“Cannot thank Kat and her husband enough for looking after my boy. I was sent pics and vids throughout his stay for the night, and by the looks of it, all 3 of them had the best time, it made me jealous! 😂 Kat and her husband are some of the kindest people I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with for dog boarding and will 10000% be using them in the future. Thank you again!! ☺️”

I love walking and walk for miles every day. I have no commitments as I have retired so am very flexible. I do wake early and tend to go out for a walk daily. I have no other pets and a lovely fenced garden that is secure. I do not mind allowing your pet full access to my home and is allowed to sit in furniture.
“Anna and her husband looked after Koko over the weekend and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. They were very responsive from the start and kept us updated throughout his stay with messages, photos, and videos, which gave us real peace of mind. They were both incredibly supportive and helpful, and it was clear that Koko was well cared for and comfortable. I truly think he really enjoyed his little staycation with them! We would absolutely recommend Anna and her husband and wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again.”

“Lauren was very accommodating especially with my loose timeframes which was very helpful and very much appreciated! Ralphy had a good stay and got to interact with another dog which definitely helped his own anxiety of being left! Lauren helped my own anxiety by sending updates over text and was super nice throughout! Would hugely recommend to everyone 😁”

“Lauren has looked after our two staffies twice now and we couldn’t happier with the level of care. She’s brilliant at sending regular updates and great at wrangling our big bundles of energy. We can tell how much our girls love staying because this time when we dropped them off they ran to the front door!”

“Yvonne and David were amazing again! So great with our boys, taking them on adventures and putting up with their 'quirks'. Such a great feeling to be able to go away and not worry at all.”

“Thank you so much for having Marnie❤️ Marnie is 7 month old puppy who can sometimes be a handful and Jessica has looked after her so so well and we are really happy and will definitely book in with her again”

“Another great stay for Dax. He absolutely loves his time with Rachel and Mabel which makes leaving him so much easier. Great communication and lots of photos are an added bonus 😃”

“Rebecca was absolutely fantastic. I cannot recommend her enough. She was very thorough in the meet and greet and asked lots of questions about Maisie’s care. She allowed me to view her home so I could see where Maisie would be staying and Maisie fell in love with the garden and their wonderful dog. Throughout the booking I have received lots of updates with messages, photos and videos. I have never left Maisie before in a kennel or a strangers home so this was something I was nervous about. However, I felt at ease straight away seeing how comfortable and happy she looked. Seems like Maisie has found a second home! Cannot thank you enough!”

“Lyudmila has been professional though out Dizzie stay with message also pictures and walks . Lyudmila listened to Dizzie when she’s needed go to the toilet also for her walks . Nothing was a problem to Lyudmila she made me so comfortable for Dizzie to stay at her lovely home . Also it’s home to home for Dizzie . I will be booking again for Dizzie at Lyudmila .”

“Once again, we were delighted to be able to leave Jack in Andrew's capable hands. The pair of them had a great time, and we got lots of photos and regular updates. Andrew takes time to understand dogs' quirks & foibles (very important for Jack - he's got a few...!!!), and builds his plan accordingly. He made sure we were comfortable with what he was proposing to do over the weekend, which was very reassuring. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Andrew, and we'll be booking Jack in again soon!”

“Mathew was great. From the initial meeting with his dog Apollo who was also the most loveable cockapoo. Mathew kept us updated during the stay and reassured us that he had settled and was eating. I would definitely recommend Mathew and we will definitely be asking Mathew to help out again in the future.”

“Vinnie has absolutely loved his stay with Adele. The updates we received from her daily was fantastic! Wonderful dog lover and very trustworthy! Adele’s dogs are fantastic with other dogs and your pooch will definitely come back exhausted! -(which is delightful) Will certainly be using Adele in future.”

“Julie looked after our beloved dogs, a Cocker Spaniel and a miniature Dachshund, for 11 nights while we enjoyed a much-needed family holiday abroad. Julie was absolutely fantastic! Our dogs are quite needy and require that extra bit of attention, and Julie confidently cared for both of them, giving them all the love, attention and reassurance they needed. She sent us daily updates and lovely photos of their adventures and trips out, which was wonderful for us to see while we were away. Knowing that our dogs were having their own bespoke holiday too really helped us relax and enjoy our time away, knowing they were happy, settled and in such good hands. We honestly couldn’t have asked for anyone better to look after them and would highly recommend Julie to anyone looking for someone caring, trustworthy and reliable. ❤️”

“Maeve looked after my dog Peanut for the weekend and he has had the best time! She has treated him like her own dog allowing him to have cuddles in bed and on the sofa! He had the best walk at the beach and the field playing with sticks. He’s come home very content. Would highly recommend Maeve and peanut would love to visit again!”

“Csilla and her lovely family hosted my cairn terrier Archie in their home 18 to 22 July whilst I was away for a short break. This is the second time Archie has stayed and as before he thoroughly enjoyed his stay, playing happily with resident dog Bobby and with Csilla’s young daughter! I would recommend Csilla as a dog sitter without reservation.”

“Bella loved her stay with Sarah, in so much she's seems a bit down not to still be with her. We went away for a week and Sarah kept us up to date with daily photos and messages which showed bella having a great time . Friendly and helpful throughout Sarah let Bella have the run of the house and looked after her brilliantly. We will definitely use Sarah again and some of our friends have already made inquiries about they dogs. Many , many thanks to Sarah for a professional and smooth weeks stay .”

Zofia is a delightful individual who takes the time to listened to our needs, concerns and views. She addressed them all in a professional and understanding manner. As our first holiday without Zeus, we had our reservations to say the very least. We arranged a meet and greet down the sea-front, spent over an hour conversing. After searching multiple avenues, I settled on Zofia due to her personality, her manner and professionalism. I would heartily recommend Zofia to one and all for their canine cover needs, be it long or short stay, you can rest assured that Zofia and Ellie will look after your pooch as it were one of their own. Already looking for next holiday dates to re-book. Thank you for the multiple pup-dates via whatsapp too, nice touch. Yours, Chris & Family. x

Booking with Elise was simple. Prior to the boarding Elise popped round to our home with her dog to ensure everyone was happy. Dropping of Lucy who is still a pup was easy and not as stressful as what we thought thanks to Elise. With Lucy still bring a pup and not understanding Elise's home was not a toilet there were some teething problems with toileting but Elise took this in her stride and dealt with it. We were given frequent updates and pictures of Lucy enjoying herself with Roxy. What is clear is Elise has has true passion for caring for dogs and from Lucy's reaction in saying goodbye to Elise when the boarding ended it was also obviously apparent that Elise looked after Lucy well. Lucy gave Elise about 100 kisses before leaving. If Elise was not a caring pet sitter Lucy would not have shown the affection towards Elise she did. Highly recommended even if Lucy does get barred..... Thank you Elise.

Rachel did a wonderful job looking after Leia for a few hours while I had a meeting. She was warm and friendly and I can tell Leia had a great time! Rachel even washed out Leia’s food bowl, and didn’t complain when I was late picking Leia up (sorry again!) Thank you so much!

Collette was amazing, updated me on everything during the booking, took amazing care of my puppy on an overnight stay and was so lovely in the lead up, during the stay and drop off. Great communication, excellent care, her doggie Reggie was my little pups bestie by the end and is a sweet gentle angel, and I would recommend Colette to anyone who wants peace of mind when leaving their precious fur babies with a sitter.

Sitters in North East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
