About: I owned a dog for most of my life. My dog sadly passed away after fifteen great years of happiness! I watch my friend's dogs when they go out of town because I'm usually always reliable and do most of my work inside my home. I am not lazy with taking dogs on walks and I care for pets like they are my own :) I am a stay at home mom to a 2 year old so I am always home to care for your loved one. We have a fenced backyard and lots of areas to walk. I can be flexible about what your pet needs. If you would prefer them in a crate at night I’d be happy to do that but usually I love having your pets roam around my townhouse and our fenced yard!
“Awesome experience! Jason and Jeremy were wonderful and gave us piece of mind that our dog was having a great time as opposed to being locked up in a kennel all day. Thank you!”

“Hats off to Michael & Erin for a job well done. Mochi loves to hang out at their house and he actually cried when I drove off the other day💕 If you are looking for a loving, laid back approach on doggy daycare you won’t be disappointed!! Communication is great, they send pics and updates! BOOK THEM🫶🏼”

“My pup had a great time at Russ's house! She came back super tired from playing with the other dogs. Russ sent me several updates throughout the day, which I really loved. Drop off and pick up was super easy- I will be using Russ again!”

“You guys were a life saver, I must admit I was a bit nervous as this was a first time using Rover. But Natalie and Bryce made me at ease for the moment we met. Now let’s get into Dutch :) we had a time getting in the truck as he was still trying to follow you guys!!! That tells me he really enjoyed the care you provided. Thank you thank you soooo much!! We would definitely use you guys again!!!!!!!”

“Abigail was wonderful. I needed a sitter at the last minute for super early in the morning and late in the evening. She rearranged her schedule so she could help me. When I dropped my dog off she was very kind and I felt comfortable leaving. When I picked up my dog, I could tell she did a good job because my dog is normally very shy and gets depressed when I am away. When I picked my dog up, although extremely happy to see us, she still went by Abigail.”

