“My lab mix Steinbeck had a great relaxed time at his first overnight stretch (3 nights and days) at Camp Mita, after previously spending several good doggy daycare days there. He is a rescue with a trauma history so he can become quite nervous when I am away-- but not so at all when with MIta and family!--who gave him so much TLC as well as lovely walks. MIta's calm and friendly older yellow lab also clearly was a very reassuring presence to him. I loved receiving the gracious daily photos so I could see how "at home" he was making himself. He came home completely grounded. I was able to enjoy my time away so much more because he clearly enjoyed his time with Madhumita. Thanks for your attentiveness to a sensitive dog, Mita!”

Mamoo is sensitive and perceptive regarding cats' preferences and communications and adjusts his care to meet your pets' needs. For instance if your pet is too nervous to come out to regular feeding area, he will bring food to the cat and approach slowly and respectfully. My cats warmed up to Mamoo and he gave them lots of love and attention. My cats were not showing any signs of stress after my return which is unusual for one of my cats! About: I have been caring for my 13 year old dog, Molly, for 11 years. I am also an active volunteer at the county animal shelter, working with dogs (1,000+ hours) and cats (400+ hours). I have a special place in my heart for dogs with behavioral and medical needs, and working with them at the shelter has taught me patience and skills that help to make the animals more comfortable. “Nora is a GIFT! About a year ago my now 14 year-old cat Riley abruptly lost a significant amount of weight and bloodwork showed some kind of significant liver event though nothing was evident in an XRAY or ultrasound. He was prescribed two ongoing medications to support his liver & reduce inflammation; a small pill that needs to absorb during a fast (no food for 2 hours before and 1 hour after) and a liquid medication that needs to be given with food. In addition to the with/without food medications complexity, successfully pilling a cat every day requires a deft hand—pretty straightforward for someone who’s good at it, increasingly difficult each day for anyone who isn’t. Add to the equation both Riley and his brother Ash are initially shy with strangers. All things considered to me the situation seemed like a complicated ask for a pet sitter, so over the past year I hadn’t gone away on any trips longer than 2-3 days. In the face of a terminal illness diagnosis in my direct family I came to terms with having to hope for the best using a pet sitter for an 8 day family vacation though I was very concerned about how Riley would be affected by the extended change in routine. Enter Nora; highly intelligent, highly *attuned* (to the pets & the people), instantly trustworthy, and very gracious, a rare combination of total professionalism & grounded compassion. Though Nora was only here for about an hour each day her presence *visibly improved* Riley’s health. I didn’t know it was possible to come home from being away for 8 days to find Riley noticeably fluffier and more energetic than when I left, but that’s the magic that unfolded under Nora’s care. She also sent me pictures of Riley and Ash every day and let me know how they were each doing, sharing her sophisticated curiosity & creativity getting Riley to eat more and Ash to gradually come out of his shyness with clear warmth towards both of them. It’s extremely clear Nora *truly cares* and is keenly observant and exceptionally competent, a combination that made it possible for me to relax so much more on my trip. About: I’ve got experience dog-sitting, and dog-walking, as well as living with dogs and love when I get the chance to take care of them. I’ve had a dog my entire life until her recent passing and have loved and cared for all animals even before I got one. I’m incredibly comfortable with dogs of all sizes, types, and temperaments. About: I love dogs and I love taking them out and about on walks! I have taken care of many dogs from the age of 2 to 16. My most recent experience includes taking care of senior dogs. About: Hi! I'm Seth. and I have over 30 years of experience caring for all kinds of animals. I have returned to California and I am now located in Santa Cruz! I'm comfortable with all dog breeds, all sizes and all ages. I am patient, kind and maintain a tidy, safe, and relaxed environment, caring for your animals and your home, inside and out. I spend my free time volunteering at equine rescues. I live a relatively quiet life, keeping my social circle very small which works well with dedicating myself to providing a full time pet care service. I am also experienced with special needs and senior dogs, and up until very recently, I was a daily volunteer at Starry Skies Equine Rescue and Sanctuary in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where I worked to provide gentle, attentive care to horses, mules, donkeys, ponies, goats, pigs and cattle. Dogs & cats are my primary specialty, but I connect easily with all animals. I pet sit as a full time job and I will be seeking equine rescue volunteer opportunities to fill my availability. My availability is generally wide open. I do not have a "regular/day" job. I offer a true, full time pet sitting service. We will start with a 15-30 minute in-home meet and greet. Please provide a printed list detailing veterinary office/phone number, preferred emergency animal hospital, routines/routes, typical walk times and duration, and any helpful reminders that will help me in keeping your dog(s) and other animals safe and happy. A one time demonstration of your preferred feeding schedule/routine is a good idea, so if possible the meet and greet should be as close to this time as possible, allowing me to feed them will start the trust association into my care. Unfortunately, I'm not hosting any animals in my home at this time.

“My lab mix Steinbeck had a great relaxed time at his first overnight stretch (3 nights and days) at Camp Mita, after previously spending several good doggy daycare days there. He is a rescue with a trauma history so he can become quite nervous when I am away-- but not so at all when with MIta and family!--who gave him so much TLC as well as lovely walks. MIta's calm and friendly older yellow lab also clearly was a very reassuring presence to him. I loved receiving the gracious daily photos so I could see how "at home" he was making himself. He came home completely grounded. I was able to enjoy my time away so much more because he clearly enjoyed his time with Madhumita. Thanks for your attentiveness to a sensitive dog, Mita!”

About: I've had dogs for over 10 years and have taken care of dogs and cats with all sorts of needs/medical care such as diabetic, arthritic and eye-sight impaired animals. I trained both of my dogs in agility and behavior classes so I have experience with training and extended behaviors. I volunteer at the Santa Cruz Animal Shelter and have taken multiple classes on dog behavior and dog walking safety. I am currently a UC Santa Cruz student but my schedule is fairly flexible since I commute/live off campus. Currently I only have one class per day, Monday through Friday so I can be present to provide majority of the care with minimal outings. I always ask clients about their yard and preferences for their animals safety in the yard especially at night. Depending on their circumstances, I will scan the yard for any unusual activity and safety concerns. As well as always being in close proximity when the dog wants to go in the front/backyard.
“Norelvis and Chris did a great job watching our pup, Reggie. He's a 7 mo old puppy and this was his first overnight away from home since we adopted him 2 months ago. We booked a meet & greet a week before to get everyone familiar with each other. Their house is very puppy proofed and they have great indoor and outdoor space for the dogs to hang out and play. They even helped Reggie work on some homework exercises for his puppy class he's in (practicing down, stay, leave it, etc). They sent photo and video updates daily. Super smooth experience. “We booked with Jade because our regular sitter was out of town, but she (and her husband) may become our go to! She did a thorough meet and greet the day after we contacted her, and asked tons of great questions. She walked us through her home and yard so we saw where the pups would be (very uncommon in my experience, so I appreciated it). Their home was neat, nothing extra that the pups would get into potentially. I loved that they (and their beds) came home clean, there was only 1 additional dog (other than their 2 small ones) in their care, and they kept to our pups regular schedule. Jade and her husband take a very professional approach to their care, even though they both work and Rover is not their main gig. Thank you Jade, I’m glad we kept looking and found you. 😊 the pups loved hanging with them.”
