About: Previous dog owner of my lovely girl for 18 years. I have provided regular day and overnight care for two family dogs for the last 9 years (from puppy onwards) We relocated to the North East in July 25. We have previously been registered on Rover, when living down south. We all enjoyed the experience and built an excellent rating, with many repeat visitors. I am at home 7 days a week. Living in a mutigeneration family (Mother, sister and 2 teenagers - all dog lovers) so full time care and attention is always available. We love dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes. The beach is only a safe 7 minute walk away, so access to lots of exciting walks, smells and stimulation is on our doorstep. I have a good sized family home, with a secure fenced garden. A large family/ kitchen area with plenty of space for our doggy visitors to relax. We also have a cosy living room for some personal space and quiet time. We will give your fur baby a home away from home experience. With plenty of walks, play and cuddles during any stay.
“Rachel was fantastic! Our cat is a nervous cat who hid for the first few days but it’s obvious Rachel is great with cats as eventually Mila was stood on her lap, we had videos of her purring and interacting. Rachel was always prompt and communicative and nothing was too much of an ask, she is clearly someone who is very knowledgeable about cats. When we got home Mila was comfortable and seemed happy, the litter had been cleaned and it was clear she’d been very well cared for. We would absolutely recommend Rachel to anyone and we are sad to be moving away as we won’t be able to use her again in future! Thank you so much!”

“Alfred was just amazing from the very beggining. I had a cancellation extremely last minute and he answered fast and planned a quick meetup on the same day. My dog loved him the moment he stepped through the door, and the first time meeting I got the vibe of calm, friendly, professional about him. Throught the whole booking: - always kept me informed of when he would drop-in (daily) - kept the daily card updated and descriptive / plenty of photos too - asked questions if unsure - ensured my dog always had what was needed to endure the heatwave - always stayed on top of what we had discussed and any concerns Totally booking again :D”

About: Hi, I’m Amey ☺️ I absolutely love dogs and spending time with them, whether that’s going for walks, giving them company or simply helping them feel safe and comfortable. I especially have a soft spot for nervous or sensitive dogs and understand that some need a little more patience and reassurance. I have experience caring for dogs and regularly spend time around rescue dogs, so I’m comfortable with different personalities and temperaments. I’m calm, reliable and happy to follow any routines, boundaries or training your dog is used to. I’m mainly available on weekends and would love the opportunity to spend time with a lovely dog who enjoys walks, companionship and lots of fuss 🐶🐾 I work full-time within a primary school setting during the week, so I’m mainly available on weekends and during school holidays. I enjoy spending my free time around animals and love going on walks, giving pets company and helping them feel comfortable and settled while their owners are away. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, relaxed and secure in their usual environment. I’m calm, patient and happy to follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, boundaries and any specific needs they may have. I especially understand that some animals can be nervous or need a little extra reassurance and patience.

Thank you Chloe Successful meet & greet where Chloe was able to answer my 16 question questionnaire exceptionally well. Over the three nights we were away Chloe cared extremely well for my two diva Siameses. She was able to use the cat litter robot and litter box plus two cat feeding systems. Chloe used telephone and messaging systems with photographs to keep me informed of what was going on. Plus after the bank holiday did an emergency cover day as I realised we would be back later than anticipated. Excellent five stars as Chloe was booked short notice and did extended cover. Bonus - Happy Siameses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
