About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I know how much our pets mean to us. they're family! Leaving them with someone else can be a big decision. That's why I do everything I can to make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home while they're with me. I love getting to know each pet's unique personality, whether they're full of energy and love to play, or prefer a slower pace with plenty of cuddles and company. I'll follow their usual routine as closely as possible because I know how important consistency is for helping pets feel happy and settled. As a dog owner myself, I understand the little things that matter: regular walks, mealtimes, playtime, naps, belly rubs, and lots of affection. Your pet won't just be looked after—they'll be treated like part of the family. I'll keep you updated with photos and messages along the way, so you can see exactly how much fun they're having and enjoy peace of mind while you're away. 🐾💕 I work part-time and also spend days working from home, which means I have the time and flexibility to give pets lots of attention and company throughout the day. Our days usually start with breakfast and a walk, and I love taking dogs out to enjoy the nearby fields and nature walks. Whether they enjoy exploring, sniffing every blade of grass, or simply getting some fresh air, I'll make sure they get the exercise and stimulation they need. I have a friendly Cockapoo puppy, Milo, and a cat called Tilly, so being around animals is a big part of my everyday life and something I genuinely enjoy. I know how important routine is for pets, as it's something I follow with my own animals. Milo has regular walks, consistent meal times, plenty of playtime, and lots of opportunities to rest and recharge. When caring for your pet, I'll do my best to stick to their usual routine so they feel comfortable, settled, and at ease.

I can’t thank Fiona enough for looking after my 3 cats on Christmas Day! Fiona visited my property for a meet and greet before hand and sent me numerous amounts of videos and pictures of the cats playing with the catnip toys she brought. About: I’ve always grew up around dogs and have a cockapoo of my own who is turning 6 this year. He is my pride and joy and have had him since he was a puppy. I should be available to mind your dog when my beloved boy is not in the house which is usually every other weekend as he goes to stay with other family. I work full time so would not be able to take your dog unless I was off work during the week. I am usually available on weekends , please feel free to message so I can check availability and in some cases re- arrange things. I would be available most evenings if required for dog walk or dog sit. My current work schedule is: Tuesday 8.30-6.30 Wednesday 8.30- 6 Thursday 8.30-6.30 Friday 8.30- 6.30 My partner finishes work at 2.30 on a Friday. Please message with any requests as unless I am working I can usually be quite flexible with my arrangements as my dog enjoys his sleep overs with other family. I have a high fenced back yard. I am happy to take any bedding/ blankets belonging to the pet to make them feel more comfortable within my own home. I also allow dogs on my furniture and bed as feel they should be treated like part of the family . The dog would never be left alone within my care where I go they go and if they don’t like social settings that’s fine, walks and chills on the sofa also work for me! For every dog I consider taking I would like to meet the dog and owners to understand the dog and make sure I can meet its needs. I am also happy to send owners updates of the dog when they are under my care as I know it’s Important to know your dog is having a good time!

About: I’ve been a dog-carer for 8 years and have good knowledge and confidence for our canine babies! I was brought up with dogs and other pets too; I’m all round an animal lover and seem to have created my adult life around this! I originally trained in behaviour therapy and counselling at university 10 years ago and now moved on to nursing, which I will qualify in this summer. I love animals and look after them as much as I can in my spare time. At home I have an elderly cat and 4 chickens. I share a collie dog part time also. I currently work part time and choose my own hours. My daughter is in school. My family and I look after dogs regularly and we have our own too. I’m a very active and healthy person, knowledgable of walks to suit any dog in the area and my home is very spacious with a fenced yard. I am a regular attender to dog festivals, training seminars and canine health. I am passionate for our canine babies and look forward to providing the best care so you can get the time you need! I have a very friendly collie who is in perfect t health and is neutered. My back yard is fenced and home is spacious. We take daily walks in open spaces for dogs to explore and play. At home we play stimuli games and I have dog puzzles too. I have a daughter who is in school but loves dogs too and already has a great understanding. She has been around dogs her entire life as I dog sit, board and walk dogs for friends and family. The health and happiness of the dog is priority and I make sure they’re kept to the best standards.

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other South Tyneside pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Tyneside choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
