“Lori was AMAZING with our dog Jack! She is reliable, very sweet with our older dog, takes great notes on her visits, and was thorough on intake to understand our needs and Jack’s norms. Love and we’ll be back! ❤️”

“Elyse has been reliable and communicative. My two cats and small dog are comfortable around her and enjoy her visits! Thanks, Elyse, for helping me with my fur babies :)”

“Our pup was chill when we returned home; relaxed from his long walk in the cold. Carly took him on a nice long walk and he is now, a few hours later, happily napping on my lap. Carly must have kept him moving since they did almost 2 miles! And he loves to sniff, so that’s impressive! Thanks for giving him a healthy diversion while we were out.”

“Matt is a great walker for Nala. He is able to work with dogs who have anxiety and provides positive encouragement for Nala. In time, Nala has come to enjoy their walks together and now she speeds through them. Thank you, Matt, for everything!”

“Jeana is AMAZING. She is incredibly kind and wonderful to my dogs, understands their very different needs and goes above and beyond to meet their needs. She is also very quick with responding and very communicative (and takes the best pet photos!). She really loves the animals like they are her own and I can not recommend her enough.”

About: I have cared for my pup Java at all stages of life, from his energetic puppy phase (which brought our house many gifts of dead squirrels or chickens) to his current slow moving (and less critter hunting) old age. I love walking dogs and will even take them on my runs if they’re the active type. Whatever type of activity that suits them I can do - from backyard playtime to a run through a park! I am a student off for the summer with no other job… I have endless free time and definitely need something to keep me busy!! I will care for your pet the way that you as the owner prefer. While my dog can go off-leash in grassy areas I understand that not all are the same and will follow the instructions you give! I do not have a fenced in yard but can take your pup to a nearby dog park if they’re off-leash time is what they like!
“Lenny did a great job taking our 2 Great Danes on daily walks. The girls really like her and were very excited when she arrived every day. It is apparent how much Lenny likes animals and her enthusiasm and care for them really shows.”

About: I've been around dogs most of my life and really enjoy spending time with four-leggeds. I'm great with small dogs and big dogs (and everything in between, ha) and am very patient. I'm currently looking for a full-time job and can generally make most time windows work during the week. Weekends are also not hard to figure out. Dogs are members of the family and I treat them with kindness, patience, and clearly delineate boundaries. I enjoy walking and exercising dogs of all shapes and sizes.
About: I’ve grown up around dogs and cats and currently have three dogs of my own. With 5 years of experience working as a kennel assistant, I’ve developed strong skills in pet care and handling. I’m comfortable working with dogs of all temperaments, ensuring each pet receives the attention and care they need. I’m currently a college student with plenty of time to play with your pups! I’m free Friday-Monday, most of Wednesdays and Tuesday and Thursday evenings. When caring for pets in their owner’s home, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment tailored to each pet’s unique needs. I follow their regular routines for feeding, exercise, and playtime to help reduce stress and keep them happy. I also provide plenty of attention, ensuring pets feel secure and loved while their owners are away.
“Kaitlyn and Auston have been lovely with my pup! They give wonderful feedback via Rober card and were very pleasant to meet for two meet and greets (: Envy gets her much needed walkies and outdoor time with them and comes back happy!”

About: I’ve had dogs since I was 7! I had a cockapoo for 13 years and now have a 5 year old mini bernedoodle. I’ve been walking dogs for neighbors and friends over the past few years. I just finished my Master’s degree in Europe, and am working a remote internship so have a very flexible schedule. I’m able to watch or walk dogs after 10 am on both weekdays and weekends. I won’t be able to have dogs or cats stay at my house due to my dog preferring her own space. I have experience with dogs up to 65lb so I feel comfortable keeping small to medium sized dogs safe. I also have significant experience with children which I do feel in some ways transfers over to taking care of pets.
“Review for Ian D. I can't recommend Ian D highly enough! My two dogs have their quirks—especially my Staffy, who tends to be a bit wary of men. Ian was aware of this and took the time to ease into the situation, which I found incredibly impressive. Now, Izzy is a huge fan! He was consistently on time and provided them with wonderful walks every day. It's clear he genuinely cares for the dogs and understands their needs. His responsible approach and great personality make him an outstanding choice for any dog owner. If you're looking for a reliable and caring dog walker, sitter look no further!”

