“Ella was an absolute lifesaver for us having Douglas while we went to Kynren. 10 stars. Highly recommended Really chilled, lovely home, clearly loves animals and felt confident and reassured we’d left Doug with someone nice while we swanned off to the show. Thanks again for your patience when we were stuck in the traffic getting out of there too. And you managed to take some lovely photos of him something I’ve not managed to get him to sit still for in 6 years! Thanks again.”

“Thanks to Eva for the last minute request. Beautiful home which Lacey settled in to fine and truly loved all the attention Eva gave her. Eva is a lovely lady and will definitely dedicate her time to your furry family member.”

“I have just collected Percy after a week with Georgia and family, and I dont think he wanted to come home. He was welcomed into their house like an old friend and we can tell he's had a great time. We were kept updated throughout his stay and we were also sent plenty of photos, which is always reassuring. We would recommend Georgia to anyone who is looking for sitting or boarding, and would not hesitate to book Percy in again.”

“Liam and Hannah had our little westie Daisy for 2 weeks why we all went on a big family holiday and all I can say is Daisy is very depressed being at home she much prefers being with Liam, Hannah and Beau! We can not thank you enough for having her and will definitely be coming back next year if I could give more than 5 stars then I would 100%! Of course the star of the show Beau! What an amazing boy he is Daisy is most definitely missing him he's such a kind beautiful natured boy I would also highly recommend his dog buddy services!”

“As on a previous holiday, Rosie was very happy and settled at Emma's. Emma was great at sending frequent photos and answering queries very quickly which is always very reassuring.”

“I'm delighted with how Poppy cared for Minnie, my elderly and fairly nervous jr/chihuahua cross. Minnie had a lovely time pootling about the garden with Poppy's lovely, gentle dog Narla. I could see from the photos and video Poppy updated me regularly with, that Minnie was happy and relaxed - which in itself is an achievement. I have no hesitation in recommending Poppy for dogs care and will definitely be booking her again.”

“When you leave your dog with someone it is always a worry, however Peter was great and looked after our little girl so well. He gave us updates and photos during her stay too. Would not hesitate to leave Tina with him again.”

“This was Ollie’s second (and longest) stay with Csilla. Ollie is an anxious rescue dog and was immediately comfortable with Csilla. I was so grateful for the photos and updates, and how much Csilla fell in love with him. On pick up the feeling was obviously mutual and he would have been quite happy to stay! I highly recommend Csilla as a boarder and will definitely be booking again.”

“This was our first time using a dog sitter, and I was a little nervous, but Brianna was fantastic. She took great care of our dog Betsy, kept me updated with messages and photos, and made the whole experience stress-free. My dog was happy and well looked after. I would definitely recommend her and would happily book with her again. Thank you!”

“Bella had a fantastic stay with Anthony Anthony walked Bella 3 to 4 times a day and allowed her to chase and fetch the ball. Anthony made sure Bella was safe and comfortable and sent us pictures and videos every day, this made us feel less anxious and happy to know she was in safe hands and enjoying her stay .. thanks Anthony great service”

“Lynn and her family looked after our golden Bonnie amazingly whilst we were away for a few nights - Bonnie had a great time and was clearly very happy and comfortable during her stay - getting to go on exciting walks and making friends with the other lovely pups that Lynn was looking after during that period. Communication from Lynn was great and very reassuring for me (as someone who gets a bit nervous leaving Bonnie when we’re away!) Would definitely book a stay with Lynn again in the future and know Bonnie would be very happy to return! ☺️”

