“Vlad was simply awesome. He was in touch daily while we were away on vacation to give us frequent updates on Cookie’s walks, diet, and behavior. He was very attentive and caring. Vlad was very much a professional. We would definitely recommend Vlad to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

“This was the first time since my boys were born in 2018 that they were dogsat by anyone else other than family and it was perfect. Bonnie and her family were fantastic. They kept my boys comfortable while I was away for a week and kept in constant touch to give updates and adorable photos so I could see how they were doing throughout the day. 100% would rebook in the future. Thanks Bonnie and Yee!”

“It was so nice leaving my dogs in William's care as he clearly loves dogs and enjoys taking care of them. They were well-cared for and William communicated well as to any questions or concerns and clarified any points about how I would like for them to be cared for. I will definitely be hiring William again in the future.”

“What a relief to find Vincent who was able to board our German Shepherd mix while we went away for almost a week. He sent us updates and we were happy our pet wasn’t alone. He was safe and got along with their beautiful lab mix-Scarlett. Thank you Vincent!”

“We left our 75 pound lap dog for 9 days and I think he had more fun than we did. He had lots of fun playing with other dogs and looking out their front window. Received pictures every day reassuring us he was being well taken care of. Meg and her family took great care of Rocco. I would definitely use them again if I could get another family vacation!”

“Michael is a wonderful surrogate father to our Rosie. He took such excellent care of her and really enjoyed her company. We feel very confident leaving our baby in his care.”

“Susie was great with our Candy during boarding. You can tell she is warm and loving towards animals and takes their well-being seriously. I would recommend Susie to take care of your dog! Very accommodating and flexible. She took candy’s details to get familiar with Candy. She kept us updated and informed how Candy was keeping up. I recommend Suzy to anyone who is looking for dog boarding”

“Karen is fantastic! She is personable, attentive, flexible, and so welcoming! My dog had a very engaging and active 5 day stay with Karen and her two pups and other guests! Bo came home exhausted from all the fun he had! I knew Karen’s place would be the perfect vacation home for Bo on my first visit when she took detailed notes about his behavior and his care. I was so pleased with the thorough and friendly updates with pictures of Bo each day! We will certainly be using Karen again!”

“Fist time boarding my 15 year old toy poodle with Michael and Danielle. He loved it. They provided a warm and loving environment for this old guy. They have a beautiful home and great yard for playtime. A great experience all around.”

“Five stars for Jane! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I left my beloved pug, Lord Ginsberg, in Jane’s care while I traveled to Mexico, and I truly could not have asked for a better experience. Lord Ginsberg is not your average dog. He has his own routines, preferences, quirks, and very strong opinions about comfort. Jane understood all of that immediately. Her patience was absolutely legendary, and she took the time to learn his specific needs and little eccentricities without ever making me feel like I was asking too much. What meant so much to me was how communicative she was throughout my trip. She regularly sent adorable photos and videos of Ginsberg, which gave me tremendous peace of mind while I was away. Every update made it clear that he was happy, comfortable, and being genuinely cared for. Jane is not only responsible and attentive, she’s also warm, funny, and incredibly understanding. The best compliment I can give is that I could tell she truly enjoyed Lord Ginsberg’s company. She wasn’t just watching him, she was spending time with him and appreciating his unique little personality. She even came to understand his profound and unwavering love of cheese, which any true friend of Ginsberg quickly learns is a very important part of his worldview. When I came home, I found a happy, relaxed, well-cared-for pug, and that’s every pet parent’s dream. I can’t thank Jane enough for the care, kindness, humor, patience, and attention she showed him. Anytime I travel in the future, I will be hoping Jane is available to take care of Lord Ginsberg again. She has my highest recommendation.”

“My guardian angels! We were worried leaving our fur babies while we left for our wedding. One of them is sick with heart failure. The amount of love and care that they received put us at ease so e could enjoy our wedding. The pictures messages and videos were great..thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding possible and taking care of our babies.”

“My 4 dogs had the best time with Dhruvit and his family over the long weekend. Our dogs have never been away from us so finding a great dog lover/sitter was not easy. When I saw all the reviews for Dhruvit I knew I found a match for Spencer, Nathan, Winston and Cooper. Dhruvit sent pictures everyday and that just made our time away more enjoyable as we didn’t have to worry. We will definitely use Dhruvit in the future. It’s all about fur babies and if they are happy then we are happy. Thank You again.”

“Alison was THE BEST with our dog Graham. This was our first time leaving him in someone else’s care and I’m glad Alison was the one to care for him. Frequent updates throughout the stay via texts and pictures, responded promptly to messages and very professional! Graham really enjoyed his stay and I would definitely book with Alison again🤗”

“What a great experience! Leaving our pup while on vacation was so much easier because this is the best pet sitting home. We had consistent communication, received tons of pictures and know she was happy for the weekend. The hosts were super accommodating when we had issues with our drop off and pick up times. She even came home with extra toys. So thankful for finding them! Will definitely be booking again!”

“Pam was absolutely amazing! Our eve was so happy to be there and didn’t want to leave! Definitely will use again! Sent pictures and updates and gave us peace of mind when we were away!”

“Gurdeep was so easy to communicate. She provided regular updates during stay. Ben came happy from her. Would definitely recommend Gurdeep and will rebook for future needs. Thank you Gurdeep.”

“Lineth did an amazing job taking care of our cat! She kept us updated with plenty of pictures, and it was clear our cat felt so comfortable and happy with her. Lineth was so thoughtful and attentive that we never had to worry while we were away. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

Thank you Maria for taking so good care of Sunny . You have been amazing , caring, kind and very gentle. Sunny usually comes exhausted whenever he is out with dog sitter, for the first time I saw him very happy and playful after coming home from your house. I can’t thank you enough for taking such good care and being so patient and caring. Next time if I have to drop him to a baby sitter, there is no second thought. Appreciate your help
Karina took great care of Jax while we were away! She has a clean, welcoming home with fenced front and back yards, and she kept me updated with lots of pictures and messages throughout his stay. She’s also a genuinely kind and wonderful person, which made me feel completely comfortable leaving Jax in her care. He looked so happy and well cared for with her. I would definitely book with Karina again and highly recommend her!

This was Charlie's first time boarding at Jing's place. He had a great stay! Jing and her husband Mike gave us updates everyday and video/pictures of Charlie. Great communication the whole time. He enjoyed playing with her dog Jade and attention, love from her daughter. I know he was in great hands while we were away.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
