About: Hello fellow animal lovers my name is Nikki. I am a self employed children's chess instructor who has spent years managing programs and caring for children and animals. I bring a high level of professionalism, responsibility, and attention to every pet I care for. I understand that leaving your pet with someone else is a big decision. My goal is to make that process as easy as possible for both you and your beloved pet. I am highly attentive to each pets individual needs, whether that means maintaining a structured routine or providing extra reassurance. Spoiling your pet is guaranteed. I don't take a one size fits all approach. Each pet receives individual care based on their personality, energy level, and routine. They deserve it! With me you will receive: *Clear and consistent communication from start to finish. *Multiple updates with photos and videos so you always know how your sweetheart is doing. *Respect for your home, your time, and your pets needs. I am obsessive about keeping your home clean and staying only in the areas designated for your pets care. *Someone who will love and care for your pet as much as you do. *A sweet 9 year old playmate named Reina who is up to date on all vaccinations. Will also be groomed before any sit. I have grown up with cats and dogs my entire life. My love of other peoples pets prompted them to begin to ask me to start dog and cat-sitting. People who are very wary of strangers in their homes have trusted me and were able to take a much needed vacation. I am so happy to be able to fufill this role. Please read the testimonials for more details about the individual pets I have cared for over the years. I am new to Rover, however I have been doing this for a very long time. I only take a limited amount of clients so can can provide the high level of care and attention your pet deserves. If you are looking for a trusted, dependable sitter I am confident you will be happy with the care I provide. Please contact me if you would like to schedule a meet and greet. I have a very flexible schedule (afternoons and evenings are ideal) Since I do not work a 9-5 I am confident we can arrange the time you need sitting. I am only a drop in and stay over sitter. I will leave your home exactly as it was and spoil your dog or cat. You will receive updates via text, email, facetime. Just let me know what your need!

About: Hello! I worked at Dogs on The Farms Pet Hotel for almost a year and since leaving continued pet sitting and enjoying being around fur babies! I also used to volunteer at my local animal shelter as a foster parent until I failed and adopted my dog! I am currently a student and only working part time due to my schedule. I am always around and accept most dog sitting and walking gigs I get! I do not bring dogs into my own home due to my own fur baby. I have slept and transported dogs to other house and have been provided with a key. When sleeping at other houses I obey there rules and put blankets in the wash and leave the place as clean as when they left it!

About: I'm a lifelong dog lover with plenty of experience caring for family pets and neighbors' dogs, often stepping in as a trusted pet sitter when they’re away. Over the years, I’ve learned how to handle different breeds and temperaments with patience and care, always making sure each dog feels comfortable and safe in my home. I also have a well-trained dog of my own, who’s friendly and well-behaved, however, when I watch other dogs, they’ll have the house to themselves on occasion, (as he frequently spends time visiting his grandma!), giving them space to relax without the stress of interacting with a new animal. My goal is always to provide a calm, loving environment where your dog feels right at home. I’m currently working freelance and have the flexibility to watch your pet as needed during the week and weekend. With advanced notice, I am able to provide boarding/overnight services. My home offers a clean, open floor plan with plenty of space for your dog to relax and explore comfortably. There’s an enclosed outdoor patio for fresh air and sun, along with two large dog beds topped with clean sheets to help your pup feel right at home. I also provide natural treats as a little extra touch to keep them happy and satisfied. When your pet is staying with me, they’ll be my top priority. I’m committed to giving them my full attention, care, and affection during their visit.

About: I’ve always had 3+ pets at a time in my household growing up, always a combination of dogs and cats. I’m comfortable with small and large dogs! I have experience feeding, walking, giving some medicines and playing with all pets. I have experience with aging pets, including senior cats and diabetic dogs requiring insulin. I’m currently working full-time in person, but my boyfriend does work fully remote from our apartment. We are happy to host your pet if they need attention during the day! I’m also available to come by any time after work or on the weekends. I always ensure the environment is safe, nothing that could be harmful is in reach of the pets. I live in an apartment with an elevator and a great area to walk around.

About: With over six years of hands-on pet care experience, I’ve worked for three pet sitting companies, the MCSPCA, and at the same kennel twice. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, and countless other animals—big and small—with love, patience, and reliability. Growing up surrounded by animals shaped my deep passion for their well-being, and I’m committed to treating every pet like family. 💞🐾 Pet care fits easily into my weekly routine, as I currently work part-time and have a flexible schedule. That means I have plenty of time and energy to dedicate to your pet. I'm available for dog walking and drop-in visits during the week and weekends, and I’m happy to help with holiday or last-minute bookings. Spending time with animals is something I genuinely love, so this never feels like “work” to me—it’s something I look forward to every day!! :) I grew up with dogs and have been surrounded by animals for most of my life, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet. While I don’t offer in-home boarding, I treat every animal in my care as if they were my own. I always follow instructions carefully, prioritize safety, and strive to make every visit calm, fun, and stress-free. Whether it’s a big, energetic pup or a shy senior cat, I have experience with pets of all shapes, sizes, and personalities ♥︎

Danielle is the Best! I had to scramble to replace a sitter who dropped out right before I was set to leave for 2 weeks and going forward Danielle will certainly be my first choice to watch my guy Frankie. I have a large (100 Lb.) older dog with some mobility issues and Danielle had no problem with his walks as well as his feeding and medication schedule and made sure to keep him company while I was gone. She also sent regular updates and pictures and was quick to respond to any messages. Cannot recommend enough!

