Pet care experience

Home all day. 16+ years of dog care

Your dog gets a walker or caregiver who's actually home all day. I work from home, so I can walk, feed, medicate, or just hang out with your pup on a real schedule — midday walks, split visits for puppies or seniors, last-minute coverage when your day blows up. You'll get photos and a quick note after every visit. I've owned dogs for 16+ years and spent 5+ years fostering and volunteering with rescues. I'm comfortable reading body language, handling leash-reactive or nervous dogs, and giving oral and injectable meds. My philosophy: dogs need structure and deserve to be spoiled rotten — those go hand in hand. What you can expect - Reliable communication: fast replies, updates after every visit, a heads-up if anything seems off - Your rules, your routine: I'll follow your cues, commands, and feeding schedule rather than impose mine - Medication handled: oral, topical, and injectable - Calm handling for dogs who pull, bark at other dogs, or spook easily - Free meet-and-greet first, so your dog (and you) can decide I'm the right fit Why I'm confident with dogs of all temperaments - Each of my own dogs has needed something completely different: - Roxy, a pit bull who was reactive to other dogs when I adopted her. I went through a year of intensive training with a professional trainer, with weekly homework, and she became a calm, confident walker. If your dog needs a wide berth from other dogs, I know how to give it. - Rusty, a high-energy terrier who needed hours of hiking and play to settle, and who later developed a kidney condition. I went through 12 weeks of puppy school and homework with him, and I gave him daily medication for years, including fluids at home. Sick or senior dogs don't intimidate me. - Murphy, my current ~20 lb chihuahua, who arrived terrified of everything. Months of slow, patient exposure work — literally one more step out the front door each day — turned him into the happy, confident dog he is now. I went through 12 weeks of puppy school and homework with him and know how to instill the basic commands in a dog. Timid dogs get all the time they need with me. If you choose me, your dog gets the same love and care mine do. Whatever keeps that tail wagging.

Emily agreed to take Carter at short notice. He was a bit frazzled after a night of loud noises and distractions. She took him for walks and let him chill out. He returned a very happy and more relaxed dog.

A typical day

We love a calm morning walk to the water until we've gotten all the fresh morning sniffs in. When we get home, we'll cool off with some homemade organic frozen treats, then get in a good mid-day nap. After stretches and scratches and more snoozes on the patio, we'll head back out for some more fresh air and an evening stroll. Then it's back home for dinner and full investigation of the toy bin :)
