I cant recommend Jade highly enough. She was absolutely amazing with bubbles and he adored her. She kept me up to date with photos and videos of his little antics which really put my mind at rest. Nothing was too much trouble and she completely understood how much your pet means to you and how much you worry about them when your away. Will definitely be using Jade again.

Lindsey was very friendly and reassuring as my young dog went away for the first time with her. ‘Frankie’ came back happy and tired and I would recommend Lindsey as you can see she loves dogs and Frankie was happy with her too.

About: Animals are my absolute passion. I’ve spent my life surrounded by pets, and I spent 6 months working in a veterinary clinic as a trainee veterinary nurse. While I chose not to complete the full qualification, the intensive, hands-on experience I gained was invaluable. I am incredibly comfortable handling animals of all temperaments, recognising subtle signs of illness or discomfort, administering medication if required, and maintaining a safe environment. If your pet needs an extra attentive eye or a calm, confident handler, they are in safe hands with me. Personal Pet Care Experience: My personal life is just as animal-focused! My experience includes: Dogs: I have years of experience walking and caring for my parents' energetic Labrador, so I'm well-versed in the needs of larger, active breeds. I completed a series of obedience training courses with him when he was a pup. Cats: I have two cats at home who are my whole world; I understand cat care, play, and respecting boundaries for more aloof cats! Small/Farm Animals: I also care for three rescue, ex-battery chickens who live out their retirement in my garden. I have a soft spot for rescues and don't mind getting my hands dirty! I had a rabbit when I was a kid who lived to the ripe old age of 10. I'm currently self employed, working no more than 1 day a week and exclusively from home. I'm available at short notice and happy to fit my client work around looking after your family members. I have 2 cats and 3 chickens at home, so home boarding would only be something I could offer for the right animal. In your home however, I am respectful, clean, and tidy - the safety of your animal is my top priority. As I have 2 house cats, double checking doors and windows are shut is always on my mind! I'm very active but happy to adjust activity levels to the needs of your pet, I'm a huge animal lover and seeing a happy animal is the ultimate reward!

Beth was so great with my cats, she replied quickly, sent regular updates and took the time to play with and give attention to my more outgoing cat and had patience with my other who is really anxious, making sure she got fed in whatever quiet spot she was hiding in. would definitely recommend!

About: Hey! Im Kay, I’m 28 years old & I’ve grown up around dogs of all breeds my whole life. I am fully insured, DBS checked & Canine first aid trained I’ve always been the kind of person who just understands animals. I’m calm, patient and naturally tuned into their behaviour which is why I do not believe in a one size fits all approach to dog walking. I have personal experience with my own reactive dog, which is why I take my time to understand each dog properly; their personality, their needs, their quirks and build trust at their pace. Some dogs want calm, some want adventure and some just need someone who understands them without pushing too much. I have done multiple training courses covering all kinds of canine care. I am also looking to further my education in reactive dog handling. My prices do reflect the fact I am new to the dog walking business, but I am confident in my skills, I am taking things easy while I gain confidence with meeting new people and running a business, but I can’t wait to meet you and your companions! My days are pretty flexible. I do dog walking and pet services 7 days a week 9am-5pm. I don’t often offer services outside of these hours because of other commitments but that may vary Meet and greet!….. I do not offer pet sitting in my home, my reactive little guy would not be impressed with that! HOWEVER! I do offer pet sitting in YOUR home. I can pop in for the pee breaks! Or I can hang out with your hound! Let me know their routine and I can fit right into it I have a spacious and reliable dog proofed car! My car is my absolute pride and joy so I am constantly keeping up on it’s maintenance ensuring your dogs safety and my cruising enjoyment! I have dog friendly seat belts and attachments, I’m also always equipped with a full outdoor first aid kit! And I supply dog tags with my details on to clip to your dog as extra precaution. I am DBS Checked

About: i’ve grown up all my life with cats, i worked in a cat cafe in newcastle for nearly 2 years and helped find forever homes for each cat after the cafe closed. my older sister has two dogs, one small and one large and i often take them for walks and dog sit them! I love animals and am more than happy to meet new furry friends and take care of them whenever needed :) i currently work part time and i am off uni for the summer so besides occasional concerts i will have a lot of time to spend with your kitties/doggies. i will only ever accept to take care of them on days where i will have the whole day free to spend time with them to ensure they get the best care and attention they deserve! i want them to feel as safe as possible, i will only approach them when it’s clear they are comfortable, i go outside with them to always keep my eyes on them and i make sure they are well fed!

About: I absolutely love dogs and have grown up with them in my family for many years. Caring for dogs has always been a natural part of my life, from daily walks and feeding to playtime and lots of affection. I now have my own dog, Otis, who is 1 year old, so I understand how important it is for owners to feel their pet is safe, happy and well cared for. I’m comfortable with different breeds, energetic dogs that love long walks, and giving plenty of attention and cuddles. I will always treat every dog as if they were my own. My partner works away regularly meaning it is just me and Otis most days! We need extra cuddles and fun especially on weekends. I work a hybrid job mid-week, which means I’m home a lot and able to give dogs plenty of attention, company and regular walks throughout the day. Weekends are also perfect as I have lots of free time to dedicate to pet care. I love getting outdoors with my dog Otis and exploring all the beautiful walks around Northumberland. Your dog will enjoy plenty of exercise, fresh air and adventures while staying with me. Your dog’s safety, comfort and happiness are my top priorities. I have my own friendly 1-year-old dog, Otis, who loves the company of other dogs and is used to regular walks and playtime. I always follow each dog’s usual routine for feeding, exercise and rest to help them feel settled and relaxed. I provide a calm, loving environment and will send regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your dog is happy and well cared for.

