Thandi has done a day sit for our dogs, and she did an excellent job. Very attentive and sent regular updates. One of our dogs can get separation anxiety, and is unsure around new people, but Thandi handled it excellently, and we will definitely be using her again.

About: My family have had dogs ever since I was born, i have always bonded well with dogs and loved having a pal to go walking or running with. My dog in my family home has been an excellent companian and I miss having a furry friend around! I feel that I am confident with a range of dog breeds, I am affectionate but also know how to be firm and set boundaries. I love to give a dog plenty of play and exercise on walks. I am a firm believer in keeping inside the house a calm environment for pets to settle and ensure that this is paired with lots of garden playtime and exploring on walks. I’m a freelance marketer so I work from anywhere. I have a completely flexible schedule apart from a couple of online client meetings on a Monday. I am able to let a dog/cat out / feed animals whenever is required. I would ensure any pet is tended to at least every hour. I will adapt to each animals routine, making sure they feel completely comfortable around me. I will listen and adhere to any boundaries you have with your pet, ensuring a smooth transition between yourself and my services.

Amy was kind enough to come and meet our pets (2x dogs and 2x cats) prior to her stay to ensure they were familiar with her and both ourselves and Amy were happy before sitting. We had her sit for us for one night, we have never had a dog sitter before but felt at ease from the get go, we would definitely recommend and use her again, she was respectful of our home and good at communicating prior and during her stay. Thanks again Amy :) x

We booked Courtney for a day of house sitting for our 15 week old puppy, Mae. When we returned home at 8pm Mae was happy and relaxed, obviously she'd had a good day. Will definitely book again in the future. Thanks to Courtney, with updates during the day we didn't have to worry about our fur baby.

We are so incredibly grateful to Leah and Tim. Such a lovely couple, they came to look after our (very active) pointer for the night whilst we went to a party. They took great care of River and left the place immaculate. Hope we get to see you both again on the future x

We couldn't be happier with Holly and Giles and their dog sitting over four days. During the meet and greet, before accepting the request, they instantly hit it off with our dog and were very thorough with questions abouts our dog's needs and routines. Holly was always quick to respond to messages and sent us pictures and videos during the actual dog sitting. As well as treating our dog with respect, it was clear they also treated our house with respect during their stay.

About: Greetings! With a genuine passion for animals and over a decade of practical experience, I offer reliable and compassionate pet care services. Over the past 10 years, I've had the pleasure of engaging with a variety of pets, specializing in the care of dogs – from large and boisterous to small and shy. My journey into pet care started organically around 5 years ago, evolving into 21 highly rewarding and mostly longer-term house-sitting opportunities. Dogs hold a special place in my heart, and my personal companion, a rescue of almost 13 years, accompanies me on every adventure. In addition to canine care, I've successfully tended to the needs of horses, goats, rabbits, and birds, and maintained marine fish and coral environments. Administration of medications, including tablets, injections, and other forms, is within my realm of expertise. Choosing me as your pet sitter means entrusting your beloved companions to a seasoned caregiver who values their well-being and happiness. Let's make your time away worry-free and filled with contented pets. As a self-employed business owner running a boutique digital agency with a fully remote work structure, incorporating pet care into my daily and weekly routine seamlessly aligns with my flexible schedule. Working remotely provides the advantage of being present for our furry friends throughout the day. In my daily routine, breaks for walks, playtime, and feeding become cherished moments of connection with pets under my care. These breaks not only ensure their well-being but also serve as rejuvenating intervals for me, fostering a balanced work-life dynamic. Whether it's a midday stroll or a quick game of fetch, these interactions contribute to a positive and thriving environment for the pets. Every week, I allocate dedicated time for more extended adventures and activities, catering to the specific needs and preferences of each pet. This structure allows for a harmonious blend of work responsibilities and attentive pet care, creating a fulfilling routine for both myself and the animals. The flexibility inherent in my remote work setup further allows me to adapt swiftly to any unexpected pet care requirements, ensuring that their comfort and happiness remain a top priority. In essence, my routine revolves around creating a balanced and enjoyable environment for pets, enriching their lives while maintaining the productivity of my professional endeavours. Currently, my primary focus is providing dedicated pet care within the familiar surroundings of their own homes. This approach ensures that pets experience minimal disruption to their routines and feel secure and comfortable in their familiar environment. My pet care routine typically includes: Playtime and Exercise: Engaging in play and exercise is an integral part of my care routine. I tailor activities to each pet's preferences and energy levels, whether it's a spirited game of fetch or a stroll around the neighbourhood. Affection and Companionship: Pets thrive on companionship, and I prioritize spending quality time providing affection, belly rubs, and any other attention they may crave. Updates for Pet Owners: Communication is key. I keep pet owners informed with regular updates, including photos, videos and messages, to provide peace of mind about their furry family members. Starting in June, I am excited to announce that I will be expanding my services to include home boarding. This will offer a home-away-from-home experience for pets, where they can enjoy a secure and loving environment.

