“Vinnie has absolutely loved his stay with Adele. The updates we received from her daily was fantastic! Wonderful dog lover and very trustworthy! Adele’s dogs are fantastic with other dogs and your pooch will definitely come back exhausted! -(which is delightful) Will certainly be using Adele in future.”

“Blu has had the most amazing long weekend with Georgia and her family! He was treat as one of her own pets and given so much love throughout his stay! I was kept updated all weekend with photos and videos and it was clear to see how much Blu was well cared for. I would recommend Georgia 10/10, it felt like he went from home to home and Blu cannot wait for his next stay :) thank you so so much! Xxx”

“I had to organise a day trip to London for work at short notice, and I was unable to find someone to look after my dog overnight and during the day in the whole of Newcastle. Luckily Csilla accepted, and we did a meet&greet the day before. Her family took excellent care of Gizmo, to the point that, once I collected him, he wanted to go back to their home! Highly recommended and will definitely used her again.”

“Excellent dog sitter, sent plenty of pictures and let me know what was going on and my dog seemed like he was at ease with her, very freindly and good sitter :).”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! From the moment we met, we knew Nemo was in loving and capable hands. We got regular updates, adorable photos, and total peace of mind while we were away. Our dog came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. We’re so grateful and will absolutely book again. Highly recommend!”

About: Ever since my fur baby passed away last year I’ve so missed having a dog around. I love all breeds of dogs, having owned German Shepherds and previously been boarding a Cane Corso, large breeds are welcome here❤️ I work full time, however my early mornings (before 7.15am) or my evenings after 4pm are always free. I typically have a Monday off of work and free all day then, I can board dogs Sunday (after work), overnight and all day Monday. I will have more flexibility in June - being able to board for days/weeks at a time. I have an enclosed front and back garden, with the back garden having high fences, I have back patio doors to allow the dog to come freely in and out of the house. Your pet can treat my home like their home, I want them to feel comfortable with me and enjoy their time here. Whether that be snuggled up together on the sofa or giving them their own space wherever they prefer.
“Bella loved her stay with Sarah, in so much she's seems a bit down not to still be with her. We went away for a week and Sarah kept us up to date with daily photos and messages which showed bella having a great time . Friendly and helpful throughout Sarah let Bella have the run of the house and looked after her brilliantly. We will definitely use Sarah again and some of our friends have already made inquiries about they dogs. Many , many thanks to Sarah for a professional and smooth weeks stay .”

“Cooper had a brilliant time on his holiday with Rebecca and her family. She was extremely welcoming and attentive to his needs. Our pre meet was extremely helpful and gave us an opportunity to ask lots of questions beforehand. She provided daily updates as agreed with photos and short videos of his time there. This gave us peace of mind he was enjoying himself whilst we were away. Messages are responded to quickly and she was very flexible with pick up/drop off times and also with activities for dog walking based on the weather during a mini heat wave. Rebecca lives near a nature park so Cooper thoroughly enjoyed his daily walks exploring and getting out into the open fields along with her own Cockapoo Douglas who was very friendly. We would highly recommend Rebecca and no doubt Cooper will be back for more holidays in the future.”

“We were very satisfied with the lovely service provided by Melanie whilst looking after our pooch Otis. We met up before our holidays and she took to Otis straight away and him to her. She looked after him for 8 nights and I think it was almost home from home for him. Melanie provided us with updates and photos which really put our minds at ease. We would certainly use Melanie again without a doubt. Thank you very much Melanie”

“Our Tiffy enjoyed her stay with Anthony they had lots of lovely walks and fun together. I was happy with the feedbacks he provided during the day. Tiffy is looking forward to going back to stay with him again.”

“Rocco had a great stay with Harry and Jade - I am always wary of leaving him as he is a big strong dog and needs plenty of care, however I was instantly put at ease and knew he was in safe hands after meeting Harry and Jade. I received updates and photos throughout the visit and would be more than happy for Rocco to visit again 10/10”

“Absolutely brilliant. Cannot fault him at all. Was worried about leaving my dog as he’s not stayed with anyone but family before. I had nothing to worry about, Matthew was brilliant with him. Lots of updates to keep me from worrying. Ralfie enjoyed his holiday at Matthew’s house.”

Steve and his family took great care of Sarge, my silver lab. It was quite last minute but Steve was more than happy to meet beforehand so that I could meet the family and see where Sarge would be staying for the night. I received plenty of updates, sarge settled in straight away and loved his little holiday! Will definitely be booking Steve again knowing that Sarge was happy there.

Highly recommend Megan she looked after my boy for just short of 2 weeks whilst we travelled abroad. Megan has fantastic communication, sent photos and kept me up to date which was massively reassuring and most importantly our boy was well looked after. Would use again.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
