I can and have taken care of puppies, kittens, big dogs, little dogs, and cats of all types. Please let me know if you have any questions! I am working from home most days right now. I am more than happy to meet with you before committing to take care of your animal. I want you to feel comfortable leaving your animal in my care!
“Sweta has been amazing with our old man. Takes him on nice long walks and makes sure he’s okay while at work. I feel at ease when she’s coming to take care of him.”

“Fantastic dog walker. Good with our 1.5 year German Shepherd who has a lot of energy and can be a bit nippy when overwhelmed. He handled her great and she was a good girl for him too. Will hire again.”

About: I love pets like my own. Clean home, big heart - because your dog deserves more than care; they deserve connection, comfort, and genuine attention. Due to personal preference or local laws, I do not accept dog breeds: Pitbull, Doberman, or Rottweiler I'm home daily with a flexible schedule to care for your pup with focused love, peace, calm, and personal care -- just like you would. Meet and greet is required! I have a spacious, fenced yard and a cozy indoor space. Just tell me your pup's routine, needs, and preferences.
“Kelly was great. I needed someone last minute for walks on two days and she handled a 7-month old Lab puppy like a pro. Very nice and communicative. Would hire her again for sure!”

“Sienna was a great help to us! We booked her for a 30 minute walk a few days last week. She was on time, professional, and conscientious of our dog's needs by refreshing water and giving him a snack. Sienna even showed some extra TLC on the last day when her schedule allowed for her to take our dog on a longer walk! Bandit loves her and we are very pleased with the excellent service Sienna provided. We will definitely be re-booking with her in the near future!”
“Eric is reliable, communicates, and is very attentive. My rescue needed someone who is sensitive, stable, and structured - he is very excited to see Eric and loves his walks.”
About: I have almost 30 years of experience taking care of pets, from mostly dogs, to gerbils, to fish, to rabbits, and even cats. It all started by taking care of my aunt and uncle's dog and cat while they were away. I also helped my cousins with their rabbits when we were younger. Over the years, my family had many goldfish (won from fairs or carnivals), two gerbils, and a black lab who lived almost 14 years. In college, one of my roommates got a rabbit that we all worked together to take care of as well. Now, I mainly help family and friends with their pets while they're away, but I would love to branch out. I enjoy taking dogs for walks and playing with them in the backyard (or inside a house if it's allowed). I'm looking to try this out as a side gig and possibly turn it into more, so I am dedicated to find time that meets your schedule. Since I live in an apartment, I am unable to take care of any pets (not already listed on my lease) in my home. However, I am willing to come to your house and will make sure to lock any doors used and make sure everything is cleaned up as much as possible before leaving.
About: Nice to meet you! My kids and I look forward to spending time with your fur-baby! A little back-story of me.. I was born and raised here in Alexandria, Virginia. I have two kids, 17 and 9 - Along with one dog, an almost 2 year old Pug (female, spayed - her name is Mochi). I have been partnered with Rover off and on since 2019, and now work from home FULL TIME - therefore I am able to be fully active on Rover, and look forward to having some co-workers ;-) I work from home, so am very flexible! I am able to take your loved one out for walks several times a day, and I also have a fenced in "yard".. I say yard, as we live in a townhome :-) Your dog will be treated like family! We love to snuggle on the couch... I have dog gates if need be (some elderly dogs do not do well with stairs), as well as extra of pretty much EVERYTHING.
“Betty was an awesome walker for Orion. She even played with Orion, and he loved it. She treated him like he was hers. I will definitely book her again and highly recommend her!”

“Brianna is a great dog walker!! She is very quick to respond to messages and took the lead organizating the meet and greet. She was available on pretty short notice, which was such a relief. Brianna was immediately comfortable with my 150lb dog, which means she is comfortable with any dog! She is a great dog walker and I will be using her regularly!”

“Tiana is amazing!!! We booked her over our vacation and she got there everyday on time and took lots of pics of Archie. So sweet and kind! Will definitely book her again soon!! Your pet is in safe hands with her”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life and currently my family has a golden retriever since 2019 and helped train and take care of him all these years. I genuinely love dogs and think they should be treated well and taken care of and given love as they always give us love and affection. I am a Kindergarten teacher Monday to Friday, so late afternoons, evenings and weekends work for me either or both for walks or dog sitting. I care for pets in a home like they are my own. I am respectful to the instructions left to me on how to be with them, as well as that they should be treated kindly. The house I rent does not allow pets, so I could only do clients houses for dog sitting
About: With over 10 years of dog sitting experience, I have provided dependable, compassionate care for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. My experience includes feeding, walking, administering basic medications, maintaining routines, and ensuring pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I take pride in creating a loving and stress-free environment where every dog receives personalized attention, exercise, and care as if they were my own. I am committed to providing a safe, loving, and comfortable environment for every dog in my care while ensuring pet owners have peace of mind during their time away. I have a friendly and playful toy poodle who enjoys being around and interacting with other animals, helping create a welcoming and comfortable environment for pets in my care. Cassidy is simply amazing ! I was impressed with the map of where she walked my dogs and time of check in and checkout! She even stairf a few extra minutes ! And also left a great report about their walk .. it felt like I was right there! She truly cares about my doggies (and I am sure all other animals) and I am so happy I found her ! She is becoming a part of my dogs routine. I would highly recommend Cassidy !
Sonya was very patient and persistent when my dog didn't want to go on his walk. She knew it was important for him to go on a potty break and stayed until the job was done. I appreciate that she was very communicative and sent many pictures. She did a great job and I would recommend her to anyone!

Kadyah was wonderful with Dakota! This was our first time booking with her, and she was communicative, reliable, and took great care of her. I felt completely comfortable knowing Dakota was in good hands, and she seemed so happy with her. I would absolutely book with Kadyah again and highly recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
