About: I’m on Rover to help you out with any / all your pets needs while you’re away! I work full time as a behaviorist in a public school. I don’t dog train, but I am familiar with any techniques that you may need for your pup! I have 3 dogs and 3 cats of my own. I have experience with all breeds! All mutts and senior pups are welcome. I also have experience administering medication to dogs. All dogs of breeds and age deserve attention and love. I’d love it if you let me love your pets as if they are my own too! Thank you for reading this. I am able to work with the families in terms of what they need. My calendar may not always reflect accurately as my times with my full-time job (human) clients do fluctuate. If it is blocked off it means I am 100% unavailable. I don’t recommend myself in terms of full-on puppy training and 24/7 puppy care due to my schedule but I am versed in the training techniques due to my career. I am available weekends for extra care and staying in your home full time. My pets are well loved and taken care of while I care for others. I will never be able to host in my home, so please consider this! I offer in home care, overnight, daily walks, and check ins. Animals will not be hosted in my home due to a senior dog I have who is on medication. For those reasons, home sitting is only available in terms of long care. I have done walks, trips to stores, parks, yard play, and car trips with fur babies for daily drop ins, walks, or overnight stays!
“We left our cherished Pitt Boxer, Zeke, in Erin's able care for five days, including overnite stays. We were so pleased with how they immediatley took to each other and knew that we had nothing to worry about as the family travelled to the West Coast. Erin was very responsible, looked after our home as requested, communicated frequently, sent pictures, and took great care of our boy. Erin is a delightful person, and Zeke has a new BFF. We highly recommend her.”

“Nikki was amazing! She took such good care of our pets. We have two Irish setters and two elderly cats. She loved them like they were hers and kept me informed the entire time with photos. I felt very comfortable and she also took such good care of our home, including helping watering our outdoor plants and taking out/in garbage. I highly recommend her!”

“We had a wonderful experience! Samantha took such great care of Ori while we were away overnight. She made sure he got multiple walks each day, stayed on schedule with all of his eye drops, and kept us updated with plenty of photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. We highly recommend her and would absolutely book with her again!”

“Vanessa, thank you so, so much for taking great care of our pup. This was our first long time away from him and we’re as happy to see him as he is to see us. Thanks for all the great communication along the way.”

“Kamryn was great! Arya went crazy and was so excited when she arrived. She fed her and kept me updated through the night. Highly recommend and will be booking with her again!!”

About: I've been an animal lover my whole life and treat every pet as if they were my own. I had the time of my life with my sweet girl, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge last year. She filled my life with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories, and caring for her was one of the greatest privileges of my life. As a special education teacher, I'm patient, dependable, and attentive to each pet's unique personality and needs. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, or relaxing with company, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. I'll follow their routine closely and keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing they're in caring hands. 🐾❤️ Pet care fits very well into my routine, especially since I’m currently off for the summer. This gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, and quality time with pets. During the school year, I have a structured schedule as a special education teacher, which still allows me to be available in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and on weekends. I’m organized and reliable, and I make sure each pet gets consistent care, attention, and time without feeling rushed. I care for every pet like they’re my own and always focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. In a client’s home, I stick closely to your pet’s normal routine so they feel secure in their familiar environment. I pay close attention to details like feeding instructions, walks, medications, and any special needs. Safety is always my top priority, I make sure doors are secure, pets are properly leashed outside, and they’re never left unattended during visits. I also treat your home with respect and care, leaving everything clean and just as I found it. My goal is to build trust through reliability, communication, and genuine love for animals so you can feel completely at ease while you’re away. 🐾
“Kit stayed at our house for 3 nights to watch out two dogs and one cat and we couldn’t be happier with his services. We did a brief meet-and-greet a few days before and I felt very comfortable because Kit has a really kind way about him, which the dogs and cat immediately responded positively to. I knew they would be in great hands! Over the days leading up to and during the pet sitting, Kit was communicative, proactive, reliable, responsive, responsible, and mature. I got lots of great pictures to know they were happy. Kit has a lot of experience taking care of dogs and cats and was comfortable taking on all tasks of feeding, walking, etc., and kept their routine on track. He asked good questions when he was unsure about anything and even dealt calmly with a temporary power outage situation. Kit always had in mind the best interest of our animals and the house and we felt very assured in his capable hands. As a bonus, Kit was very prompt, tidy, and took great care of the house. He even took out the garbage, which was above and beyond and much appreciated! We will definitely reach out to Kit for future pet sitting needs.”

