About: I’ve loved animals since I was a child, so working with animals, even if it’s just the simple things like; going on walks, making sure they’re fed, clean, playing with them, making sure they’re safe and loved. Overall I’m a super sweet person. Animals have a special place in my heart. Anyone who knows me knows, I’m always trying to find some pet to give lovings to. I’ve been dog walking and pet sitting since I was a little kid. It’s just so much fun to me. Since I’m really shy, I am the person you will find petting the dogs while there’s a party going on. I currently have no pets but, this is my job, it's not too consistent but I absolutely love animals and taking care of them. I've been doing Rover since 2019 and I would love to make this full time I want your fur babies to feel as comfy and happy as possible at all times. Play time and outside time is an absolute must!

Vanessa, thank you so, so much for taking great care of our pup. This was our first long time away from him and we’re as happy to see him as he is to see us. Thanks for all the great communication along the way.

We left our cherished Pitt Boxer, Zeke, in Erin's able care for five days, including overnite stays. We were so pleased with how they immediatley took to each other and knew that we had nothing to worry about as the family travelled to the West Coast. Erin was very responsible, looked after our home as requested, communicated frequently, sent pictures, and took great care of our boy. Erin is a delightful person, and Zeke has a new BFF. We highly recommend her.

About: I've cared for dogs almost all of my life. As a latchkey kid, my first job was to care for my two sweet dogs when I got home. I'm skilled in caring for senior dogs who need extra patience and love. ❤️ I'm available in the mornings to early afternoons. I work part-time in the evenings most nights. I am as flexible as my job schedule allows me to be! Sending photo and video updates are my favorite, so you can always see your pets! I currently live in a pet free household with a fenced in yard. Kamryn was a fantastic sitter- she was so communicative and shared plenty of updates and pictures of our two fluffy babies while we were traveling. I can’t say enough how grateful I am that she stayed with the pets continuously during the day, so that they had someone present the vast majority of the time we were away.

About: Hi! I’m Ella, and caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life. I currently work at a small business pet food and grooming store, where I spend my days with dogs and assisting pet owners with their pets’ needs. Being around animals every day has taught me how important patience, attention, and love are when it comes to providing great care. I also have two dogs of my own, so I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care. In addition to caring for my own dogs, I’ve regularly walked and looked after dogs for friends and family, giving me experience with pets of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. Whether your dog needs a fun walk, playtime, or just someone to keep them company while you’re away, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry best friend! I’m currently working part-time so I have a flexible schedule and will always do my best to accommodate your pet’s routine. Whether your pet needs morning, afternoon, or evening visits, I’ll provide reliable, on time care and keep you updated throughout each visit! I provide all pet care in my clients’ homes, where your pet is most comfortable and can stick to their normal routine. I’ll carefully follow all feeding, walking, medication, and care instructions while making sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for. I’ll also treat your home with the utmost respect by keeping it clean, secure, and exactly as you left it. You’ll receive regular updates and photos so you can enjoy peace of mind while you’re away.

My wife and I just had Jennifer stay with our dog for the very first time …. it was perfect! Wylie and Jennifer got along great! Jennifer made him feel loved and comfortable. Wylie has a strong attachment to my wife, but Jennifer won him over. While the Rover website is great and easy to work with, Jennifer walked us through the process, explained what she could do and made us feel good about leaving Wylie in the hands of a complete stranger (a stranger no more). We were equally impressed with how well Jennifer treated our home. We were gone overnight and Jennifer stayed with Wylie in our home. There is no question that I very highly recommend Jennifer to anyone who is the least bit nervous about having a pet-sitter. We plan on using her every chance we get!

Kit stayed at our house for 3 nights to watch out two dogs and one cat and we couldn’t be happier with his services. We did a brief meet-and-greet a few days before and I felt very comfortable because Kit has a really kind way about him, which the dogs and cat immediately responded positively to. I knew they would be in great hands! Over the days leading up to and during the pet sitting, Kit was communicative, proactive, reliable, responsive, responsible, and mature. I got lots of great pictures to know they were happy. Kit has a lot of experience taking care of dogs and cats and was comfortable taking on all tasks of feeding, walking, etc., and kept their routine on track. He asked good questions when he was unsure about anything and even dealt calmly with a temporary power outage situation. Kit always had in mind the best interest of our animals and the house and we felt very assured in his capable hands. As a bonus, Kit was very prompt, tidy, and took great care of the house. He even took out the garbage, which was above and beyond and much appreciated! We will definitely reach out to Kit for future pet sitting needs.

About: I’ve been professionally dog walking and taking care of pets for about a year now, but I’ve been around animals my whole life. I honestly just really enjoy being around them and getting to know all their different personalities. I have experience with dogs, cats, and even small pets like rats. I do walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, overnight stays, and just making sure your pets are happy and comfortable while you’re away. I’m comfortable with pets of all sizes and energy levels, whether they want to run around and play or just hang out and relax. I treat every pet like they’re my own and always try to make visits fun, calm, and stress-free for them. I know how important it is to trust the person taking care of your pets, so I always try to be reliable, communicative, and make sure both you and your pets feel comfortable. Pet care is already a regular part of my daily routine. I currently do dog walks, drop-in visits, and overnight care throughout the week, and I’ve also cared for my own pets my whole life. I’m used to planning my schedule around pets and making sure they get the attention, exercise, and care they need. I genuinely enjoy it, and spending time with animals fits naturally into my routine. I currently provide care in my clients’ homes and try to keep pets as comfortable and relaxed as possible by following their normal routine. I always follow the instructions owners provide, including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, playtime, and any specific care instructions or preferences their pets have. I know every pet is different, so I try to pay attention to their personality and comfort level while making sure they feel safe, cared for, and comfortable while their owners are away.

FAQs for House Sitting - Hazlet

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Hazlet on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 17,215 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hazlet. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hazlet walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hazlet maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hazlet choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hazlet. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
