“Kate was an absolutely wonderful host to my 2.5 year old golden retriever. Throughout the weekend I received many written and picture updates, which were so very appreciated. I returned to pick my dog up and found her very happy, very well taken care of, and very tired from a weekend playing at the beach! I highly recommend Kate!”

About: In 2025 I decided to go full time and start my own pet care business. I am fully bonded & insured! I love all animals but the anxious ones are really where I shine. I will meet your pet where they’re at. I’m Canine + Feline CPR & first aid certified, I have previous experience from working in a grooming salon (not a groomer though!) and am serious about continuing education— I’ve pursued additional certifications as well as a dog training apprenticeship and continue to do so. Additionally, I run an in-home daycare for small dogs. I have an employee who helps me with this and is trained to the same standards. Please reach out with any questions. Since making the full-time pivot to pet care, my schedule now has the flexibility fit around the needs of your pets. For walks, our walk doesn't officially "START" until your dogs paws hit the pavement! Your dog gets the full 30 minutes with no corners cut. This is true for all of my services. I will care for them like they are my own dogs— their safety is my top priority, and I know how difficult the transition can be for pups when their parents are gone and will do everything in my power to make that easier for them.
“Sean and Dakota were amazing! They took amazing care of our boy, Otis. We got regular updates, pictures and videos. We couldn’t be happier and knowing Otis was so well taken care of and having an absolute blast gave us peace of mind.”

“Christina was an amazing sitter for our dog! He’s not the easiest pup when around strangers, but they got along well and warmed up nicely to her and her home. She kept us updated daily on how they were doing which we loved. I would definitely recommend her services and will be booking again!”

“Karina was great! She provided an accommodating and inviting atmosphere for my dog. She was in constant communication and made sure Dottie felt comfortable. It was my first experience doing this and I honestly felt at ease. Thank you Karina, will definitely reach out next time I'm going away.”

“Dawn took care of my puppy for a week while I was out of state. She gave me twice daily updates with tons of pictures to show all of the fun and growth. He also received a lot of very well needed supervised socialization with other dogs that Dawn cares for, as well as her own dog. Snickers came home a much more obedient and well rounded dog. I truly appreciate all of the special care and love given to Snickers. I highly recommend Dawn!”

I have experience in dog watching my family's and friend's dogs and I want to gain more experience. I know what it's like to have a busy and hectic schedule and would love to help you by caring for your pet. I live near trails and like to spend walking them. Your dog will be in responsible hands until you return. I enjoy spending time with puppies as well as senior citizen dogs and every age in between. Please let me know how I can best serve your pet. I work on the road and make my own schedule so I can come visit your pet as often as needed! I love the flexibility in my schedule so that I can have multiple passions I have a cat at home but she is very friendly. I also live in Red Bank so can go for walks around town with your dog!
“Our first time using Rover for our babies Sophie and Ash, and Jacqueline and her family are just the perfect sitter for a first timer! She accommodated my babies so well and took care of them like her own. And she is prepared for any accidents your dog may have in her house!! My Sophie had an accident in her house and she informed me right away and she was prepared!!! She updated me with photos and videos of how our dogs are doing, and I can say they are both so happy and comfortable in their care!!! I DEFINITELY recommend Jacqueline to anyone looking for a sitter that will love and care for your dog like her own!!!!”

“Erica showed a lot of care about my dog. She sent several pictures and a video throughout the day that made me feel more confident about Lolli having a good time there. Lolli seemed to be taking his time to get back in my car which showed me she wasn’t in a rush to leave Erica’s place. I already booked our second stay!”

“Chunwei took very good care of Papaya. She and her family treated her like their own family, and Papaya also had good time with their dog. I appreciate the care and love, and we can feel relieved when we’re on vacation.”

“Rick was beyond the most amazing host. From the moment Riley met him at the meet & greet, I knew my baby would be in good hands. He sent pictures often and updated me on their shenanigans. Can't recommend him more.”

About: I recently moved to Kennsington / Windsor Terrace and am looking for a dog to walk in the area to familiarize myself with the neighborhood, get exercise, and extra cash. I also do cat care and check-ins for travelers. I could potentially host the right animal in my apartment. More specifically, I am seeking short-term in-house pet care for October 22 - November 4th when my mother visits town. If this fits your description, please reach out! With my schedule I am available for mid day walks between noon and 4pm, perfect for when you’re in the office worried sick about your pets at home. I use my best judgment and respect the privacy of your personal information and honor your pets, belongings and space. I am always a phone call and a text away to address concerns or changes.
“My dog is always stoked after hanging at Yiqi's. I'm so grateful we are able to book with her and be confident that he's getting the exercise and socializing a large dog needs. He always comes home with great energy which is super encouraging for me! Thanks always Yiqi!”

“Carrie was great. She was patient with my dog who can be a bit nervous at times. Sometimes my dog will not eat while I am gone, but she will eat cooked eggs. Carrie was kind enough to cook for my dog so that she wouldn't starve herself. I've given Carrie 5 stars, but for some reason it won't register it. I highly recommend Carrie for your pet.”
“We are repeat customers, and my cat loves staying with Lina! I would definitely recommend her services. She always goes above and beyond in her care, and I can feel comfortable and at peace leaving my cat with her, knowing that he will be well. I always know he will be in great hands with her. She is easy to work with, incredibly attentive, very communicative, responsible, and flexible (which relieves a lot of the stress of traveling, making plans, and having to leave a pet). Lina is a fantastic caregiver!”

Steven and Meredith took wonderful care of our kitten, Oreo, while we were away. They were responsive, thoughtful, and kept us updated with photos and videos, which gave us great peace of mind. It was clear Oreo was in caring hands. We would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them!

Kathy did a wonderful job taking care of Ruby! Ruby had a great time with her! I appreciated her updates letting me know that Ruby was happy and that they were both having a good time. Kathy is always quick to respond. I recommend her 100% and will be using her again!

Rachel took such amazing care of Bluey! He can be a little anxious when he’s away from us, and she was so patient, gentle, and attentive with him. She really treated him like one of her own and even let him sleep with them so he could feel comfortable and safe. She kept me updated throughout his stay and I felt so much better knowing he was in such caring hands. I would absolutely trust her with Bluey again and highly recommend her! 🐾❤️

Sarah is a godsend. We had out-of-town guests coming for a visit and our plans were solidified; our usual sitter had an unexpected engagement, leaving us scrambling to find someone to watch our rescue beagle, Sherlock. Our poor pup had a very rough start and has severe separation anxiety, and since we summer in our condo in Highlands, he cannot be left alone, or he will howl incessantly with his unnerving high shriek of terror (poor boy). We searched on Rover for days, and then we found Sarah. She responded quickly to our inquiry. Yay! Now, I’ve been a customer on Rover for years (with our previous beagle), and Sarah had to be the utmost diligent. She requested proof of shots, she provided a detailed questionnaire for us to fill out before meeting Sherlock and we had a lengthy phone conversation about his needs/habits/schedule, etc. Thorough indeed, which I wholeheartedly appreciate because my pet is one of my favorite family members! Once at Sarah’s house, she was kind, loving, provided Sherlock with toys, a safe space to relax, and sent several updates and photos. She followed my instructions for feeding and bathroom/walking outings. We felt sooooo at ease that we could actually peacefully enjoy time with our guests. I am already planning our next extended outing, due to the diligence, care, professionalism and security Sarah provided. And, unlike some other sitters we’ve experienced, she promptly responds and is a clear communicator. Do not hesitate to leave your beloved pet with Sarah.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