About: I have experience training and caring for dogs and cats. I Specialize in dogs with hearing issues/ deafness. Both of my dogs are graduates of multiple behavioral and obedience classes resulting in our therapy certifications. We visit a multitude of schools, hospitals and other wellness centers. All volunteer work done by my companions and myself is strictly a passion and non profit. I was inspired by a visitation to my grandfather by a golden retriever, when my grandfather was in the hospital for open heart surgery. Seeing my grandfathers reaction to a dog visitation while he was in the hospital was a monumental moment for me that further inspired my passion and drive to work with dogs. I currently work early mornings for a government agency as an officer which gives me a lot of available free time at off times of the day and week. Making me readily available to care for your pets . A fenced yard is a must. My dogs are trained and raised to be curious and outgoing, thus a fence is needed. Although my dogs don’t need a leash, I find it’s necessary to generally have a leash attached. I allow my dogs to be curious, and put there noses where many wouldn’t generally allow. It’s important to always cover your stove switches/ burners with dog safety devices!. But ultimately I strongly believe in allowing your dogs and pets to be curious and open to learning. Dogs and cats alike are much smarter then most realize, and I believe this is there first time living as well.. and deserve the best experiences life has to offer!

Kit stayed at our house for 3 nights to watch out two dogs and one cat and we couldn’t be happier with his services. We did a brief meet-and-greet a few days before and I felt very comfortable because Kit has a really kind way about him, which the dogs and cat immediately responded positively to. I knew they would be in great hands! Over the days leading up to and during the pet sitting, Kit was communicative, proactive, reliable, responsive, responsible, and mature. I got lots of great pictures to know they were happy. Kit has a lot of experience taking care of dogs and cats and was comfortable taking on all tasks of feeding, walking, etc., and kept their routine on track. He asked good questions when he was unsure about anything and even dealt calmly with a temporary power outage situation. Kit always had in mind the best interest of our animals and the house and we felt very assured in his capable hands. As a bonus, Kit was very prompt, tidy, and took great care of the house. He even took out the garbage, which was above and beyond and much appreciated! We will definitely reach out to Kit for future pet sitting needs.

About: I've been an animal lover my whole life and treat every pet as if they were my own. I had the time of my life with my sweet girl, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge last year. She filled my life with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories, and caring for her was one of the greatest privileges of my life. As a special education teacher, I'm patient, dependable, and attentive to each pet's unique personality and needs. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, or relaxing with company, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. I'll follow their routine closely and keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing they're in caring hands. 🐾❤️ Pet care fits very well into my routine, especially since I’m currently off for the summer. This gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, and quality time with pets. During the school year, I have a structured schedule as a special education teacher, which still allows me to be available in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and on weekends. I’m organized and reliable, and I make sure each pet gets consistent care, attention, and time without feeling rushed. I care for every pet like they’re my own and always focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. In a client’s home, I stick closely to your pet’s normal routine so they feel secure in their familiar environment. I pay close attention to details like feeding instructions, walks, medications, and any special needs. Safety is always my top priority, I make sure doors are secure, pets are properly leashed outside, and they’re never left unattended during visits. I also treat your home with respect and care, leaving everything clean and just as I found it. My goal is to build trust through reliability, communication, and genuine love for animals so you can feel completely at ease while you’re away. 🐾

Ny husband and i left our 8 month puppy for the first time on a week vacation. We were very nervous and reluctant as this was the first time using rover and leaving our pup. We came across Carina who did a meet and greet with us and was very impresswd. Carina agreed to house/dog sit for 5 nights and did an amazing job! She was very caring loving and took Cooper on walks to nearby parks. We really felt comfortable with her caring for Cooper. We will definetly be using Carina again and highly reccomend her!

Bethany and Jason were absolutely wonderful and took such thoughtful care of our Woody while we were away for a week. They communicated clearly and consistently, and very quickly picked up on our boy’s sensitivities and quirks, which made us feel so at ease knowing he was in such attentive hands. Despite the frigid cold during their stay, they made sure Woody was bundled up in his doggy puffer and still got plenty of exercise and fresh air. It was clear they genuinely cared about his comfort and well-being. We can already tell Woody has formed a strong bond with them, and that means everything to us. We’re so happy to continue working with Bethany and Jason for weekly walks and future stays, and would recommend them wholeheartedly.

Marcie was very professional and attentive to details we set up for her in-house stay with our two dogs over the holidays. She graciously met with us twice before the stay to meet us & the pups, and to go over the details. We were very happy with the care she gave to our dogs, and made us feel comfortable and confident things would be under control while we were out of town. She sent us pix, which helped ease our missing of the dogs, and she gave us little tidbits about their day. We would highly recommend Marcie for any of your Rover needs, and we hope she will return again for our next getaway!

FAQs for House Sitting - Leonardo

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Leonardo on Rover is $98.24 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 17,898 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Leonardo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Leonardo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Leonardo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Leonardo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Leonardo. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
