“Jeana was amazing with my fur babies! They greeted her at the door and were super excited for their walks and getting fresh air. She followed direction effectively and even helped out when one my plants fell over. She was very communicative and reached out when she had questions to make sure she had solutions for anything that may come up. Definitely happy with Jeana and trust her with my pups wholeheartedly! Highly recommend!”

“Lori was AMAZING with our dog Jack! She is reliable, very sweet with our older dog, takes great notes on her visits, and was thorough on intake to understand our needs and Jack’s norms. Love and we’ll be back! ❤️”

“Matt is a great walker for Nala. He is able to work with dogs who have anxiety and provides positive encouragement for Nala. In time, Nala has come to enjoy their walks together and now she speeds through them. Thank you, Matt, for everything!”

“Ian did a great job filling in for a few noontime walks for my young (still learning and sometimes reactive) hound. Thank you for the feedback and photos. And thank you for a tired pup!”

“Elyse has been reliable and communicative. My two cats and small dog are comfortable around her and enjoy her visits! Thanks, Elyse, for helping me with my fur babies :)”

About: My partner and I both had small to large dogs in our families since we were children. For the past several years, we've dogsat all sizes and ages for our friends and clients. Having a dog ourselves, we understand the needs and mindset of a dog. We believe in daily mental and physical stimulation. This can include sniffmats, food puzzles, tug, training, chase, fetch, walks, hikes, jogs, and more. If your dog loves to play and be active, we're the sitters for you. A typical day is: early morning walk/outdoor play, breakfast, lunchtime walk/outdoor play, evening dinner, night time walk. On weekends, we may find a local hike to enjoy. We have a large, secluded, unfenced backyard that's fun for the dogs to run around or bask in the sun on a long leash or offleash if trained. Our dog sleeps in a crate and uses his crate whenever he wants some "me time." He is so friendly and great about sharing his toys, but he will steal a toy to entice play. To be respectful of our neighbors, we kindly ask for non-excessive barker guests.

About: I’ve had dogs since I was 7! I had a cockapoo for 13 years and now have a 5 year old mini bernedoodle. I’ve been walking dogs for neighbors and friends over the past few years. I just finished my Master’s degree in Europe, and am working a remote internship so have a very flexible schedule. I’m able to watch or walk dogs after 10 am on both weekdays and weekends. I won’t be able to have dogs or cats stay at my house due to my dog preferring her own space. I have experience with dogs up to 65lb so I feel comfortable keeping small to medium sized dogs safe. I also have significant experience with children which I do feel in some ways transfers over to taking care of pets.
“It's a pleasure to be rebooking with Kaitlyn and Auston!! They are reliable and provide excellent communication (including asking questions I forget to provide information for first)!”

About: I've been around dogs most of my life and really enjoy spending time with four-leggeds. I'm great with small dogs and big dogs (and everything in between, ha) and am very patient. I'm currently looking for a full-time job and can generally make most time windows work during the week. Weekends are also not hard to figure out. Dogs are members of the family and I treat them with kindness, patience, and clearly delineate boundaries. I enjoy walking and exercising dogs of all shapes and sizes.
“Our pup was chill when we returned home; relaxed from his long walk in the cold. Carly took him on a nice long walk and he is now, a few hours later, happily napping on my lap. Carly must have kept him moving since they did almost 2 miles! And he loves to sniff, so that’s impressive! Thanks for giving him a healthy diversion while we were out.”

“Samantha was wonderful with my dog! It was a lovely day for a walk, and she took great care of my dog, making sure she got some exercise, a potty break, and even a lunchtime snack. Samantha was kind, caring, and very attentive to my dog’s needs. I really appreciated her thoughtfulness and would highly recommend Samantha.”

“Brittani has been walking my dog Denim this past week, and I honestly couldn’t be happier. Returning to the office has been a huge adjustment for both me and Denim since she struggles with separation anxiety, but Brittani has been so patient, kind, communicative, and reliable throughout the transition. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs she works with, and that peace of mind means everything to me. Really grateful we found her, and Denim is too 🐾”

About: I have cared for my pup Java at all stages of life, from his energetic puppy phase (which brought our house many gifts of dead squirrels or chickens) to his current slow moving (and less critter hunting) old age. I love walking dogs and will even take them on my runs if they’re the active type. Whatever type of activity that suits them I can do - from backyard playtime to a run through a park! I am a student off for the summer with no other job… I have endless free time and definitely need something to keep me busy!! I will care for your pet the way that you as the owner prefer. While my dog can go off-leash in grassy areas I understand that not all are the same and will follow the instructions you give! I do not have a fenced in yard but can take your pup to a nearby dog park if they’re off-leash time is what they like!
“Lenny did a great job taking our 2 Great Danes on daily walks. The girls really like her and were very excited when she arrived every day. It is apparent how much Lenny likes animals and her enthusiasm and care for them really shows.”

No leaving your pet alone for hours. I have hands-on experience with cats and dogs, including administering medications, so I’m comfortable with special needs and daily routines. I offer dog walks, drop-in visits to feed and check on your pets, and boarding in my home, which has a big fenced backyard where dogs have real room to run. Whether your pet needs meds, a meal, a walk, or steady companionship, I’ll keep them safe, comfortable, and loved! Since I’m studying for the MCAT from home, my schedule is flexible. I can keep up with regular routines, medication times, and meals, and I’m available for boarding, drop-in visits, and dog walks on both weekdays and weekends. Any time you need me - I’m here! I know how hard it is to leave your pet with someone new, as a pet parent myself, I don’t take that trust lightly. Your fur baby will be welcomed into a calm, loving home with a big fenced backyard where dogs can run and play safely, and cozy quiet spaces where cats can feel at home. Pets are never left alone for long. They’ll have company, comfort, and attention all day. I can crate dogs if that’s part of their routine, and I’m experienced with administering medications, so pets with special needs are in caring, capable hands. I follow every feeding and care instruction closely, keep everything clean, and keep a close eye out for the little signs that tell me a pet is happy or that something’s off. Most of all, I’ll treat your pet with the same love and attention I give my own.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Wellington
Carly was absolutely fantastic caring for our dog, Kongo, while we were away on vacation. She was consistently timely, punctual, responsible, and extremely responsive throughout the entire process. Most importantly, Kongo absolutely loved her, which gave us tremendous peace of mind while traveling. What truly stood out was Carly’s professionalism and calm demeanor when she unexpectedly had to deal with a malfunctioning smoke alarm at our home during our trip. She handled the situation confidently and without hesitation, acting as though it was no inconvenience at all — despite it being something far beyond what should normally be expected of a dog walker. Knowing Carly was caring for Kongo made our vacation far more relaxing and enjoyable. We are incredibly grateful for her reliability, kindness, and dedication. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for trustworthy and exceptional pet care. Five stars all the way!

Jhonathan took excellent care of my pug when I was out of town for a few days. He came over multiple times a day, fed him, and made sure to tell me he was okay by sending me updates. I couldn’t be more thankful to Jhonathan. He’s my go to person to take care of my senior pug.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