About: I provide dependable, personalized care tailored to each dog’s unique temperament, with experience handling reactive, nervous, and overly friendly dogs using calm, reward-based, force-free, encouragement-based, praise-and-reward techniques. Skilled in puppy training, leash manners, socialization, senior care, medication administration, and mobility support, I ensure safety, structure, and consistent updates for total peace of mind. I believe every dog deserves more than just a walk — they deserve care, attention, and joy along the way. With a background in professional care, I bring reliability, patience, and a calm approach to every pet I look after. I tailor each walk to your dog’s needs, whether it’s a gentle stroll, an energetic adventure, or extra reassurance for nervous pups. More than exercise, my walks are about building trust and keeping tails wagging, so you can feel confident your best friend is safe, happy, and truly cared for. Pet care is at the heart of my routine — it isn’t something I fit around, it’s something I plan my day around. I structure my schedule to make sure dogs get walked on time, fed when needed, and given plenty of attention. Whether it’s morning walks, midday drop-ins, or evening check-ins, I keep a steady rhythm so pets feel secure and owners know they can rely on me every week.

About: I’ve owned dogs since the age of 7 and have grown up around them, so caring for dogs feels very natural to me. I have plenty of experience with both dogs and puppies and understand how important routine, patience, affection, and a safe environment are for happy pets. As a busy family home, there will always be someone home to give your dog plenty of attention, company, care, and cuddles throughout the day. I’m a mum to 2-year-old twins and a 10-month-old baby, all of whom are very gentle, loving, and used to being around dogs. We’re an active household and are more than happy to take dogs on lots of walks and little adventures while they stay with us. Your dog will be treated as part of the family and given lots of love, playtime, comfort, and one-to-one attention during their stay at The Wagging Retreat 🐾 Pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine as I am currently on maternity leave and at home full-time. This means dogs are never left alone for long periods and can enjoy regular feeding, toilet breaks, playtime, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I have 2-year-old twins, so our days already include outdoor walks and time in the park, which works brilliantly for dog walks and little adventures. Nap times allow for calm bonding, grooming, and training, while evenings are relaxed and settled, making it ideal for cuddles and companionship. Overall, my schedule is flexible and home-based, allowing me to provide consistent care, supervision, and lots of love in a family environment. When caring for pets in my home, they are treated as part of the family. I have a fully fenced, newly refurbished back garden where dogs can safely go outside to toilet and get fresh air whenever needed. Because I’m at home full-time, I’m able to keep a close eye on them, maintain their usual routine, and give them lots of attention throughout the day. Dogs have regular walks, playtime, and plenty of cuddles, as well as quiet time to rest. Feeding times, medication (if required), and any specific instructions from the owner are followed carefully. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I stick closely to their usual routine to help pets feel comfortable and settled. This includes feeding, walks, toilet breaks, playtime, and companionship, as well as keeping the home clean and secure. I always aim to provide calm, reliable, and loving care so owners feel confident their pet is happy and safe.

About: I've been around dogs my whole life, since I was just about able to walk actually. My family, both immediate and extended, has always kept dogs and I've always made it my mission to have a good rapport with them. I'm passionate about their care and making sure they're well looked after. I have a fully enclosed garden and live 5 minutes away from Cramlington nature reserve and some wide open fields below the hospital. We're big fans of enrichment games and general playing if your dog likes it. I do understand however, that every dog is unique and some may just want to chill out on their own. Please let me know as much information as you can give about your pet and their unique personality, likes, dislikes etc. I have experience with anxious dogs and trigger issues, as my own Springer, Bailey, is an anxious lad and has various triggers when outside in the world, so I've learned a lot firsthand with him. He is a great house dog, just the world is very overwhelming for him at times. I'm currently between jobs, so I am totally free to take care of and devote all my attention to your best friend as long as they are in my care. I have a totally enclosed garden and live very close to Cramlington Nature Reserve and a multitude of other walking paths. They will be entirely free to roam the house as they please, sit on the sofas or lounge in the garden (weather permitting, of course). They will be treated as my own when in my care. Plenty of enrichment games, be it a snuffle mat, folded up kitchen roll tubes to shred etc.

About: I’ve owned animals my whole life up until recently, after my senior pup sadly passed away! Good with puppies who need entertaining and tiring out, as well elderly pets who need a calming and more subdued presence. Looked after many of my friends pets such as cats and dogs - even my sisters tortoise! Confident with smaller animals too like hamsters and guinea pigs. Have a good inkling for training basics with puppies such as sit, wait etc. I work in the film industry and work away when I have a contract, things are very quiet at the moment so I have complete free availability to look after your pets and available at short notice for your needs! Depending on what your fur baby needs, I’ll be there! Playtime with a new young pup, someone to sit with your elderly dog and keep them company… long or short walks or someone to help with a little bit of basic training if you’re out the house all day. I’m a very easy going individual who is confident with dogs and provide the specific care they need

About: Experienced, reliable dog sitter offering loving, family-friendly care — with a calm, kid-safe environment and years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all kinds. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I plan my days around walks, playtime, and feeding schedules to make sure every dog gets the attention and care they deserve. Whether it’s morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening cuddles, I’m consistent and reliable with every pet I look after. Whether pets are staying with me or I’m visiting them in their own home, I make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for. At my home, dogs enjoy a calm, family setting with lots of space, walks, and company from my friendly, well-behaved dog. In a pet owner’s home, I respect their routines — feeding times, walk schedules, and any special instructions — so their pets feel happy and settled while their owners are away.

Amazing service again with Hayley. My little dogs love people and love hugs and attention. Hayley always spends time playing with them. They are vocal when out and about and Alfie particularly can be quite reactive to other dogs. We are always confident Hayley can manage this well as she has got to know them. At some point they may learn personal space and not sit on her head whenever she comes but they sure do love her

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Northumberland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
