“Max and Ruby loved their stay with Herbie & Harry (Emma and Laurence). At short notice the family was very hospitable and welcoming to take in the two of them and care for them for two nights so that we could head North on family business. With a great outdoor space and secure location Max & Ruby had great freedom and we could see from the happy friendly nature of Herbie and Harry this was certainly a great place for the dogs. Emma assured us we can focus on other things and that she would be conciencious to Rubys needs and Max's ladish ways. It was a breathe of fresh air having the two cared for and loved whilst we went away. They have returned happy healthy and full of energy. Max telling us all about it. Thank you to you all such friendly and kind people. We shall be booking again when we require. Five star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Max & Meg came to stay with Catherine this weekend. They had a wonderful time. Lots of lovely walks on the Tarka Trail and a home from home with Catherine and her wonderful family. We popped over just to say 'hi' the weekend beforehand. Which was so lovely of them to organise. We were kept informed every day of their progress, settling in etc. Including photo's. Max & Meg had soo much fun with them. I have already booked their next weekend stay! Thank you soo much Catherine & family.”

“Tina was understanding when we got stuck in traffic and extremely welcoming to our beagle Chester ❤️ she sent me updates throughout the weekend and I had the HAPPIEST boy when I collected him. Thank you so much for giving Chester a home from home experience and easing my nerves about leaving him. He will be coming for a sleepover again! :) xx”

“My labradoodle Davey had the most amazing time with Isabelle. She is a super-nanny for dogs with lots of walks, play dates, puppiccinos and doggie muffins and even a coconut scented bubble bath just before being collected. Davey was happy and relaxed when I arrived. I thoroughly recommend Isabelle x”

“Charlotte did a fantastic job at looking after Smudge while we were away for a few weeks over Christmas. We were kept updated with pictures and info letting us know how he was getting on as this was the first time we had left him with someone else, but I can safely say we would definitely use Charlotte again! Highly recommended.”

About: I have been a pet owner my entire life, owning a variety of animals over the years, including guinea pigs, cats, dogs, horses, sheep, goats, rabbits chickens, ducks and geckos! I have worked as a professional groom, house & pet sitter, and dog walker for many years; owning my own business, Happy Tails since 2015, which quickly gained a consistent and loyal cliental of contented owners of dogs, horses, pigs and cats. Since moving to North Devon, Happy Tails has become a part time business, whilst I also work as a director of Youth Theatre, and also paint pet and wildlife portraits, and parenting my 3 children. I am confident with all animals, including those with challenging behaviours, and have training in dog behaviour and communication, canine and equine nutrition, and holistic health care. I believe in treating every person and animal with equity, as individuals, and with the greatest observational care, diligence, and of course all the fuss, belly rubs and head scratches they need! I am very conscientious and will look after your pets and home as if they are my own; offering to clean, pick up mail, water plants and anything else you need in addition to prioritising your pet's care and well being! An added bonus is that my wife is a dog trainer, vet technician and veterinary practice manager, and as such have experienced advice to hand immediately! I fully understand the worry that comes with leaving our precious pets, and will communicate regularly with you, sending photos and videos as well as text updates, or calls if required! Your pets will be in safe, happy and caring hands every day, whether they are boarding here, in your own home, for quick drop ins, or fun walks! I work very flexible, setting my own schedule and can work house sitting, pet sitting, drop ins or walks around your requirements and my own routine! We can talk about what you and your pet need and make a brilliant plan! I care for each and every pet individually, chatting extensively with you to find out all their needs, quirks, favourite things, routines, feeding requirements, and anything else you want to tell me. All animals deserve to be treated with equity, and as such no job is ever the same. But you can be assured that I will always be super compassionate, caring, diligent, communicative, vigilant, confident and reliable, no matter what the circumstances.

“Nicky was so wonderful with Bobby, she looked after him as if he was her own dog and sent me lots of picture and video updates throughout Bobby’s stay. Nicky went the extra mile in making sure we felt happy leaving Bobby and making him comfortable during his stay. She took him for a lovely long walk in the morning and send videos of him enjoying the stream nearby! Nicky also helped us with navigating the local area, she really went above and beyond. Thank you so much Nicky for everything and Bobby had a great time :)”

Holly C.
“Bruno was our first fur baby, so when we had a family holiday booked last August, Holly was the only person we trusted to look after him. He loves it when Holly comes to stay and they have a really close bond which is testament to Holly providing love and care to Bruno as if he were her own. Since then we’ve added Bonnie (3yr old rescue) to the family…who has also taken to Holly as her step-mum!!! Holly is a fabulous carer and is the only person we’d trust to have in our home. She gives us great updates when we’re away, and the total peace of mind the pups are enjoying their holiday as much as we are! I can’t recommend Holly highly enough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