About: I’ve been working with animals professionally since 2019, starting with dog walking before expanding into dog running, dog sitting, and general pet care. During the pandemic, I joined a “Run My Dog” program where I ran with high-energy dogs to help keep them physically and mentally stimulated when many pets weren’t getting enough activity. Since then, I’ve cared for dogs with all kinds of personalities, routines, and needs through both short-term and extended pet sitting. I also have years of personal experience from owning four large pit bulls of my own, including senior dogs and dogs with allergies, anxiety, reactivity, and strong personalities. Caring for them taught me how important patience, consistency, and trust are when working with animals. I have reliable transportation, a safe two-story home with a fully fenced backyard, and I’m home most of the day, which allows me to give pets lots of supervision, attention, and companionship. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and try to make every pet feel comfortable, relaxed, and cared for while they’re with me. Pet care fits really naturally into my daily routine because I’m home most of the day right now after graduating nursing school. Besides working short evening shifts on Thursdays and Saturdays, I spend most of my time at home, so I’m able to give pets a lot of attention, supervision, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and cuddles throughout the day. I actually enjoy having pets around because I love the routine and companionship they bring. Whether that means morning walks, sticking to feeding or medication schedules, spending time outside in the fenced backyard, or just hanging out on the couch with them, I make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. Since I’ve owned large dogs myself for years, caring for animals has always been part of my everyday life and comes very naturally to me. Safety and trust are extremely important to me when caring for someone’s pet. I know pets are family, and I always do my best to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re with me. I have experience with reactive dogs, escape artists, dogs with allergies, and large breeds, so I’m very attentive to different behaviors and needs. My home has a fully fenced backyard, I’m home most of the day for supervision, and I’m dog CPR certified. I also have quick access to emergency veterinary care nearby, including EmmaVet urgent care just minutes away, and a Regional 24 hour ER 15 minutes away. My goal is always to create a calm, safe, and caring environment where both pets and owners feel comfortable and at ease.
About: I have had animals in my care my entire life, including dogs, cats, rabbits, turtles, and birds. Caring for animals is something that comes naturally to me because I truly love them and treat them as part of the family. All the pets I’ve cared for have been happy, well-loved, and safe. I am patient, attentive, and responsible, and I understand that every animal has its own personality and needs. Whether it’s playtime, walks, feeding routines, or simply giving them affection and comfort, I always make sure they feel secure and cared for. Your pet will be treated with kindness, respect, and lots of love. I maintain a flexible and organized schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time and attention to each pet in my care. Pet care is a priority in my daily routine, ensuring consistency with feeding times, walks, exercise, and rest. I am reliable, punctual, and committed to following each pet’s specific routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. I provide a safe, calm, and structured environment for every pet. I am located near a large field and a park, which allows me to offer regular walks, outdoor exercise, and stimulating activities in a safe setting. I carefully follow all owner instructions regarding feeding schedules, medications (if needed), and special care requirements. I am attentive to pets’ behavior and always prioritize their safety and well-being during walks and playtime.
About: Hi! My name is Anna. I’m so excited to share my experience and the special moments I create with the pets I care for, so I’d love to introduce myself and help you get to know me better 💕 I’ve been caring for pets my entire life, growing up with both dogs and cats. I have two girls, Rosie and Misa. They are very sweet and friendly dogs who are used to making new friends all the time. I work from home full time, which allows me to spend lots of quality time with pets, by going for walks, giving cuddles and treats, playing indoors and outdoors, and making sure they feel happy, comfortable, and loved! I’m proud to be a pet sitter and provide a safe, clean, and comfortable home for your beloved pets. My home has a large, fenced, and secure backyard where your pet can safely play, explore, and enjoy their time outside. It makes me happy to see pets feel relaxed and happy in my care. I send photos and videos regularly throughout the day, and I always keep open, friendly communication during the stay because I understand, how important it is for pet parents to feel comfortable and know how their pets are doing. I look forward to meeting you and your beloved pet! Thank you for being here 🌈✨ Love, Anna I work from home full time, available every day, including weekends and holidays. My home has a large, clean, fenced, and secure backyard where pets can safely run, play, and relax in the sun I’m always outside with them to supervise, keep them company, and make sure they’re happy and comfortable For all my new friends: I would love to schedule a meet and greet before the boarding stay, so we can go over your pet’s routine and care, and make sure everyone feels comfortable. I also require up to date vaccination records for each pet prior to the meet and greet Pet safety and health is an important part of being a pet sitter: I regularly check doors & windows, clean food & water bowls daily, mop the floors, and vacuum the couch..etc. I follow all instructions provided by the pet parent, including feeding your pet according to their schedule & dietary needs, as well as any medication instructions you provide. I always maintain open and responsible communication with pet parents while your baby is staying at my place My main priority is to make sure your pet is happy, healthy, and comfortable I spend as much time as needed giving them attention, love, and lots of cuddles during their stay, because pets deserve the best life!
“Garrett, Ana and their children were wonderful with Piper. They treated Piper like a member of their family. I would definitely recommend and call on them again.”

About: I have extensive experience with large and giant breed dogs as both a current and longtime pet owner. My background includes caring for my own dogs, regularly watching my friends' pets, and gaining hands-on experience working in a veterinary hospital during college. This combination of personal and professional involvement has equipped me with a deep understanding of canine care, behavior, and health, especially for larger breeds. I currently work from home three days a week, but also can be flexible if necessary and booked in advance. Living in an apartment, I take lots of dog walks during the day so my put gets both enriching sniffing and exercise-focused walks. I live in an apartment surrounds by six acres of green space and walking paths which makes for the perfect walk. I also live near the Dyke Marsh Wildlife Reserve which I take my pup Maggie to a few times a week.
“Brian and Andrew took great care of our girl! Our pup was a little nervous being in a new place, but Brian and Andrew were so patient and she quickly felt right at home! They sent lots of photos and updates. Their pup Naomi is so sweet and playful. We picked up a very happy girl! Our dog Twyla is excited for her next visit!”

About: Hello I'm a fellow dog owner. My Charlie is a 30 pound sheltie mix and gets along with everyone. He's super friendly so he'll get along with your dog. I work from home two days out of the week and I'm available on weekends for doggy daycare where they'll play in the backyard, get walks, I'll make sure they eat, and get enough water. I can do over night any day of the week as well. The days I work from home are Tuesdays and Fridays. If you have questions please feel free to ask. I'm very accommodating but obviously I do have concerns. I have two crates and two beds on my own they can used so you don't have to bring your own.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
