“Skye , is a lovely professional dog walker. My dog Scooby warmed up to her right away. After just a few days of service Scooby is now very excited to see her knowing a good walk is on the way. He can tell she’s an animal person. Skye is easy to communicate with, friendly and very professional. Can’t say enough of what a find skye is on rover. Happy new customer, highly recommend!”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities, including working at a dog daycare caring for up to 20 dogs at a time. I’m a Certified Veterinary Assistant and Pet CPR certified, so safety is always a priority. I’m patient, dependable, loving, and comfortable with everything from energetic dogs who need a good walk and playtime to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and attention. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs. Most importantly, I treat every dog like I would want someone to treat my own—with love, respect, patience, and plenty of attention. 🐾❤️ I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give dogs plenty of time, attention, and care throughout the day. I enjoy making walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship part of my daily routine, and I’m happy to work around each dog’s individual schedule and needs. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my priority. I follow each owner’s instructions carefully and respect every pet’s normal routine. About: Hi! I'm Seth. and I have over 30 years of experience caring for all kinds of animals. I have returned to California and I am now located in Santa Cruz! I'm comfortable with all dog breeds, all sizes and all ages. I am patient, kind and maintain a tidy, safe, and relaxed environment, caring for your animals and your home, inside and out. I spend my free time volunteering at equine rescues. I live a relatively quiet life, keeping my social circle very small which works well with dedicating myself to providing a full time pet care service. I am also experienced with special needs and senior dogs, and up until very recently, I was a daily volunteer at Starry Skies Equine Rescue and Sanctuary in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where I worked to provide gentle, attentive care to horses, mules, donkeys, ponies, goats, pigs and cattle. Dogs & cats are my primary specialty, but I connect easily with all animals. I pet sit as a full time job and I will be seeking equine rescue volunteer opportunities to fill my availability. My availability is generally wide open. I do not have a "regular/day" job. I offer a true, full time pet sitting service. We will start with a 15-30 minute in-home meet and greet. Please provide a printed list detailing veterinary office/phone number, preferred emergency animal hospital, routines/routes, typical walk times and duration, and any helpful reminders that will help me in keeping your dog(s) and other animals safe and happy. A one time demonstration of your preferred feeding schedule/routine is a good idea, so if possible the meet and greet should be as close to this time as possible, allowing me to feed them will start the trust association into my care. Unfortunately, I'm not hosting any animals in my home at this time.

About: I love dogs and I love taking them out and about on walks! I have taken care of many dogs from the age of 2 to 16. My most recent experience includes taking care of senior dogs. I am currently a teacher on summer break so I have lots of time on my hands to dog sit and take dogs on walks! I take care of pets in clients homes by ensuring the dog has all of its needs met. I always make sure to spend extra quality time with the dog if I noticed that it is feeling sad that its owners are away.
“I have asked Mary Ann to help with the care of our family dog twice now and both times she was responsive with booking, cleaning up an accident inside the house, giving meds and showing up in time frames requested. We are really grateful for her help and service.”

“Anna was wonderful in taking my dog, Haley, for walks when I was laid up with an issue with my foot. Anna let me know when she was on the way over, very on time, super nice upon meeting, great with introducing to my dog Haley and engaging with Haley, very sweet. I so appreciated Anna's help and would definitely reach out to Anna again when I need help.”

About: Caring for pets has always been more than just a job for me—it's a passion. Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. From playful puppies learning their first commands to senior dogs needing extra patience and care, I understand the unique attention each stage of life requires. What sets me apart from other sitters is my personalized approach. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, preferences, and routine so they feel safe and comfortable in my care. I’m experienced with basic puppy training, leash manners, and crate training. For older pets, I provide gentle, attentive support—whether that means administering medication, helping with mobility, or simply offering lots of love and companionship. I believe communication is key, so I always keep pet parents updated with photos and notes to ensure peace of mind while you're away. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I work in IT from home, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to be available throughout the day for pet care. Whether it’s regular walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping your pet company, I can easily fit their needs into my daily routine. When caring for pets in your home, I treat your space—and your pet—with the same respect and attention I give my own. I follow your routines closely, whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, medication, or house rules, to keep your dog comfortable and stress-free. I understand how important trust is when someone enters your home, and I always communicate clearly, keep things tidy, and send regular updates so you feel at ease while you're away. Your pet’s safety and comfort come first. I pay close attention to their behavior and needs, and I’m happy to accommodate special requests or routines to help them feel secure. Whether your dog needs quiet companionship, active playtime, or just a calm presence while you're gone, I provide reliable, loving care every time.

“Teresa stayed in contact with me while I was on vacation by sending updates and photographs of my dogs. My vacation was stress-free knowing I had someone so wonderful taking care of my dogs and my house. ”
About: I’ve pet-sat dogs, cats, geckos, and fish for over six years. Two of my best friends—Biscuit and Cheerio—were rescued from the SPCA, and they sparked my love for animal care. I treat every pet like family and love getting to know their unique personalities. I bring a calm, attentive approach, and always prioritize trust, communication, and genuine care—for both pets and their people. I recently graduated from Cal Poly as a student athlete studying anatomy and physiology. As I am staying home in Santa Cruz studying for tests to apply to graduate school, I am very flexible to the weekdays and weekends to spend quality time with animals. I love having pets around as part of my daily routine—walks, playtime, and companionship fit perfectly into my active lifestyle. You can count on me to be reliable, communicative, and fully present with your pets. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, their safety and comfort always come first. I follow feeding routines, medication needs, and any special instructions exactly as provided. I make sure pets have a calm, clean space and keep a close eye on their behavior and well-being. I believe trust is built through clear communication, so I’ll always keep you updated with photos and check-ins. My goal is to make your pet feel secure and loved—just like they would at home.
“Rachel is a great walker. She has been walking our 2 10 month old GSC pups for about 6 months every day now and has been aiding in training during walks. We definitely reccomend Rachel for her above and beyond efforts, dependability, and character! Keep up the great work and thank you for everything your doing!”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was 15, always been watching pets for friends, family members or neighbors. I’ve always had such good experiences working with animals. I absolutely love them. In fact, I used to have pets of my own. I am eager to get on here and meet more lovely animals. Currently fully booked with pet sitting for the months of September, October & November. I am still open for drop in visits or occasional dog walking! Fall semester starts August 24th and ends December 12th. Always more than welcome to reach out to me if you have any questions. I will be taking your fur baby on plenty of walks. Especially if you don’t have a fence in yard. Exercise is important to me.

Jared was great with my dogs and very quick to respond as well as proactive with scheduling and communication. My dogs were very happy when he met them and were nice and tired after their walk. Jared also listened well and followed my instructions. I will definitely have Jared come back!

Sandra was wonderful with my sweetheart tank of a dog...It was their first visit together and I could tell it was a good match. Sandra took my dog for a long walk and knew how to stop her pulling as well as allowed her to sniff. Sandra communicated very well and I'm sure I'll ask for her help again.
Troy did such an awesome job caring for our dog, Diesel. Every day that Troy hung out with Diesel he was totally pooped by the end of the day which was extremely helpful as someone who works full time. Troy was communicative and accommodating to our needs. I couldn't recommend him more!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
