Anna and her husband looked after Koko over the weekend and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. They were very responsive from the start and kept us updated throughout his stay with messages, photos, and videos, which gave us real peace of mind. They were both incredibly supportive and helpful, and it was clear that Koko was well cared for and comfortable. I truly think he really enjoyed his little staycation with them! We would absolutely recommend Anna and her husband and wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again.

Lauren has looked after our two staffies twice now and we couldn’t happier with the level of care. She’s brilliant at sending regular updates and great at wrangling our big bundles of energy. We can tell how much our girls love staying because this time when we dropped them off they ran to the front door!

About: We have experience caring for puppies, different breeds and dogs with varying temperaments. Through raising Nala, our 6 month old Red Fox Labrador, Myself and my partner Julia have developed hands on experience with puppy training, socialisation and establishing routines. We have also cared for nervous dogs and dogs with separation anxiety through family and friends, and are comfortable administering medication when required. Me and Julia both work Monday to Friday, with some flexibility depending on our shifts and occasional work from home days. We’re primarily available for boarding at weekends, with weekday availability on selected weeks. At weekends, we’re both home and able to give dogs plenty of attention, walks, play and company throughout their stay. We have a secure, fully enclosed garden and a dog friendly home where dogs are welcome on the furniture. We have two spare rooms, allowing visiting dogs to have their own comfortable space if needed. Our Labrador, Nala, is friendly and well socialised with other dogs. We always arrange a meet and greet beforehand to make sure every dog is comfortable and a good match. We’re also happy to follow individual routines, provide medication and walk dogs separately where required.

Louise and Dean looked after my dog Tukka so well, and took her on such great walks that she didn't want to leave! Tukka stayed overnight and enjoyed cuddles on the sofa and snuggling up in bed. It is obvious that Louise and Dean absolutely love dogs - and with Tukka the feeling was definitely mutual. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Louise again or recommend her to others.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for Luna’s overnight stay. Luna stayed overnight while we travelled to Birmingham, and we felt completely reassured from the start. We received plenty of updates and photos, and it was lovely to see how relaxed and comfortable she was throughout her stay. Communication was excellent, Jesica and Sam were warm, friendly and clearly cared about Luna’s wellbeing. Pick-up was smooth, so everything was handled professionally. Thank you for taking such great care of Luna. We would highly recommend you to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. We would happily book again!

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. Having grown up with both cats and dogs I'm confident in caring for pets of different ages, sizes and personalities. Friends, family and neighbours have trusted me to look after their pets while they're away, whether that's feeding, walking, playing, or simply keeping them company. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, so I always take the time to make them feel comfortable, safe and happy. I'm patient, reliable and caring, and I'll treat your pets with the same love and attention I'd give my own. As a freelancer working from home, I have a flexible schedule and can often accommodate pet care during weekdays as well as evenings and weekends. This means I can provide regular walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime and companionship, while giving your pet plenty of attention and sticking to their usual routine as much as possible. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a secure garden for supervised outdoor time, and there's a large open field just a short walk away that's perfect for exercise and play. I'll always follow your pet's routine, including feeding, medication, training and any specific instructions, so they feel safe, happy and at home while in my care.

About: I grew up in a very dog-loving household and have around 12 years of hands-on experience caring for family dogs. Although I’m new to Rover and professional pet sitting, dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mum is a massive dog lover, so growing up our dogs were never just pets — they were genuinely part of the family and felt much more like furry siblings. I helped with feeding, walking, playing, keeping them company, and generally making sure they were happy, comfortable and well cared for. I’ve always been a big animal lover, but dogs especially have a very special place in my heart. I have plenty of energy myself, so I’m more than happy with dogs who love to play, explore, go for walks or just generally keep busy. At the same time, I’m equally happy settling down with a quieter dog and giving them company, affection and attention at their own pace. Since moving away from home, I really miss having dogs around in my everyday life, and I’d genuinely love the opportunity to spend time caring for them again. If I’m trusted with your dog, I’ll treat them with the same care, patience and affection I’d want someone to give my own. I’m a self-employed artist and work from home with very flexible hours, so I’m available throughout the day for walks, daycare and boarding. My husband also usually works from home, so dogs staying with us would very rarely be left alone. I’m happy to work around your dog’s usual routine, whether that means particular walk times, meals, playtime or plenty of naps and company. We live in a two-storey house with no children or pets of our own, and we have plenty of space for a crate if your dog uses one at home. Any areas that aren’t dog-friendly, such as my husband’s office while he’s working, can simply be closed off. We also have a private garden surrounded by a tall hedge, which dogs can enjoy with supervision, as neighbourhood cats do occasionally wander in. I’m very happy to follow whatever routine your dog is used to - in fact, if you have a written schedule or list of instructions, even better! I’ve done the same when caring for my family’s dogs, and I really appreciate knowing the little things that make each dog feel comfortable and at home. I’m also more than happy to send photos and updates while your dog is with me. I know you’re trusting me with an important member of your family, so I want you to feel comfortable and know how they’re getting on. For daycare and boarding, I’d generally prefer friendly, sociable dogs, as I may occasionally care for dogs from more than one household. I’d always make sure dogs are a suitable match and that owners are comfortable with this beforehand. We don’t drive, so our walks and outings stay local and on foot. We have a vet only around 10 minutes from home and would always make sure we have appropriate transport available should an emergency require it.

You couldn't wish for a better couple to look after your dog! From placing the initial enquiry we immediately felt at ease knowing he was going to be cared for whilst we were on holiday. Whilst we were away we received photos on the daily of the fun Woody and their dog Odie had been getting up to and we could see just how much fun Woody was having with them, allowing us to relax and enjoy our break. I would 110% recommend Demi and will absolutely look to them again in the future!

Booking with Elise was simple. Prior to the boarding Elise popped round to our home with her dog to ensure everyone was happy. Dropping of Lucy who is still a pup was easy and not as stressful as what we thought thanks to Elise. With Lucy still bring a pup and not understanding Elise's home was not a toilet there were some teething problems with toileting but Elise took this in her stride and dealt with it. We were given frequent updates and pictures of Lucy enjoying herself with Roxy. What is clear is Elise has has true passion for caring for dogs and from Lucy's reaction in saying goodbye to Elise when the boarding ended it was also obviously apparent that Elise looked after Lucy well. Lucy gave Elise about 100 kisses before leaving. If Elise was not a caring pet sitter Lucy would not have shown the affection towards Elise she did. Highly recommended even if Lucy does get barred..... Thank you Elise.

Collette was amazing, updated me on everything during the booking, took amazing care of my puppy on an overnight stay and was so lovely in the lead up, during the stay and drop off. Great communication, excellent care, her doggie Reggie was my little pups bestie by the end and is a sweet gentle angel, and I would recommend Colette to anyone who wants peace of mind when leaving their precious fur babies with a sitter.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in North East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
