would absolutely recommend Corrie to others and we will certainly use her services in the future ourselves.

Olivia provided the best of care for our 3 fur babies for the full week we were in holiday. A* care, plenty of updates for the anxious parents, without Olivia we wouldn’t of been able to enjoy our holiday she kept us at ease, kept our babies safe and gave them plenty of care and exercise Would recommend Olivia if you need your pets given the best of care

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Tyneside choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