About: Hi, I’m Kevin! I’m a 35-year-old dog lover and freelance designer based in London, working remotely from my laptop. I’d love to help take care of your pets while you’re away. Since I work from home, your pets won’t ever be left alone - I’ll always be around to keep them company. A few years ago, I lost my dog after 13 amazing years together, and I’m really missing having a furry friend around. I’ve always felt at ease with dogs, especially big ones like German Shepherds. I’ve also helped train two rescue dogs, including a German Shepherd and an Airedale, both of whom had some behavioural challenges but turned into happy, calm companions. I know how important it is to find someone you can really trust with your pets - whether that’s for long walks, playing fetch, or just hanging out. All dog owners are the best owners to their beloved pets but I can guarantee you I will reduce any separation anxiety a pet may have and will keep you updated with regular photos of your furry family member while you are away. Besides dogs, I’ve cared for cats, fish, hamsters, gerbils, degus, and even tortoises. For me, animals aren’t just pets - they’re family. I treat every furry (or scaly!) friend as if they were my own, giving them all the love and attention they deserve. I’d be really happy to help look after your pets! Freelance designer so i can petsit anytime, anywhere as long as i have internet and my laptop. Taking dogs on walks, especially in nature is what i enjoy most Since I work from home, your pets won’t ever be left alone - I’ll always be around to keep them company. About: I have a lifetime of experience with animals, especially dogs and cats, as I grew up with a highly intelligent German Shepherd who was my family. Since then, I’ve had the chance to care for many different breeds - Border Collies, Retrievers, Dachshunds, Samoyed, English Spaniels/Cocker Spaniels, Boston Terriers, Toy Poodles, Cockapoos, French Bulldogs, Mastiffs, Pomeranians, Goldendoodles, Wire Fox Terriers, Pugs, and of course Shepherds, as well as many cats, giving me years of hands-on pet care experience. I’ve also spent time walking and playing with dogs at a shelter (many wonderful mixed breeds), so I understand how to care for pets with different temperaments, energy levels, and needs. Since moving to the UK, I don’t have pets of my own yet, so it would be an absolute pleasure to care for yours! Whether it’s puppy care, playtime, walks, or simply keeping your pet company, I’m here to provide loving, attentive, and responsible care. I have a flexible schedule as I work from home, which allows me to be available any day of the week for pet care. Your pet will never be left alone for long, and I can easily adjust to their routine. I provide a safe, comfortable, and fun environment for pets, whether in my home or yours. I live on a farm with plenty of open space for dogs to walk, run, and play freely. If caring for pets in their owner's home, I ensure they feel secure and relaxed by sticking to their familiar routines, giving them plenty of attention, and making sure they are always well-fed, exercised, and cared for. Their happiness and well-being are my top priorities! 🐾

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred North Devon walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Devon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
