“Kirbie is now a member of Yvette’s family! We have had multiple booking with her and are completely comfortable leaving Kirbie in her care. We can’t ask for more!”

“Kevin was great with our Aussiedoodle Kruk. Kruk is 1 years old and very high puppy energy. He kept him busy walked him 3 times a day and took amazing care of him. When we went to pick him up he was happy as can be like we never left! Couldn’t ask for more. We got daily pictures and food updates. I will definitely be using Kevin in the future.”

“Easy 6 out of 5. Jaimie is an excellent sitter, she made sure my pup was happy, active, and comfortable... what more can you ask for with your best fuzzy buddy. I would easily recommend Jaimie to anyone looking for the "right choice" of sitter. She is someone who clearly knows what she's doing, and is very accommodating with people's schedules. She's awesome.”

“Deena was great with our Molly! It was our first time using Rover so we were a little nervous, but we were reassured with the daily updates and pictures. And I know Molly enjoyed playing with Deena's dog as well. Would definitely use Deena again!”

“Harley was fantastic! She totally accommodated my 10 year old Labrador, who’s not the easiest to care for. She really loved him and did her best to make him feel at home and comfortable. She was very communicative about everything and sent lots of photos. Her house was clean and large enough for a 100lb lab. Her yard is big and fenced in. We will def be rebooking her! Thanks Leny 🫶🏼”

“Kathy was a great sitter. It can certainly be nerve-racking leaving your pup with a stranger, but Kathy was very caring and made sure Neko (my dog) had a great time. She sent daily detailed updates which gave great peace of mind and assurance that everything was going great!”
“Susana was a Godsend for me. She was able to watch my dog over the Christmas holiday. I don't know what I would have done without her. Her home is just perfect for accommodating a large dog and the house was spotless. Her natural love for dogs was event in our meet and greet and my dog was overly thrilled to return to her home. I was a little nervous having someone watch my Gustav, but she put me at ease, sent pictures and played fetch with my dog. She also walked him and took him to the dog park. Without a doubt, I will be using Susana again in the future. I am so glad that I found her. She is also very conveniently off the GSP, which was another plus. Thank you again, Susana, for all you do.”

“Bonnie and her family are amazing! Sesame is an anxious baby, but everyone in her family gave him so much love and hugs that he immediately settled in. Bonnie shared many photos with me throughout his stay so I could see how he was doing. She was also very communicative, especially about his meals, since he’s a picky eater who’s not very good about finishing his food. She and her family really went above and beyond to care for him! I would totally stay with her again!!!”

“Mohita was fabulous right from the meet and greet. She made sure My dog was totally comfortable at her place and that included the lovely dog coco. It was so great to see pictures and videos of my dog having fun on his own little vacation at her place. She took great care and was very supportive throughout my dogs stay. So glad to have found Mohita. 💕”

About: I've had pets in my home all my life and have always helped care for them. Including: dogs, rabbits, rats, lizards, and fish. Dogs have always been my favorite animal and I love caring for them by walking them in interesting places or feeding them, even sleeping with them! I finally got a dog of my own at 15 and for the past several years have walked her weekly. Now I have 2 and have learned to manage them both while walking simultaneously. I try to go on light hiking trails or to parks, switching up the location every time. I am currently free most weekends. On Fridays, I'm free after 2 PM typically, but occasionally my girlfriend will be free, in which case she can take dogs in Friday morning for boarding. Just ask and I'll let you know when I'm available on a particular Friday. In my home, my dogs are well-fed with a healthy diet of kibble twice a day, eggs in the morning, and chicken strips at night. They each get baths once every few weeks. We also always prefer they are never alone for more than a few hours at a time. If we leave even for one night, we make sure we have someone visit them every few hours for feeding and letting out. Otherwise, we make sure they feel as loved as possible with lots of petting and sitting together!
“This is the second time I’ve left my cat (DJ) in Evgenii’s care and I’m very pleased. He does a great job looking after my baby and sends lots of updates and photos. When I went to pick DJ up he was walking around like he owned the place! I’ll definitely use Evgenii again.”

“Nan was absolutely amazing. This was my first time ever leaving my dog, who is very anxious without me, and she went above and beyond to make me feel completely comfortable. She sent so many pictures and videos, which truly put my mind at ease. Nan was so loving, patient, and caring, and it was clear my dog felt safe and happy with her. Thanks to Nan, I finally feel like I can enjoy work or personal trips without constant worry. I can’t wait to use her again and would recommend her without hesitation.”

“Grace is terrific wirh our dogs. They love being wirh her. She definitely spoils them and takes great care of them. She is very responsive. We are grateful we found her through Rover.”

“Jane was so lovely and her dog Fancy is so cute! Our puppers needed a one night boarding while we were at a wedding. Jane took great care of him and sent so many photos, videos, and updates throughout the night and the next morning. She asked great questions if she was unsure of things. I loved the communication and flexibility Jane provided. Our dog was so happy when we came back to pick him up which let us know he had a great time at Jane’s! Would definitely recommend as a sitter!”

Grateful for Kayla and her family taking great care of Miles and for last minute booking. Received frequent updates. Very flexible with drop off and pick up. Looks like Miles had a great company and lots of playtime. Would like to book again next time Miles needs a home away from home. Thank you very much!

Karina took great care of Jax while we were away! She has a clean, welcoming home with fenced front and back yards, and she kept me updated with lots of pictures and messages throughout his stay. She’s also a genuinely kind and wonderful person, which made me feel completely comfortable leaving Jax in her care. He looked so happy and well cared for with her. I would definitely book with Karina again and highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
