Thandi spent the day with our 18 week old whippet who is full of energy and very bouncy. She was calm and patient with her despite Twig being a bit bitey and scratchy at times. I think that they got to know each other a lot better.

About: I’ve loved animals my whole life I have a 6 year old cockapoo called honey …she is my princess I have two guinea pigs called Bert and Ernie … I also used to breed rabbits and have experience looking after lots of other friends and family’s pets …i treat all animals like they are part of the family .. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide reliable care throughout the week. I can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits, as well as overnight stays when needed. I make pet care a priority in my daily routine, ensuring each pet receives plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, feeding, and companionship based on their individual needs and routine. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I take the time to follow your pet’s usual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medication (if required), and any special instructions. I always ensure pets are secure on walks, keep a clean and safe environment, and provide lots of affection and positive attention. I also keep owners updated with regular messages and photos, so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I respect your home, leave it tidy, and treat every pet as if they were my own.

Amy is a lovely friendly lady. It was obvious when she first met my two Jack Russells that she loves dogs and the dogs definitely really liked her. They didn’t even bark when she first came in the house, which is unheard of! We went away for our weekend without a worry and returned home to two very happy relaxed doggies. Unusually, we are away meet weekend too and are very happily relieved that Amy is coming to stay again. We would highly recommend Amy.

We booked Courtney for a day of house sitting for our 15 week old puppy, Mae. When we returned home at 8pm Mae was happy and relaxed, obviously she'd had a good day. Will definitely book again in the future. Thanks to Courtney, with updates during the day we didn't have to worry about our fur baby.

I would recommend Melanie to anyone and everyone needing someone to look after their dog. She looked after our cockapoo Dougal whilst we were getting married. Dougal is full of energy and can quite often be a little full on, this was his first time staying with someone he didn’t know so we were a little nervous as to how he might be but we really didn’t need to be! From the moment Melanie arrived we were all put at immediate ease (including Dougal) that we’d made the right choice for Dougal. Throughout the weekend Melanie so kindly kept us updated with videos and pictures so we knew we didn’t have a single thing to worry about and could enjoy our wedding without a worry! She took him on so many walks and adventures that I’m sure Dougal is now back with his parents and not his new best friend! We truly cannot thank you enough! Xxxx

Kim is a wonderful dog sitter. She has such calm, caring energy and Koa responded to that immediately, was comfortable and friendly right away. She took Koa out for walks, made sure he had his meal and treats, and gave him lots of snuggles - and sent great pictures to show how mellow and comfortable Koa was with her. This was our first time leaving Koa with someone else and she made the experience so satisfying and encouraging - Koa was happy, and we could make a distance visit with complete confidence that Koa was being well cared for. Thank you Kim!

Sarah was the perfect house dog sitter. Louie was relaxed and settled with her as evidenced by the photos she sent whilst we were away. As a bonus our home was immaculate when we returned. Sarah kindly started early and stayed late to accommodate our flights so Louie wasn’t left on his own too long . I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sarah.

Holly and Giles were absolutely amazing and I highly recommend them. Our dog is a rescue and because of his previous life can be wary of strangers. He adored Holly and Giles from the first time he met them - I have never seen him take to someone so quickly and I trust his judgement! We met up before we went away and again he absolutely loved them, I think he would have happily gone off with them without me! They took amazing care of him, our cat Molly got far more attention than she usually does and they looked after our home and cleaned it for us which was a blessing after a long trip. We received updates and photos every day which helped so much in knowing he was happy. They are both lovely people, genuine, funny and caring and have great knowledge of animals. I hope to keep in touch with them as they feel like friends now. Massively grateful for all their help!

I have looked after other people's cats and dogs my whole life and have volunteered at Dogs Trust in my teenage years. I love all animals and am at my happiest when in their company. I love the outdoors and have a boundless energy - its like your dog will be taking me for the walk... but can be calm and assertive when needed. Your dog will get the walk of its life every single time and every second will be spent making sure he/she is enjoying themselves. About: Greetings! With a genuine passion for animals and over a decade of practical experience, I offer reliable and compassionate pet care services. Over the past 10 years, I've had the pleasure of engaging with a variety of pets, specializing in the care of dogs – from large and boisterous to small and shy. My journey into pet care started organically around 5 years ago, evolving into 21 highly rewarding and mostly longer-term house-sitting opportunities. Dogs hold a special place in my heart, and my personal companion, a rescue of almost 13 years, accompanies me on every adventure. In addition to canine care, I've successfully tended to the needs of horses, goats, rabbits, and birds, and maintained marine fish and coral environments. Administration of medications, including tablets, injections, and other forms, is within my realm of expertise. Choosing me as your pet sitter means entrusting your beloved companions to a seasoned caregiver who values their well-being and happiness. Let's make your time away worry-free and filled with contented pets. As a self-employed business owner running a boutique digital agency with a fully remote work structure, incorporating pet care into my daily and weekly routine seamlessly aligns with my flexible schedule. Working remotely provides the advantage of being present for our furry friends throughout the day. In my daily routine, breaks for walks, playtime, and feeding become cherished moments of connection with pets under my care. These breaks not only ensure their well-being but also serve as rejuvenating intervals for me, fostering a balanced work-life dynamic. Whether it's a midday stroll or a quick game of fetch, these interactions contribute to a positive and thriving environment for the pets. Every week, I allocate dedicated time for more extended adventures and activities, catering to the specific needs and preferences of each pet. This structure allows for a harmonious blend of work responsibilities and attentive pet care, creating a fulfilling routine for both myself and the animals. The flexibility inherent in my remote work setup further allows me to adapt swiftly to any unexpected pet care requirements, ensuring that their comfort and happiness remain a top priority. In essence, my routine revolves around creating a balanced and enjoyable environment for pets, enriching their lives while maintaining the productivity of my professional endeavours. Currently, my primary focus is providing dedicated pet care within the familiar surroundings of their own homes. This approach ensures that pets experience minimal disruption to their routines and feel secure and comfortable in their familiar environment. My pet care routine typically includes: Playtime and Exercise: Engaging in play and exercise is an integral part of my care routine. I tailor activities to each pet's preferences and energy levels, whether it's a spirited game of fetch or a stroll around the neighbourhood. Affection and Companionship: Pets thrive on companionship, and I prioritize spending quality time providing affection, belly rubs, and any other attention they may crave. Updates for Pet Owners: Communication is key. I keep pet owners informed with regular updates, including photos, videos and messages, to provide peace of mind about their furry family members. Starting in June, I am excited to announce that I will be expanding my services to include home boarding. This will offer a home-away-from-home experience for pets, where they can enjoy a secure and loving environment.

About: I have successfully looked after many dogs for many years, and love their company. I did have a wonderful dog of my own who was a rescue dog and became incredible company. I have over 30 years experience with looking after dogs and cats. I enjoy looking after other peoples' beloveds while they go on holiday, or when they have work commitments. I have also had many cats of my own and loved them all. I live close to parks and other great walks for dogs. I am a writer and professional artist working from home. Plenty of time for walks, company and play. I have a fenced garden and live on a quiet road. I will always follow your dog's routine, as arranged with yourself, to help make them feel at home. For example, meal times, any special diets, or requirements. It’s always helpful to know your dog’s temperament with other dogs, how they are on/off lead. They will be well cared for. I also paint dog portraits in watercolour, please see photos.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred North Devon walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Devon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
