About: Dog owner, animal lover, and someone who’ll care for your pet as if they were my own. I’m reliable, friendly and understand how important it is to keep pets happy, safe and comfortable while you’re away. I work Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with some days working from home, which gives me flexibility for walks, drop-in visits and pet care. I’m also available most evenings and weekends, making me a great option for regular walks, holiday cover and weekend pet sitting. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important trust is. I’ll always put your pet’s safety and wellbeing first, stick to their usual routine, and treat them with the same love and care I give my own dog. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages for peace of mind.

“Lauren and her partner were great with Stevie. She arranged a last minute meet and greet to reassure us and was very flexible with drop off/pick up times. Stevie had a great day, made herself at home and enjoyed her walks and cuddles. Lauren gave us updates throughout the day. We would use definitely use Lauren again and recommend to others ⭐️”

About: I always have dogs in my house, my own, and from family, friends or neighbors who would leave them with me anytime needed. I'm very used to walking dogs and taking great care of them! I'm currently a stay-at-home mom, so I can take the dogs for a walk, play in the yard, and keep them happy and safe all day long. I have a fenced yard and an old fury baby - Lilica (14 years old, but very active). I also can easily keep the dogs apart if needed.
“Sam was very welcoming to us and our Dog Poppy during a meet and greet. We are new to this and were nervous about the whole sitter and day care scenario but Sam made us relaxed and Poppy enjoyed her visit and time in Sam's home. We look forward to booking Sam going forward and also highly reccomend!. Thank you.”

About: I offer a dog care service focused on attention, affection, and safety. I strictly follow your walking and feeding routines so your pet feels comfortable, calm, and happy. I can take care of your pet from Monday to Friday from 1:00 pm and some weekends all day. Your dog will be well taken care of with me. I have a secure, enclosed garden where dogs can enjoy some outdoor time safely. I will always supervise the dogs and make sure they are comfortable and well cared for. I have a child who loves dogs, but I will make sure the dog has a calm and safe environment.
“I cannot recommend Sima & her partner Kristina enough. They have helped me massively over the last few weeks. Even took my little puppy Izzie with only an hours notice. They are great with her and I never worry about leaving her. I don’t know what I would do without them.”

“Phoebe was amazing. Stella had the best time and it was clear when picking Stella up that they had the best day! Thank you very much for attending to all of Stella’s puppy needs for the whole day!!”

“Hannah looked after my 11-week-old puppy for two days, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. As it was my first time leaving such a young puppy with a dog sitter, I was a bit anxious, but Hannah put me completely at ease from the moment we met. She kept me updated throughout the day with messages and photos. It was clear that my puppy was well cared for and in safe hands the entire time. I’ve already booked with her again for a few weeks time, I would recommend to anyone looking for a dog sitter ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Jess was excellent from the first message all the way to pick up time. She treated Piper like her own & kept me updated with lots of pictures throughout the day. Piper looked like she had a great day with her!”

“Meenu had a wonderful day with Louise. We receive frequent updates and liaise closely about pickup times. Louise is always helpful and flexible, which we really appreciate.”

“Leo had a brilliant time with Matthew and family especially Amber, who is one of the sweetest dogs i have had the pleasure of meeting. I have no qualms leaving Leo in their care, and his excitement when I turn into the street is comforting. Would highly recommend.”

“Samantha did a perfect job for us looking after our anxious Bichon Archie. My mind was put at rest straight away and I really appreciated the pictures and messages I received throughout his stay there. I will definitely use Samantha again. Thank you so much.”

“Jessica and Sam were lovely with my nervous rescue Taco and she warmed to them very quickly. We did a day of daycare to help her get comfortable with Jessica and Sam in their home before the overnight boarding we have booked next month. It went really well - they stuck closely to the management we do when out on a walk to keep her reactivity in check which was great. Jessica provided very responsive communication and was super easy to deal with. I'm feeling confident that Taco will be very well cared for when she boards for a weekend next month.”

Ana Luisa & her two little kids looked after Bramble at late notice, they were lovely. Very communicative & Bramble had a lot of fun, a couple walks and some plays and came back a happy pup. I would definitely use Ana Luisa again, and recommend her for dogs that are OK with children.

Colette was excellent. She proposed a free meet up before hand so that we could both assess the suitability of the other which I really appreciated. It was great to know that Thea was going to get along with her and Reggie. She sent regular photos and clearly tried to follow the ‘structure’ we’d asked her to follow for Thea’s eating and, critically, sleeping. Colette was friendly and confident and clearly knew her stuff which put me at ease. Reggie, despite being 5 x the weight of Thea, looks to have got on really well and is a gentle giant despite his own young years. We will absolutely be happy to use Colette again.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
