About: I have always had and loved cats and dogs since I was little which is why I know the love, care and attention they need. This is what I want to provide for your fur babies so you don’t have to worry about them while you’re on holiday tanning yourself! My own pets include the bigger golden retriever x standard pool who I now look after in his senior years and a smaller cavalier x border collie who is a bouncy, ball loving 2 year old. I have an indoor cat and an outdoor cat, one who wants love and another who just wants me to feed him. I also own 2 snakes which are now 17 years old! I was a zoo keeper for 3 years following on from a level 3 animal management course and 2 years of volunteering at the same wildlife park. I looked after an array of animals from lions and wolves to primates like baboons, lemurs and gibbons. Many birds like parrots and also snakes and reptiles. There were also farm animals like goats and alpacas, ferrets, rabbits and chickens! So many different personalities types and I loved them all! I have experience working with many different animals and am thoroughly looking forward to meeting all your different and wonderful pets and getting the know them. I currently work in a pub with flexible hours. My schedule can change from days to evenings so will have plenty of time look after all your wonderful pets. I highly recommend a meet and greet first. These are complimentary and just ensure your pet/s are comfortable with me and to build trust between me and your pet/s. It also aids in getting to know your pet in better detail. Hopefully this meet will give you peace of mind when leaving them in my care.

3. Kirsty S.
“Kirsty has stayed in our house and looked after our (slightly troubled rescue) Cock-a-Poo on two separate occasions for extended periods. We now go for walks all together and we value her friendship and the relationship she has formed with our dog. She is very caring, incredibly responsible and exceptionally reliable. These are all attributes that make her an ideal carer for dogs.”

11. Lisa D.
About: Wherever I am, there’s usually a dog in my company. Preferably, several. They make life better! Adopting my pair - William a long haired dachshund, and more recently Dolly, a Cardigan Corgi - has been a brilliant experience, and allowed me to fully appreciate the joy of canine company. During the 7+ years since Will moved in, I’ve looked after other lots of dogs - from dachshunds to jack russells, cockapoos and corgis. Both our dogs are well socialised, and dog sitting is a good way to have fun getting to know new breeds and personalities! Low or medium energy dogs are the best fit here, as Will and Dolly enjoy chilling out at home under a blanket or three, when not running around the park or beach. I’m a writer and illustrator, which gives me the flexibility to welcome dogs into my home and take lunchtime walks and breaks according to what the dogs need. We live within walking distance of Thompson’s and Bute parks in Cardiff, as well as Leckwith and Sanitorium Park so any dog guests in my care will be taken on trips to some of these, as well as beach visits if they're staying for longer. Dinas Powys woods is another favourite walking spot during Spring and Summer. My phone camera is full of dog photography, I'll be happy to try to get some good snaps of your dog too. They’ll be welcomed as part of the family during their stay, and looked after with the same high level of care, attention, exercise and hugs as if they were my own. My day job allows me the time and flexibility for breaks and play, plus I'm happy to fit longer walks into my evenings depending on your dog’s needs. I have a walled garden which is completely secure for small to medium dogs. My dogs plus any guests tend to sleep in my home office during the day, and the living room during the evening. I am used to ensuring my own dogs are safe and secure, with harnesses, leads, and collars that carry their information.

14. Daisy P.
About: I hold a level 3 qualification in animal care and have also achieved my level 2 in dog grooming. I have three years of formal animal care experience but many more years of being around and loving animals. I'm currently working part-time and also studying, so my best availability will be over school holidays, although I'm usually free evenings and weekends, but I won't accept any bookings if I don't think I'll really be able to dedicate the time to your pet(s). If possible I like to do a visit to your home in advance to meet you and your pet(s), and discuss their needs with you. I will follow any guidance or instructions you give, and of course I'll always make sure to leave the house clean and tidy.

15. Jessica T.
“Jess is a Veterinary nursing student, with great experience with lots of different breeds of dogs and other kinds of pets. She loves all animals and will provide your pet with the best care.”

16. Hector K.
“Hector is a very calm, patient and compassionate person. He is incredible at navigating dynamics when there are multiple animals, being attentive to the needs of all animals. Hector's care really shines through when you see this gentle giant truly connect with them and give them love, no matter how poorly or unconventionally beautiful they may be. Hector is a quick learner and is flexible when it comes to the needs of your animal. He isn't afraid to show leadership (appropriately), or get his hands dirty, and most of all, just has an endless capacity to play with them! You and your animal(s) are in safe hands with Hector.”

17. Alaina D.
About: I've been caring for dogs and other animals pretty much all of my life. My grandma used to breed Newfoundlands so I was always helping with her gentle giants! From walking and grooming to playing and meal times. I've never not had a dog in my life and they truly do make your life a million times better. When I was 10 we got my best friend, a little whippet puppy who was just the best! We sadly lost him at the ripe age of 12 at the end of last year. It's so important to take extra care of them when they become old and fragile and having to change certain aspects of their life so they don't get down about the things they can't do anymore. I've had the pleasure of getting to know all different breeds and their personalities from Huskies to Dachshunds and Spaniels, Whippets, Staffies, Pocket bullies, xl bullies, Retrievers and Newfoundlands. We have a 7 month old pocket bully and she has to be one of the funniest and loving dogs we've ever had. Before we got her of course we did alot of research and she is such a well behaved girl. It's important that the training starts from the day you get them and I feel that if someone's dog isn't properly trained then they aren't going to know how to deal with someone elses. I adore all dogs and always treat them like they're a part of the family! I'm currently working part time so I have plenty of time to do what I love most which is being with animals. I also travel to Cornwall atleast once a week so I am very flexible on where I can go too! I plan on mostly doing home visits and or walks. I will ask lots of questions for example using treats etc and asking about allergies. Everyone and every dog is different so it's tailoring every experience to suit the dog and owner so everyone is happy. I know it takes a lot of trust to allow someone into your home and or to take your dog for a walk so I will be making sure I know as much as possible and listening to every word the owner says!

18. Michelle T.

“Michelle was brilliant. We met her before we went away and felt reassured that our pets would be looked after without us having to worry. Everything was done exactly as we had expected and hoped. Would definitely ask her to help us again and recommend her to others.”

19. Katie W.
About: I have always loved caring for animals. I have always had pets growing up, and even now have family pets. I have experience caring for cats and dogs while also caring for young children and children with additional needs as a part time nanny. I have looked after family members pets in their home for 2 weeks+ while they have been on holiday. I enjoy walking/hiking and visiting many different places and love to take the dogs with me to let them have a proper run and socialise on beaches, fields and costal walls. I have been to puppy training classes with my own dogs when they were puppies and have picked up training techniques and tricks which I think help a lot when building a relationship when meeting new pets and building a trusted bond. I do work full time from Monday to Friday 9am - 5:30pm, however, I am available weekends and evenings if required for pet sitting or dog walking. I have 3 dogs of my own and I am knowledgeable in providing a safe and comfortable environment for pets. If there’s a particular thing your pet loves doing, just let me know.
