I strictly adhere to your pet's normal routine—from feeding times to walking schedules—to minimize stress while you are away. I treat your home with the utmost respect, always aiming to leave it as tidy as I found it. I am also happy to handle basic household tasks such as bringing in the mail, watering plants, and rotating lights to give the house a 'lived-in' look for added security.

To ensure a safe and happy experience for everyone, I appreciate full transparency about your pet's temperament. Please let me know if your pet has any history of aggression, resource guarding (with food or toys), or reactivity to other animals/people on walks. It is also helpful to know their 'triggers'—such as loud noises, skateboards, or specific handling sensitivities (like touching paws or ears). The more I know about their quirks and anxieties, the better I can prepare to keep them calm and comfortable.
A typical day
Every pet has a different idea of 'fun,' and I love figuring out what makes yours tick. If your pet is an adventurer, we will go on 'sniffari' walks where they can explore new scents and stretch their legs. If you have a senior dog or a couch potato, 'fun' might mean gentle belly rubs, listening to music, or just sitting together on the floor for some quality bonding time. I tailor my activity level entirely to your pet’s age, breed, and mood.

I've been caring for dogs and cats since 2009 when friends asked if I would walk/sit for their Newfoundland puppy while they were on vacation. I had just started in animal sheltering. Everyone involved had a wonderful experience. Before I knew it, I was a known Dog Uncle - there was no going back 😎 I'm thrilled to offer my years of experience to anyone who might want them! I have hours logged with more breeds than I recall - Newfoundlands, pugs, labs, pit pulls, bull dogs (American and British), beagles, poodles, dalmations, chihuahuas...your dog's individual personality and needs are always the TOP concern when you trust them into my care. Since June of 2018 I've performed over 2,000 dog walks all over Fairfax, Alexandria and Arlington via my own business and other sources. References and photos from previous clients are available!
