“Erick was absolutely amazing with my two dogs! I have a fairly lazy dog, and a very high energy lab who just over a year old and she can be a handful! Erick sent me pictures and videos regularly, assuring me that my babies were fine. The resident dogs were super friendly, even snuggling with my two. When I picked them up they seemed like they had made themselves right at home. Erick is fabulous and wonderful people to work with! We will definitely be back.”

“Five stars for Jane! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I left my beloved pug, Lord Ginsberg, in Jane’s care while I traveled to Mexico, and I truly could not have asked for a better experience. Lord Ginsberg is not your average dog. He has his own routines, preferences, quirks, and very strong opinions about comfort. Jane understood all of that immediately. Her patience was absolutely legendary, and she took the time to learn his specific needs and little eccentricities without ever making me feel like I was asking too much. What meant so much to me was how communicative she was throughout my trip. She regularly sent adorable photos and videos of Ginsberg, which gave me tremendous peace of mind while I was away. Every update made it clear that he was happy, comfortable, and being genuinely cared for. Jane is not only responsible and attentive, she’s also warm, funny, and incredibly understanding. The best compliment I can give is that I could tell she truly enjoyed Lord Ginsberg’s company. She wasn’t just watching him, she was spending time with him and appreciating his unique little personality. She even came to understand his profound and unwavering love of cheese, which any true friend of Ginsberg quickly learns is a very important part of his worldview. When I came home, I found a happy, relaxed, well-cared-for pug, and that’s every pet parent’s dream. I can’t thank Jane enough for the care, kindness, humor, patience, and attention she showed him. Anytime I travel in the future, I will be hoping Jane is available to take care of Lord Ginsberg again. She has my highest recommendation.”

“Julie was wonderful. She made me feel comfortable from the moment I met her. She took such great care of our pup Charlie. She took her on daily walks and she had plenty of play time and rest time. She send pics and videos daily and kept me updated on how everything was going. Her dog Millie was the sweetest, our dogs became best buds.”

“I recommend Lina so much. It was pretty easy to communicate with her, and she tried her best to find ways to work out certain things. My dog looks totally fine after I want to pick him up. Although a little sad because he probably misses her 😂. She always updated me with photos and videos of my dog everyday! 5 stars definitely recommend for others.”

“Erica was amazing with my pup! She sent regular pictures and videos throughout his stay, which gave me so much peace of mind and truly brightened my day. It was clear from the updates that he was having a great time and was in such loving hands. I’m so grateful for the care and attention they gave—highly recommend and would absolutely book again!”

“Nirvana did an excellent job taking care of our dog Milo. Always texting and sending pictures to assure me he was doing well. She was very patient and understanding of how I felt leaving him for 11 days.”

“Patricia and her son are amazing dog sitters. My 4-month old beagle Toni was happier than I’ve ever seen her. Patricia updated me and sent me pictures throughout my entire time away. I was able to enjoy my trip because I knew Toni was in good hands. I would definitely recommend her and will continue using her services in the future. Thank you so much!”

“Rick was great with our dog, Leo! He had an overnight stay and by the time we got him back the next day he was exhausted cause of all the fun he had running around on the farm! Rick was great with providing updates, I highly recommend!”

“Carrie was great. She was patient with my dog who can be a bit nervous at times. Sometimes my dog will not eat while I am gone, but she will eat cooked eggs. Carrie was kind enough to cook for my dog so that she wouldn't starve herself. I've given Carrie 5 stars, but for some reason it won't register it. I highly recommend Carrie for your pet.”

“Meghan and Rob were absolutely wonderful. I had never left my Maverick with anyone outside the family and from the meet and greet through the entire stay I felt comfortable and like my dog would be well taken care of even with his history of being reactive. I received pictures and videos and they even took TV request. I would highly recommend Meghan.”

“This was my first experience with Sam. When we did our meet and greet I knew my Yorkie Macy would be in good hands. After the first day of process Sam sent me photos and shared how much her children enjoyed having Macy around. Sam gave updates on how things were going which gave me a sense of relief. Sam and her family will definitely see Macy again.”

About: I’ve had a dogs my entire life. I love them all big and small. I’ve also fostered for the last 20 years. I love all dogs and have 4 of my own. I’d love to pamper your pup too! I am currently a stay at home mother and have plenty of free time to walk or help care for pets. I have mornings and afternoons free. I have 4 very spoiled rescues. We have a fenced in yard but I never leave my dogs outside alone. My dogs are not crated but I would crate a visiting pet for safety if I was not home.
“Anton and Maria took really great care of Archie. They made him feel right at home, took him on lots of walks (even off leash runs at the dog park!), played with him, and kept us updated with plenty of photos/videos and messages throughout his stay. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was so happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We could tell Archie got lots of love and attention, and we would absolutely book with them again. Big thanks to you both!!”

“Lucky and I couldn’t have been happier with the loving care he received! The daily updates and pictures were so reassuring! Samantha was good having a Bichon shadow and bedmate! Her family welcomed him with open arms!”

“Rachel was able to accommodate my last minute boarding request which was a big relief. Thank you! Everything went smoothly and she sent updates and photos throughout the day.”

“wow, what an incredible person to find. Ben was communicative, heartfelt and caring while watching Soda for six days. Soda can be quite shy when it comes to strangers, but clearly warmed up to Ben (and Colby) quickly. i have no doubts throughout my travel whether Soda was well taken care of, and i’m immensely grateful for his diligence as a caretaker. would 100% recommend to any parent!”

Lexi and Prashanth took excellent care of Cauchy (senior dog with back issues). He recovered very well in their care. I thank them for their flexibility during pickup and drop off, providing frequent updates and taking great care of Cauchy be it providing medication, taking him outside 4-5 times a day and pampering him etc. I will definitely recommend them to others and book their services in future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