About: 🐾 A Home Away From Home for Your Best Friend! 🐾 Hi! I'm a lifelong dog lover with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of every age, breed, and personality. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, so I understand that every pup is unique and deserves plenty of love, patience, and individual attention. From energetic puppies learning the ropes to gentle senior dogs needing a little extra care, I'm experienced with it all. I've helped with puppy training, supported older dogs with arthritis and mobility issues, and cared for every stage in between. Whether your dog is full of zoomies or prefers a slower pace, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy during their stay. I've looked after dogs of all shapes and sizes—from tiny Jack Russells right up to gentle giants like Dogues de Bordeaux—so no matter how big or small your four-legged family member is, they'll be welcomed with open arms. Your dog will have plenty of room to make themselves at home in our spacious house, with lots of cosy spots to relax, nap, or simply potter about. Outside, we have a large, secure garden where they can stretch their legs, play, sniff, and soak up the fresh air. We're also surrounded by beautiful countryside, making it the perfect place for exciting adventures, leisurely strolls, and plenty of sniff-filled walkies. Sharing our home is our lovely spayed female Golden Retriever, who absolutely adores other dogs. She's friendly, gentle, and always happy to make new friends—whether that's a game of chase in the garden or simply lounging together after a long walk. I know how important it is to leave your dog with someone you trust, and I'll care for them as if they were one of my own. Whether they're staying for a day, a weekend, or a longer holiday, you can relax knowing they'll receive lots of love, attention, playtime, cuddles (if they enjoy them!), and updates so you can see what they've been getting up to. I can't wait to meet you and your furry friend! I work from home full-time, so caring for dogs fits naturally into my daily routine. My schedule already revolves around my own Golden Retriever, meaning your dog will always have company, attention, and plenty of opportunities for exercise and relaxation throughout the day. Our mornings start with breakfast (our Goldie would never let us forget it!), followed by a long walk through the beautiful nearby woods and countryside. If anyone comes home a little muddy after their adventure, they're more than welcome to enjoy a quick rinse before settling in. While I work, the dogs can relax wherever they're most comfortable, with free access to our spacious, secure garden whenever they fancy a sniff or a potter outside. I take regular breaks throughout the day for playtime, cuddles, toilet breaks, and, of course, the occasional well-earned treat! In the afternoon, we head out for another walk before winding down for the evening. Whether your dog loves exploring, playing, snoozing, or simply being close to people, they'll enjoy a relaxed, home-from-home environment with lots of love, attention, and companionship. Your dog's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. We have a large, fully secure garden with high fencing, giving dogs plenty of space to run, play, explore, or simply relax in the fresh air whenever they like. I also make sure that any plants within their reach are dog-safe, so you can have complete peace of mind. Sharing our home is our friendly, spayed Golden Retriever, who absolutely loves the company of other dogs. Whether it's a game of zoomies around the garden, exploring together on walks, or curling up for a well-earned nap, she's always delighted to welcome a new furry friend. Inside, our home is spacious, calm, and relaxed, and dogs can settle in wherever they feel most comfortable. Whether your dog is playful and energetic or prefers a peaceful snooze after a walk, they'll have plenty of space to feel safe, loved, and right at home.

“I left my dog with Gabbi and I am extremely happy with the care provided 🐶❤️ From the very beginning, communication was easy and reassuring, and I received regular updates and photos 📸, which gave me great peace of mind. “I can’t even express how wonderful this lady is, she took the time to reassure me on leaving my fur baby in her care and she did not disappoint. Lovely photos or cuddles and playing outside. 10/10 for me and can’t wait to have more weekends away with no stress with my little puppy 🥰🥰”

She kept me updated throughout his stay with lots of photos and videos, which really reassured me and put me completely at ease while I was away. Our Labrador Maisie had a fantastic time staying with Peter. She was looked after like a member of the family and we received regular updates whilst away on holiday, which made us feel so relieved after worrying about leaving her for the first time. We would definitely use Peter again in the future, thank you!

Ella was an absolute lifesaver for us having Douglas while we went to Kynren. 10 stars. Highly recommended Really chilled, lovely home, clearly loves animals and felt confident and reassured we’d left Doug with someone nice while we swanned off to the show. I would highly recommend Emily she was amazing with our fur baby Marler, gave him lots of love, attention and super walks 2 sometimes 3 times a day. Marler and I had a lovely pre-meeting and walk with Emily and her dog Archie and from the moment I met Emily I felt Marler woukd be happy and safe with her. Whilst we were away we got daily updates and pictures and just knowing our boy was having a wonderful time allowed us to relax and enjoy our weekend away. We cannot thank Emily enough for taking care of Marler x

Enzo had a great time staying with Ben and Kayleigh and of course Ruby. They were fantastic with communication and understanding when times switched up late in the day. An update and picture of Enzo and Ruby making friends put our minds at ease to know that Enzo was settling well for his first weekend away. I think it’s safe to say Enzo would love a return visit :)

Cariana is such a lovely gentle person I felt so confident leaving Bramble with her. She was so kind and appreciative of the fact that I was anxious about leaving my dog after a really bad experience with another sitter some years ago. Bramble had a lovely stay and was very well cared for and had tons of fuss and attention. I had regular pup - dates and lots of photos which put me at ease. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cariana.

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
