“My dog had an amazing time and I am so appreciative that he was able to accommodate my last minute booking. Absolutely loved the photos and videos, and the fast communication. Will definitely book again!”

About: I owned a dog for most of my life. My dog sadly passed away after fifteen great years of happiness! I watch my friend's dogs when they go out of town because I'm usually always reliable and do most of my work inside my home. I am not lazy with taking dogs on walks and I care for pets like they are my own :) I am a stay at home mom to a 2 year old so I am always home to care for your loved one. We have a fenced backyard and lots of areas to walk. I can be flexible about what your pet needs. If you would prefer them in a crate at night I’d be happy to do that but usually I love having your pets roam around my townhouse and our fenced yard!
“Last minute booking as we are from out of town. Jenny was great with communicating before and during the sitting. Dogs came home happy and tired (which is what we needed)!”

About: Hi! I grew up with family dogs. I always love caring for them and taking them on long walks. I rescued my dog Reagan. She is a 10 year old medium-sized friendly high-energy dog that would love a housemate to spend time and play with. I live in a house with a dog door and a fenced in yard. I am also able to take the dogs out on frequent walks easily. I also have a lot of green space near my place, to include the Mount Vernon Trail and Jones Point Park. When boarding, I will primarily be home with the dogs. Boarding pick-ups after 3pm will incur a daycare fee of $30. I can't wait to meet and spend time with your pup! I work from home full time and have flexibility with my daytime work schedule if the dog needs frequent walks or play through the day. Dogs are allowed on my furniture and have really all the freedom to roam as they please. I also have a dog door so they can go outside as they like. But I can also easily let them out and monitor them if they do not care for a dog door.
“Matthew hosts an excellent environment for any dog. The environment is clean, Matthew pays attention to the care of the animals, and communicates very well the activity of your pet. Highly recommended!”

“Lucy had a fun day with Russ and the two resident dogs. She loved being outside in the yard. Russ was easy to work with and very accommodating even when I had unexpected delays. Lucy can’t wait to come back!”

“Our dog's stay with Katie was great! I really appreciated how she took the time to get to know his quirks and habits, and he was very well taken care of. You can tell that she genuinely cares about animals. I would definitely recommend her.”

About: I have had animals in my care my entire life, including dogs, cats, rabbits, turtles, and birds. Caring for animals is something that comes naturally to me because I truly love them and treat them as part of the family. All the pets I’ve cared for have been happy, well-loved, and safe. I am patient, attentive, and responsible, and I understand that every animal has its own personality and needs. Whether it’s playtime, walks, feeding routines, or simply giving them affection and comfort, I always make sure they feel secure and cared for. Your pet will be treated with kindness, respect, and lots of love. I maintain a flexible and organized schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time and attention to each pet in my care. Pet care is a priority in my daily routine, ensuring consistency with feeding times, walks, exercise, and rest. I am reliable, punctual, and committed to following each pet’s specific routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. I provide a safe, calm, and structured environment for every pet. I am located near a large field and a park, which allows me to offer regular walks, outdoor exercise, and stimulating activities in a safe setting. I carefully follow all owner instructions regarding feeding schedules, medications (if needed), and special care requirements. I am attentive to pets’ behavior and always prioritize their safety and well-being during walks and playtime.
“Laia was Riley’s first sitter through Rover. He was very anxious when he arrived at her house but she was so patient with him. She kept me updated sharing that he was settling in (and sent a photo) and by the end of his visit she said he had been great.”

About: Hello I'm a fellow dog owner. My Charlie is a 30 pound sheltie mix and gets along with everyone. He's super friendly so he'll get along with your dog. I work from home two days out of the week and I'm available on weekends for doggy daycare where they'll play in the backyard, get walks, I'll make sure they eat, and get enough water. I can do over night any day of the week as well. The days I work from home are Tuesdays and Fridays. If you have questions please feel free to ask. I'm very accommodating but obviously I do have concerns. I have two crates and two beds on my own they can used so you don't have to bring your own.

About: I have taken care of a variety of animals throughout my life. I showed farm animals in my youth and always had plenty of dogs at home. I love the puppy and young adult stage in dogs, and have a major soft spot for the old timers. I currently have a two beagles and we spend lots of time playing and walking outside. I work a full time job, but work from home often. Depending on the week, I can be available for some combination of evening, lunch, and morning check ins/walks. Sundays are available as well for similar services. I am a big believer in the letter of the law when it comes to caring for a pet in your home or on a walk. I want to be able to deliver maximum peace of mind for you and your pooch. If you have any concerns about anxiety, let me know and I can make sure that we are on the same page about ways to combat it.
About: I am full-time working from home now, so since I’ve got some extra time I would love to take care of your dog! We have a dog, cat, and 1 year old baby here but would love to have someone else over to play. We have a large fenced in back yard, perfect for running around or relaxing in the sun. I would also love to pick your dog up and take it on a walk. I am available all day at home. We love dogs, have relied on Rover sitters a lot, and would love to help you out! Please let me know if you would like to come for a meet and greet! Our lives have revolved around our pets for many years. Taking care of them is the first thing we do when we wake up and they are top of mind all day long. Our dog enjoys spending a lot of time outside, but if your dog wants to shadow me that’s great too! I am happy to accommodate any care requirements

My senior pup had such a great daycare day with Emmanuel, he came home tired, happy, and completely content. Emmanuel even sent me photos throughout the day, which I really appreciated. We’re now looking forward to the upcoming longer stay and feel very comfortable knowing he’ll be in good hands. Highly recommended!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Woodland Park commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
