“Anna and Jorge took great care of Floyd. They sent an update daily and posted little videos which was very reassuring. And Floyd must have been very contented with them as I dont think he wanted to come home when I went to pick him up!”

“Rachel and her partner looked after our Cockapoo for the day when we had a family event to attend. We were really nervous to leave her as she can be a little timid at times around other dogs. But our minds were put at ease as soon as I met them for the meet and greet. And it was great to have regular updates throughout the day. We would highly recommend 😊”

“Nala had another great stay at Rebecca’s, this time for a week! There were no issues at all and communication was great. I would 100% recommend, and Nala will be visiting more often 😁”

“Lauren was absolutely amazing with Wilf, it is the first time we have left him with him only being 4 months old but he could not of been in better hands. “Louise and Dean looked after my dog Tukka so well, and took her on such great walks that she didn't want to leave! Tukka stayed overnight and enjoyed cuddles on the sofa and snuggling up in bed. It is obvious that Louise and Dean absolutely love dogs - and with Tukka the feeling was definitely mutual. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Louise again or recommend her to others.”

About: I have 6 years of veterinary care experience, I spent 4 of those years working for a mobile veterinary business so I have plenty of experience visiting other people’s homes to look after their fur babies. I have also done pet sitting for 5 family’s throughout the years. Building my own special bonds with their pets. I have looked after dogs of all ages ranging from puppies to 16 year old golden oldies. I am currently working full time, however have a flexible job in which I could work from home, as well as plenty of free time on weekends and evenings. I live in an apartment with a park just opposite, your pet will have access to plenty of greenery in order to do their business. I live in a coded entry apartment so there is no risk of your pet running outside
“Absolutely brilliant. Cannot fault him at all. Was worried about leaving my dog as he’s not stayed with anyone but family before. I had nothing to worry about, Matthew was brilliant with him. Lots of updates to keep me from worrying. Ralfie enjoyed his holiday at Matthew’s house.”

About: Hi, we’re Lucy and Joel and live in South Shields with our fur baby Olive and son Rex. You will see our baby pru in the photos (fawn pug) who sadly passed away recently but lived a long life and was loved beyond measure. We have a lifetime of experience of caring for dogs, and a lot of love to give to all animals, especially dogs! We live in a seaside town with only a 5 minute walk to the sand haven beach which is dog friendly alongside large fields and parks - a total doggy heaven ❤️ We have flexible work arrangements and a built in doggy grandma (my mam Helen) who will stay in our home with our own dog Olive and your precious pooches when we need to be in the office so your dog will never be alone! Happy to help with your pet sitting needs - give me a message if you need a hand ☺️❤️ Lucy’s role is combined working from home and in the office, and Joel works shift patterns meaning we do often have availability through the week but not always structured. When we are in the office, our girl olive spends time with my mam who will gladly care for your precious babies in our home too and conveniently lives in the same street! Our home is secure with an iron gate and the back garden is fenced and secure. Your fur babies will have a lovely pug to snuggle up with during their stay and plenty of love from us too!
“Emily is a lovely person who looked after my precious Westie recently . She provided me with lots of updates which is important to me and photos of Koura enjoying herself on walks on the beach as well as looking very chilled and comfy in Emily’s home . I would highly recommend Emily and will use her again when I’m in the area .”

“Queli is a lovely caring person and took great care of my two elderly toy poodles. The whole family are dog lovers and gave my dogs a lot of care and attention. She messaged me regularly with photos to show where they had been on their walks. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to take care of my dogs when I’m on holiday and I hope to book her again next year.”

“Andrew was absolutely wonderful, as always! He's incredibly attentive to my pup's needs and consistently goes the extra mile — offering thoughtful extras like teeth brushing that really show how much he cares. Communication is excellent throughout, with regular updates that give me total peace of mind. Highly recommend!”

We booked Zofia to look after our senior dog, and the experience was excellent. Communication was consistent, updates were detailed, and Millie was clearly relaxed and very well cared for. Everything was fantastic, and we felt confident throughout the stay. I’d happily book again and highly recommend. Thank you..
Ashleigh is brilliant! My little old dog Obie is blind and very bespoke and I could tell immediately that he was going to not only be fine with Ashleigh, but happy. She is totally dog focussed and I felt at ease straight away and was able to leave Obie without any worries. In fact when I dropped him off he was barking at the front door as he remembered where he was going and liked her and her dog Winnie. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

Booking with Elise was simple. Prior to the boarding Elise popped round to our home with her dog to ensure everyone was happy. Dropping of Lucy who is still a pup was easy and not as stressful as what we thought thanks to Elise. With Lucy still bring a pup and not understanding Elise's home was not a toilet there were some teething problems with toileting but Elise took this in her stride and dealt with it. We were given frequent updates and pictures of Lucy enjoying herself with Roxy. What is clear is Elise has has true passion for caring for dogs and from Lucy's reaction in saying goodbye to Elise when the boarding ended it was also obviously apparent that Elise looked after Lucy well. Lucy gave Elise about 100 kisses before leaving. If Elise was not a caring pet sitter Lucy would not have shown the affection towards Elise she did. Highly recommended even if Lucy does get barred..... Thank you Elise.

Rachel did a wonderful job looking after Leia for a few hours while I had a meeting. She was warm and friendly and I can tell Leia had a great time! Rachel even washed out Leia’s food bowl, and didn’t complain when I was late picking Leia up (sorry again!) Thank you so much!

Collette was amazing, updated me on everything during the booking, took amazing care of my puppy on an overnight stay and was so lovely in the lead up, during the stay and drop off. Great communication, excellent care, her doggie Reggie was my little pups bestie by the end and is a sweet gentle angel, and I would recommend Colette to anyone who wants peace of mind when leaving their precious fur babies with a sitter.

What can I say from first meeting Victoria I knew milo was in good care and going to be well looked after. We had regular updates , and Milo really enjoyed his stay, I will definitely be going back to Victoria she's a absolute Angel after we had to book Milo in at very short notice.,I would highly recommend Victoria to anyone wanting a dog sitting service. Thankyou Pauline Jimmy Sarah ❤️
Louise and Dean looked after my dog Tukka so well, and took her on such great walks that she didn't want to leave! Tukka stayed overnight and enjoyed cuddles on the sofa and snuggling up in bed. It is obvious that Louise and Dean absolutely love dogs - and with Tukka the feeling was definitely mutual. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Louise again or recommend her to others.

Our baby has just came back from a week stay with Haylie and had the most amazing time! It was our first time being away from him and we felt so at ease with Haylie, we did a meet and greet before he went to stay with her which we felt very comfortable about and the whole stay she kept me updated with daily photos and what he had been up to. Gordon is still a puppy and still a little bit naughty but Haylie understood his quirks and he was well looked after. Highly recommend Haylie to anyone and will definitely use her again! 😊

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
