Gus is five years old and we've had him since he was 10 weeks and he has never stayed with anyone other than family or close friends. Therefore, we were a bit nervous about leaving Gus with a stranger. Well Carlos was amazing! We cannot say enough good things about the way he not only took care of Gus but also reassured us on a daily basis through photos and detailed texts how great Gus was doing. What a relief! Gus interacted very well with Carlos’s dog as well as a couple of small dogs that came and went during Gus’s fun stay. About: Hi! I'm Ryan, a recent grad from West Potomac heading to the University of Virginia next year! I've been taking care of animals as long as I can remember, and I've had a strict schedule for my current dog (5pm feeding & 6pm walk) since we've had him (6yrs) ! I love all animals and I'm excited to take care of any animals that need it. Every day, as long as I can remember, I've had to feed and walk my dog at strict times in the afternoon as to keep a schedule for him. This makes it much less confusing and has him calm. I'll miss him at college, but I'm glad I can keep him on track while I'm here. Since I was young, my parents have always taught me to be on my best behavior in others homes. About: I’ve had and loved pets my entire life! (I was convinced I was going to be a vet until I realized I would very likely sob every time a pet got sick.) From my black lab, Raven, to my cats Lily and Langston, to now, my long-haired chihuahua, Midge, animals are just a part of the day-to-day! About: I have grown up in a house with cats since I was an infant and quickly learned to care for them from a young age. As I grew older and entered my teen years I began volunteering to take care of shelter cats just as a little something to brighten my day, and to make sure all the shelter kitties were loved. About: I owned a dog for most of my life. My dog sadly passed away after fifteen great years of happiness! I watch my friend's dogs when they go out of town because I'm usually always reliable and do most of my work inside my home. I am not lazy with taking dogs on walks and I care for pets like they are my own :) I am a stay at home mom to a 2 year old so I am always home to care for your loved one. We have a fenced backyard and lots of areas to walk. I can be flexible about what your pet needs. If you would prefer them in a crate at night I’d be happy to do that but usually I love having your pets roam around my townhouse and our fenced yard!

About: I’ve been working with animals professionally since 2019, starting with dog walking before expanding into dog running, dog sitting, and general pet care. During the pandemic, I joined a “Run My Dog” program where I ran with high-energy dogs to help keep them physically and mentally stimulated when many pets weren’t getting enough activity. Since then, I’ve cared for dogs with all kinds of personalities, routines, and needs through both short-term and extended pet sitting. I also have years of personal experience from owning four large pit bulls of my own, including senior dogs and dogs with allergies, anxiety, reactivity, and strong personalities. I have reliable transportation, a safe two-story home with a fully fenced backyard, and I’m home most of the day, which allows me to give pets lots of supervision, attention, and companionship. Pet care fits really naturally into my daily routine because I’m home most of the day right now after graduating nursing school. Besides working short evening shifts on Thursdays and Saturdays, I spend most of my time at home, so I’m able to give pets a lot of attention, supervision, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and cuddles throughout the day. I actually enjoy having pets around because I love the routine and companionship they bring. Whether that means morning walks, sticking to feeding or medication schedules, spending time outside in the fenced backyard, or just hanging out on the couch with them, I make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. Since I’ve owned large dogs myself for years, caring for animals has always been part of my everyday life and comes very naturally to me. About: Hello I'm a fellow dog owner. My Charlie is a 30 pound sheltie mix and gets along with everyone. He's super friendly so he'll get along with your dog. I work from home two days out of the week and I'm available on weekends for doggy daycare where they'll play in the backyard, get walks, I'll make sure they eat, and get enough water. I can do over night any day of the week as well. The days I work from home are Tuesdays and Fridays. If you have questions please feel free to ask. I'm very accommodating but obviously I do have concerns. I have two crates and two beds on my own they can used so you don't have to bring your own.

About: I have cared for my pup Java at all stages of life, from his energetic puppy phase (which brought our house many gifts of dead squirrels or chickens) to his current slow moving (and less critter hunting) old age. I love walking dogs and will even take them on my runs if they’re the active type. Whatever type of activity that suits them I can do - from backyard playtime to a run through a park! I am a student off for the summer with no other job… I have endless free time and definitely need something to keep me busy!! I will care for your pet the way that you as the owner prefer. While my dog can go off-leash in grassy areas I understand that not all are the same and will follow the instructions you give! I do not have a fenced in yard but can take your pup to a nearby dog park if they’re off-leash time is what they like!

About: Hi, I'm Rachel! I grew up in Alexandria, Virginia but recently moved back after living in the UK for 5 years! While moving back, I did bring my 4 year old Basset Hound/Labrador mix - Bruce - with me! I grew up around dogs, and have never been without one. Personally, I wouldn't know a life without a dog or a cat. Life is too quiet. This is why I began to dally in pet care, because I know just how important a pet is, and they deserve company, care, love and play at all times. I currently work part-time at a small store, but am also using my free time to write my first book!