About: I am a retired elementary school principal and a life-long dog owner. Spending my days and nights in the company of dogs is a labor of love. I know how stressful it is to leave one's dog in the care of others, and I strive to provide my guests with the level of care and attention that I hope my dogs would be provided in my absence. My home is 100% dog friendly. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and have dog-door unlimited access to a fenced in back yard and deck area. I am pleased to host dogs Up to 40 lbs.. This requirement may be waived for exceptionlly gentle larger dogs. Guest dogs must get along well with other dogs. I have a chihuahua and cannot host aggressive dogs. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

“Kelsey was great with our Goldendoodle! This was our first time using Rover and she came to meet Brodie the week before we went away. While we were away, she kept us updated with photos and took great care of him for two nights. We would book with her again and highly recommend to anyone looking.”

About: I’ve always had 3+ pets at a time in my household growing up, always a combination of dogs and cats. I’m comfortable with small and large dogs! I have experience feeding, walking, giving some medicines and playing with all pets. I have experience with aging pets, including senior cats and diabetic dogs requiring insulin. I’m currently working full-time in person, but my boyfriend does work fully remote from our apartment. We are happy to host your pet if they need attention during the day! I’m also available to come by any time after work or on the weekends. I always ensure the environment is safe, nothing that could be harmful is in reach of the pets. I live in an apartment with an elevator and a great area to walk around.

“Angelica was so attentive to Max, our 13 week Cavapoo. I got lots of photos and video throughout the weekend. He was so happy playing and snuggling with Angelica and didn’t have any accidents on the rugs. I would recommend Angelica without reservation. She left the house tidier than it was before the weekend!”

About: I’ve been professionally dog walking and taking care of pets for about a year now, but I’ve been around animals my whole life. I honestly just really enjoy being around them and getting to know all their different personalities. I have experience with dogs, cats, and even small pets like rats. I do walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, overnight stays, and just making sure your pets are happy and comfortable while you’re away. I’m comfortable with pets of all sizes and energy levels, whether they want to run around and play or just hang out and relax. I treat every pet like they’re my own and always try to make visits fun, calm, and stress-free for them. I know how important it is to trust the person taking care of your pets, so I always try to be reliable, communicative, and make sure both you and your pets feel comfortable. Pet care is already a regular part of my daily routine. I currently do dog walks, drop-in visits, and overnight care throughout the week, and I’ve also cared for my own pets my whole life. I’m used to planning my schedule around pets and making sure they get the attention, exercise, and care they need. I genuinely enjoy it, and spending time with animals fits naturally into my routine. I currently provide care in my clients’ homes and try to keep pets as comfortable and relaxed as possible by following their normal routine. I always follow the instructions owners provide, including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, playtime, and any specific care instructions or preferences their pets have. I know every pet is different, so I try to pay attention to their personality and comfort level while making sure they feel safe, cared for, and comfortable while their owners are away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Port Monmouth
We had a wonderful experience! Samantha took such great care of Ori while we were away overnight. She made sure he got multiple walks each day, stayed on schedule with all of his eye drops, and kept us updated with plenty of photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. We highly recommend her and would absolutely book with her again!

Bethany and Jason were absolutely wonderful and took such thoughtful care of our Woody while we were away for a week. They communicated clearly and consistently, and very quickly picked up on our boy’s sensitivities and quirks, which made us feel so at ease knowing he was in such attentive hands. Despite the frigid cold during their stay, they made sure Woody was bundled up in his doggy puffer and still got plenty of exercise and fresh air. It was clear they genuinely cared about his comfort and well-being. We can already tell Woody has formed a strong bond with them, and that means everything to us. We’re so happy to continue working with Bethany and Jason for weekly walks and future stays, and would recommend them wholeheartedly.

Kit is a fantastic pet sitter! This was our second experience with Kit and this time we went away for almost 2 weeks leaving two dogs and a special needs cat. We felt totally comfortable leaving our pets with Kit because we got daily updates and excellent communication. Kit is also a great house guest and left our home perfect.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Port Monmouth walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Port Monmouth maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Port Monmouth choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Port Monmouth. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
