“Marissa is fantastic. She’s always on time and takes my pup on different walking routes all the time to keep him excited and interested. She lets him take his time sniffing around and people watching. We’ve already referred her to other neighbors and friends. 100% recommend!”

“Celeste stepped in on super short notice, walked my dog for an hour, and was incredibly accommodating and friendly. My dog loved them, and I would definitely hire her again. Highly recommend!”

“Patrick blew my expectations out of the water. He was absolutely fantastic. On time, courteous and friendly. I hope he is willing and available if we need cover in the future. Amazing!”

“Teresa stayed in contact with me while I was on vacation by sending updates and photographs of my dogs. My vacation was stress-free knowing I had someone so wonderful taking care of my dogs and my house. ”
About: I have exhibited compassion for animals of all shapes and sizes throughout my life. During my childhood I frequently volunteered with the ASPCA and participated in summer training programs. During my time at the ASPCA I learned dog walking safety and etiquette, as well as basic dog and cat behavioral knowledge. I have a very soft spot for senior pets. I had extensive time taking care of my elderly childhood cat, who lived to the age of 21. Additionally I have frequently cared for and helped walk elderly dogs of close friends, adapting to a pace and terrain that fit their needs. I am a UC Berkeley undergraduate student who will be living in Santa Cruz over the summer. I will be taking classes asynchronously, and have no other set commitments. The flexibility of my schedule will likely allow me to fit in the needs of your pets. For dog walking, I make sure each dog gets safe, attentive exercise tailored to their energy level, including proper leash handling, hydration, and cleanup. I also check for any behavioral changes and communicate updates to the owner after each walk. For cat sitting, I follow the cat’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, refreshing water, cleaning the litter box, and providing playtime or companionship based on their desires. I also keep the owner informed with regular updates
About: I have owned big dogs my whole life. Two labs, a retriever and a Catahoula mix. I have never know my life without a dog in it. Since I was little I would help take care of the dogs. From them being puppies to elderly dogs. I have watched my own dogs as well as others. I have also an accompanied a mobile dog groomer during her work. I helped wash the dogs as well as keep them calm and happy while she worked. I definitely learned A LOT about cleaning up after puppies while working with her. I am currently home for the summer from college and I do not have any other jobs so I have a lot of free time. I available all week except for when I will be out of town. I understand that every dog has different needs. I am fully flexible and willing to work with your dog in whatever way they need. For example, I have helped my dog through her fear of fireworks by wrapping her in a blanket and holding her (a little peanut butter helped too). Or if your dog needs a lot of exercise to stay calm and happy I will run around for hours. I am adaptable to the dog and I can help in whatever way is needed!
About: This is my first time on this app, but I’ve had plenty of dog walking/dog sitting experience from when I was younger. I used to take care of all the neighborhood dogs so I am used to being around and taking care of all sorts of dog types. I love dogs with a passion and will be the best walker you’ve ever had. I am a recent graduate of UC Santa Cruz and I am gearing up to apply to grad school. My schedule varies, but I’m free most early mornings for walking dogs, etc. I have experience sitting for neighbors pets so I am familiar with taking care of animals in their own homes. I will care for your beloved pet in your home following all of your wants and needs.
About: As a lifelong dog parent, I love being a leader, cuddle puddle, walker, ball thrower, and runner for dogs of all kinds (100% adorable, every single one!) Whether your fuzziest family members prefer long walks on the beach or romps in the mountains, I love taking the furry friends out & about. Daycare, boarding, walking, medication management & special needs are all part of the arc of care, and am confident in showing your dear dogs the same care that my dogs get! I’m currently working part-time, and have a flexible enough schedule to accommodate weekday and weekend care as needed. I’m an early riser & love starting my day outdoors with a nice long walk. I have a fenced in yard & two friendly dogs to keep your pup company, and can accommodate crates for training if you prefer. We’re less than a miles from the beach and go for walks every couple hours, with plenty of play time & meals, as needed.
“I was really nervous about leaving my pup for a week. I met David before leaving and he gave my dog a lot of love and pets when they met and he clearly had so much love for dogs, which made me feel a lot better. He has experience with anxious dogs and is very kind. He was very responsible and always sent pictures and responded right away to my texts while I was gone. I will definitely be requesting his services again!”

I can squeeze pet care into my schedule whenever. I am pretty flexible in schedule and am willing to work with you for whatever you need. In my home, I do not have pets because I live in a studio. About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pups of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I grew up with dogs and have always considered them part of the family. I currently volunteer with the SPCA, where I help care for and support dogs in need. I’ve also fostered dogs through the SPCA, giving them a safe, loving home while they wait for their forever families. In addition to volunteering, I’ve worked as a trusted dog sitter and walker for families in the area. Whether it’s daily walks, overnight stays, or hosting dogs in my home while their families are away, I make sure every pup feels comfortable, safe, and loved. I understand that every dog is unique, and I take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and quirks. I’m happy to share as many updates as you’d like throughout the day, complete with photos and stories from our adventures! Whether we’re exploring local trails, enjoying playtime, or just relaxing at home, your dog will receive attentive, reliable, and affectionate care. I can’t wait to meet you and your best friend! 🐾 I am currently working a hybrid schedule, often from home and get to all day at home when I am taking care of pets. I tend to go on at least one hike a week. I love exploring new areas in Santa Cruz. I have a small fenced yard for breaks outside when at home. I typically take dogs on 2-3 walks a day. I keep my phone available for contact while with your pet.
About: Hi everyone! I’m just starting out on Rover but I’ve been a dog lover since day one. I have experience with dogs both big and small, in urban landscapes and suburban. I am attuned to their varying levels of energy, motivations, and comforts, all of which lets me form a quick bond with them! I’m a full time student at the UC, and work a part time job. Unfortunately, our hours at work were cut so until September, my schedule is relatively light! College dorms and apartments dont exactly have an abundance of dogs so I’ve been lacking in animal love. I hope to get my fill on Rover! My dogs have always been a part of the family, so that’s how I treat them! On my dog walks, I like to let them sniff all they want (but no eating!), I have no problem jogging if they’ve got some zoomies, and above all, I just want them to feel satisfied and ready to rest when they return home. I respect dogs as much as I respect people!
“Dylan was available to walk Mika on very short notice and was super responsive & friendly. He sent photos and left a great summary of their walk together. I’m sure Mika had lots of fun and definitely trust using his services again!”

Sandra was wonderful with my sweetheart tank of a dog...It was their first visit together and I could tell it was a good match. Sandra took my dog for a long walk and knew how to stop her pulling as well as allowed her to sniff. Sandra communicated very well and I'm sure I'll ask for her help again.
Troy did such an awesome job caring for our dog, Diesel. Every day that Troy hung out with Diesel he was totally pooped by the end of the day which was extremely helpful as someone who works full time. Troy was communicative and accommodating to our needs. I couldn't recommend him more!!
