About: What sets me apart is availability and consistency. I work from home full-time, so dogs are never left alone and always have consistent supervision and company. I live in a calm, spacious two-bedroom house that’s ideal for in-home boarding. I’ve looked after dogs for several years through social platforms as well as for friends and family, and I’m comfortable following different routines and needs. I enjoy regular walks and providing attentive, reliable care. I’m especially well suited to puppies who need structure and senior dogs who benefit from a quieter, closely monitored environment. I work from home full-time, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m always available for supervision, regular walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Dogs are never left alone for long periods and are part of my day rather than worked around. I provide a safe and clean home environment where dogs are well attended. Because I work from home, pets are never left unattended and their routines are followed carefully. My home is well suited for boarding, with plenty of space for dogs to settle comfortably, and I make sure walks, feeding, and rest are structured and consistent. I always prioritise a dog’s comfort, safety, and wellbeing while they’re in my care.

“Simba had a lovely first day with James. He had a long walk, tasty treats and met a new doggy friend. I got some great photos which showed how comfortable he was and how well he settled in there. Very well recommended.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs in my life since the age of 15 and have always loved being around my friends’ and family’s dogs. I truly enjoy taking them out for walks, teaching them new tricks, and getting to know their unique, quirky personalities. Dogs have always felt like part of the family to me, and I care for them with the same love, patience, and attention. I’m currently working so will have limited availability to start with but hoping to expand this when I can! I have a car so can easily travel short distances I have a fenced good sized back garden and can easily accommodate to the dogs needs. I have a car which can be used for transport
About: At my dog sitting service, I am proud to providing top-notch care for dogs with a personal touch. For example: puppy and senior care, video calls with the owner, daily reports about how we spent the day, online tracker ( walking routes, location) with a 24/7 acces via app, home made cooked healthy meals (optional). I'm mainly at home all day, but I have cctv access with a speaker option if I need to go out. I never leave a dog at home alone who is with me for the first time and I am not sure what to expect from them exactly. I have a fully closed rear garden and a friendly tiny dog, Bobby (11, Shi-tzu mix :). Dogs can use sofas, beds if they are allowed at their home as well. I only use crate at a special request of the owner. Dog walks are only on-leash.

About: I am QLS Level 3 Animal Care, Pet First Aid & Pet CPR qualified, and carry a pet first aid kit with me at all times. I am a passionate animal lover; I volunteered for Sheffield Retired Greyhound Trust until I moved to the North East in 2024, spending my Saturday mornings caring for and walking rescue greyhounds. I grew up with two of my own dogs. I have been providing dog walking services since 2017, and daycare and boarding since 2019, meaning I have over 15 years of experience taking care of dogs. 🐶 I have a calm and quiet home, and can provide enrichment and plenty of attention, especially if your dog loves a sofa cuddle! I pride myself in being reliable and communicative, so you know your dog is in the best hands. I live near Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve, and hold a Durham Wildlife Trust membership to walk dogs in a variety of different places so they don't get bored. 🌳 I organise a pre-meet before all boarding bookings to check that you and your dog feel comfortable with me, my partner Cal, and our home, to make sure we're a good fit for your dog and vice versa. We don't have any of our own pets, and I only care for one family's pets at a time, to ensure I can provide the best one to one love and care; a real home away from home. 🥰 When your dog is in my care, I treat them as if they were my own. I will provide you with regular photo 'pupdates' on how they are and what they're getting up to. 🐾 I work from home, so I can offer boarding and daycare for dogs and small furries (separately, or together if from the same famiy). I can only cater for dogs with separation anxiety for daycare, but not for boarding. I live in a calm and quiet detached house with a decent sized fenced-in garden, with my partner Cal. We don’t have any of our own pets, and I only care for one family’s pets at a time, to ensure I can provide the best one to one love and care.

About: I've been running my own pet sitting business for some time and have always had a passion for caring for animals. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust. I have a friendly 2-year-old Labrador and a black cat called Spider, so I'm experienced with both dogs and cats and their different needs. I love spending time outdoors, so your dog will enjoy plenty of walks, exercise, and attention. I also live just five minutes from the beach, which is perfect for fun walks in a safe and stimulating environment. Whether your pet loves adventure or prefers a slower pace, I'll make sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and treated like one of my own. Pet care is a big part of my daily routine, as I run my own pet sitting business and have the flexibility to provide reliable care throughout the week. I plan my schedule around the pets I'm looking after, ensuring they receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and companionship. Living just five minutes from the beach also means I can offer enjoyable walks in a great location, helping dogs stay happy and active while in my care. Your pet's safety, happiness, and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, preferences, and any special requirements so they can feel as relaxed as possible while in my care. Whether I'm caring for your pet in your home or mine, I'll make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, exercise, and regular updates so you have peace of mind. At home, pets will be welcomed into a safe, clean, and pet friendly environment. I have a friendly 2 year old Labrador who enjoys the company of other dogs, as well as a black cat called Spider who is used to living with dogs. I have an enclosed garden with lots of toys too! I also live just five minutes from the beach, making it easy to provide fun, enriching walks. I always treat every pet as if they were my own and strive to make their stay as enjoyable and stress free as possible.
“My spaniel Winnie can be a little shy when she first meets new people, but she loved Charlotte from the moment she met her! She’s always so excited to visit and runs straight out of the car and up to Charlotte’s front door which is such a great sign. I trust Charlotte with Winnie and she’s very reliable too so I would highly recommend.”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Sunderland
Romana was lovely. Chester was nervous going into a new environment, but she reassured him and kept me updated. When it was time to leave he wanted to stay. Sounds like Chester and Dayo had fun playing with toys and getting cuddles. Thanks again and see you on 2026

Rufus had the best time with Adele! He was settled and clearly feeling at home within minutes of arriving, and it was lovely to leave him without the worry that he'd be nervous/anxious. Adele sent lots of lovely updates and it was great to see Rufus having so much fun - we'll definitely book again :)

This is our second booking with Pip and we would highly recommend him. Our two labradoodles are quite excitable on walks but he handled them really well and gave them lots of attention and play time. His communication was excellent we got lots of pics and messages throughout the day and when we picked them up they were happy and content. Thank you very much!

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
