About: I’ve been around animals my entire life, especially cats and dogs. I grew up in a home with multiple pets, so caring for them has always been second nature to me. I’ve owned both cats and dogs since childhood and have experience with all kinds of personalities, from playful and energetic to shy, senior, and everything in between. I’ve also fostered several cats, helping them transition from rescue situations into safe, loving temporary homes until they were adopted. Fostering gave me hands-on experience with anxious or timid cats, slow introductions, building trust, and creating a calm, stress-free environment. I’m very comfortable with feeding routines, enrichment, litter box care, medication reminders (non-injection), and understanding feline body language. In addition to personal ownership and fostering, I’ve completed many pet-sitting and house-sitting jobs, including several where I assisted my girlfriend in caring for multiple cats and dogs at once. I’ve worked with high-energy dogs who need long walks, older dogs who need a slower pace, and cats who simply want playtime, quiet company, or gentle attention. I also care for a group of pets on a recurring schedule, building trust and long-term relationships with their families. No matter the pet’s personality, energetic, shy, cuddly, or independent, I adapt to their needs. I genuinely love animals and treat every pet as if they were my own, always prioritizing patience, gentleness, safety, and clear communication. And as a professional photographer, you can expect great photo updates of your pets while you’re away. My goal is to make your pets feel safe, comfortable, and well-loved every moment you’re gone. I have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time to caring for pets. I work as a musician and professional photographer, so my hours aren’t tied to a traditional 9–5 job. Most of my work is project-based, meaning I can easily adjust my day around pet-sitting visits, walks, and house-sitting needs. Because of this flexibility, I’m able to give pets attention throughout the day, whether that means morning walks, mid-day check-ins, feeding schedules, or long play sessions. I’m also home often when editing photos or working on music, which makes me a great fit for pets who enjoy company and a calm, steady presence. My routine is perfect for dogs and cats who need frequent interaction, scheduled feeding times, or just someone who can be there reliably throughout the day. Your pet’s needs can easily fit into my daily flow, and I’m always happy to adjust my schedule around what works best for them. When caring for pets, either in their home or just walking them, my top priorities are always safety, consistency, and trust. In Your Home: I follow your routines exactly to keep your pets feeling secure and comfortable. That includes their feeding schedule, walk times, preferred toys, and any house rules you’ve established. I make sure doors are locked, gates are secured, and that your pet never has access to anything unsafe or stressful. I always respect your home as if it were my own, which is clean, organized, and exactly how you left it. Keeping Pets Safe: I take extra care with leashes, harnesses, and doorways to prevent escapes or scares. I also pay attention to your pet’s body language and comfort level, especially with shy or anxious pets. I never introduce pets to new animals, environments, or people unless you request it. Clean, Calm Environment: I maintain a calm, relaxed atmosphere when I’m with your pets, especially important for cats, seniors, and nervous animals. I keep litter boxes clean, water bowls fresh, and make sure your pet has their favorite spots available and stress-free. For dogs, I make walks safe and enjoyable, always avoiding risky areas or unfamiliar dogs. Communication & Transparency: I send regular updates, photos, and videos so you know exactly how your pet is doing. As a professional photographer, you’ll get high-quality pictures that give you peace of mind and a clear look at your pet’s day. Respect for Your Home: If I’m house-sitting, I keep everything tidy, follow your instructions closely, and make sure your home is secure. Lights, blinds, doors, and alarms are all handled according to your preferences. No matter the situation, I treat every pet with gentleness and patience and treat every home with the utmost respect. My goal is for you to feel completely confident that your pet is safe, loved, and well cared for in your absence.

Review for Ian D. I can't recommend Ian D highly enough! My two dogs have their quirks—especially my Staffy, who tends to be a bit wary of men. Ian was aware of this and took the time to ease into the situation, which I found incredibly impressive. Now, Izzy is a huge fan! He was consistently on time and provided them with wonderful walks every day. It's clear he genuinely cares for the dogs and understands their needs. His responsible approach and great personality make him an outstanding choice for any dog owner. If you're looking for a reliable and caring dog walker, sitter look no further!

About: I always lived in a house with dogs or cats. I’ve taken care of dogs large and small. I worked as a volunteer with therapy horses in middle school as a sidewalker and groomer. Additionally have taken care of chickens and rats from a young age. I am often times pet sitting a special needs (blind) greyhound. I currently am working a part time jobs where I build my own schedule. I am a dance teacher who leaves early in the morning for morning classes and then am usually free in the afternoons for the rest of the day. I am often able to add extra tasks in my day with this flexibility. I treat other people’s space with respect. Will clean up any mess/debris right away. I will keep your fur baby company and can provide much enrichment and love.

Brittani has been walking my dog Denim this past week, and I honestly couldn’t be happier. Returning to the office has been a huge adjustment for both me and Denim since she struggles with separation anxiety, but Brittani has been so patient, kind, communicative, and reliable throughout the transition. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs she works with, and that peace of mind means everything to me. Really grateful we found her, and Denim is too 🐾

About: I currently have a 2 1/2 year old pug named Alfie. Love going for walks and playing with pups. Have spare time that I can dedicate to giving pets the attention and exercise that they need and deserve. Very attentive and enjoy being outside and living an active lifestyle. But if a dog doesn’t like activity as much I also enjoy cuddling and giving belly rubs inside the house as well. If you’re looking for someone to love your pet and care for them the way you personally would I am the right person for your dog walking or overnight stay needs. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have about your pet! Weekends are the best availability for me. I do have some availability in the mornings to check on animals and go for walks as well. I am willing to visit the pets home to care for them if they are more comfortable staying in their own space. Pets are also welcome in my home if they are good with another dog and comfortable being somewhere new.

About: I am full-time working from home now, so since I’ve got some extra time I would love to take care of your dog! We have a dog, cat, and 1 year old baby here but would love to have someone else over to play. We have a large fenced in back yard, perfect for running around or relaxing in the sun. I would also love to pick your dog up and take it on a walk. I am available all day at home. We love dogs, have relied on Rover sitters a lot, and would love to help you out! Please let me know if you would like to come for a meet and greet! Our lives have revolved around our pets for many years. Taking care of them is the first thing we do when we wake up and they are top of mind all day long. Our dog enjoys spending a lot of time outside, but if your dog wants to shadow me that’s great too! I am happy to accommodate any care requirements

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was a teenager. I had a Poodle for 17 years and know he is resting in peace. Since last year, I have been walking with a Vizsla, super friendly and jealous of his ball. I love animals, and I feel better when I'm with them. When I'm taking care of them, they are taking care of me too. I'm currently working part-time in retail, so my schedule is super flexible during weekends and business days. Considering that, I would love to have time with your puppy, take care of them and keep them safe. Most of my experience has been taking care of puppies in their homes, so they do not feel weird in a new place. Letting them into a place that they already know helps them feel more comfortable. But I'm open to having them at my apartment too. I live close to amazing parks to walk them.

  • 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