About: I’ve cared for both cats and dogs since I was very young. Through my former work at a local animal shelter, I gained valuable experience with pets of all species, ages, sizes, and needs. My days are very flexible, so I’m easily able to fit in visits at most times throughout the day. If we schedule recurring visits, I prefer they mostly stay at the same times from week to week. At this time, I am only able to care for your pet in your own home. If you have any questions about my services, please message me. I will do everything possible to accommodate the individual needs of your dog or cat.
About: I have owned pets with my family since I was a baby, and I have been volunteering with animal rescues since the age of 14! (to care for and clean up after cats/dogs.) I also own 14 fish tanks, and 2 beautiful kitties. All very well loved animals. I am currently working part time job during school. I am a college student but only have classes about 3 days a week. I am able to work best after school/ work hours, or on off days! Contact me and we can work something out:) I am an experienced pet owner, and I am happy to provide all the basics like, cleaning cages/litter boxes, food/water bowls, refreshing water and feeding, taking on walks, and playing with the your pet, and of COURSE providing lots of love and attention😸!
About: I currently own a beautiful eleven year old border collie/lab mix! Even while I was in college, all three times, I still took care of her! I will be ready and open to play with and exercise your dog(s)! I am available most days of the week in the afternoon-evening range, about 11 AM - 6 PM.I will be more than happy to cater and care towards your dog or dogs needs, even if it just for a simple walk. I would love to make sure your dog(s) are eating well, and staying healthy and fit which can be hard while working. If you have any other pets like cats or small animals, I am more than willing to also provide care for them as well! I also work as a substitute teacher so please be flexible if I have to cancel or postpone because of that! Thank you! I’m currently in between jobs so I will have plenty of time for your pups and other pets. I work mostly during the late morning and late afternoon. I have a fenced yard for my dog and take extra care to make sure my dog is safe at home, during walks, and when we travel. I will provide the same care to your pets as well
“Brittani has been walking my dog Denim this past week, and I honestly couldn’t be happier. Returning to the office has been a huge adjustment for both me and Denim since she struggles with separation anxiety, but Brittani has been so patient, kind, communicative, and reliable throughout the transition. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs she works with, and that peace of mind means everything to me. Really grateful we found her, and Denim is too 🐾”

“Rachel was amazing! She helped us out on short notice and exceeded our expectations. Our dog Lucy can be shy with new people, but she warmed up to Rachel right away, which was such a relief. Rachel even gave extra attention to our cat Nelson (who wasn’t part of the booking), and both pets were so happy and relaxed when we got home. We’re so grateful for the care she gave and would absolutely book with her again!”

“Jenny and Chas had an hour walk and for part of it she took him to her fenced back yard so he could run, his favorite. He even found a friend in the next yard that he could run the fence with, and Jenny sent me a video! Chas had a great time and came home with a big doggy smile.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Fort Hunt
Carly was absolutely fantastic caring for our dog, Kongo, while we were away on vacation. She was consistently timely, punctual, responsible, and extremely responsive throughout the entire process. Most importantly, Kongo absolutely loved her, which gave us tremendous peace of mind while traveling. What truly stood out was Carly’s professionalism and calm demeanor when she unexpectedly had to deal with a malfunctioning smoke alarm at our home during our trip. She handled the situation confidently and without hesitation, acting as though it was no inconvenience at all — despite it being something far beyond what should normally be expected of a dog walker. Knowing Carly was caring for Kongo made our vacation far more relaxing and enjoyable. We are incredibly grateful for her reliability, kindness, and dedication. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for trustworthy and exceptional pet care. Five stars all the way!

Jhonathan took excellent care of my pug when I was out of town for a few days. He came over multiple times a day, fed him, and made sure to tell me he was okay by sending me updates. I couldn’t be more thankful to Jhonathan. He’s my go to person to take care of my senior pug.

My boy, Henry, and I are repeat customers and so very thankful for Miranda! She walks Henry on a weekly basis and I know he looks forward to her visits! Knowing she had experience with a dog who just went through ACL surgery gave me so much added peace of mind. Highly recommend Miranda!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
