“Jamie took very good care of my senior dog Teddy in her lovely home. Teddy being older cries and whines looking for his meals or just being unhappy away from his familiar home. Jamie made extra effort to keep him comfortable and kept in touch with me through texts and photos. Than you!!”
About: I’ve had a dogs my entire life. I love them all big and small. I’ve also fostered for the last 20 years. I love all dogs and have 4 of my own. I’d love to pamper your pup too! I am currently a stay at home mother and have plenty of free time to walk or help care for pets. I have mornings and afternoons free. I have 4 very spoiled rescues. We have a fenced in yard but I never leave my dogs outside alone. My dogs are not crated but I would crate a visiting pet for safety if I was not home.
“Seriously cannot recommend Erick enough. My two pups felt right at home in his house and got along so well with his two dogs. He’s extremely reliable, quick to respond and also sends daily updates so you know your babies are doing okay. I will be booking them again for future vacations and I recommend you do the same!”

About: I have taken care of dogs for most of my adult life. My wife and I have made a point to adopt large older dogs that tend to be stuck in the shelter system. All dogs are good and deserve to live a fun filled, happy, and loved life. I am also recently pet CPR and first aid certified by The American Red Cross. Im currently working part time three nights during the week so I have plenty of free time to take care of your pups. Having recently lost our beloved Mastiff, I've been craving some pup time. I have a fully fenced in yard and have plenty of room to crate your pups. We recently lost our dog so we are pet free. Being dog people, we welcome your dogs like they were our family.
“Kathy is such an amazing dog sitter! She really cares about your pets like they are her own. From start to finish of the intro and booking process (which included me adopting a second dog, a rescue puppy), Kathy was kind, efficient and a wonderful communicator. Bernie and Willie loved spending time with Kathy and her dog Ziggy and her family. She sent updates and pics to keep me up to speed on how they were doing. It’s”

“Mary and Aaron are genuinely good people, they took wonderful care of our labradoodle Stella for a week. Mary sent me photos which made my day and just reinforced my comfort level of leaving her with someone for week. They have a wonderful, shaded big backyard that is an oasis for dogs. I highly Recommend Mary and Aaron???”
“Vincent was amazing. Very responsive and helpful. Had a meet and greet and a boarding. Puppy had a great time overnight, went on walks and was taken care of well. Provided pictures during the stay. Thanks.”

“We left our two pups with Brian for 5 days and he was very caring, thoughtful, and paid close attention to their needs. He noticed my little guy wasn’t being quite himself on day 3 and took the time to call me and discuss what was going on with him which I greatly appreciated. Our oldest one didn’t want to leave and became best buds with Brian. You can tell Brian truly cares about all of the dogs he watches and we will be using him again in the future!”

“Tina took really great care of Marley! She sent pictures and kept me informed on how he was doing while I was gone. I appreciate how she made Marley feel right at home and highly recommend Tina!”

“Our dog Mazie loves going to Ricks! She is an Aussiedoodle that needs a lot of exercise so it was important for us to find someone who would make sure she got her steps in. At Rick’s, she’s able to run the property to get out all of her energy. Rick sends us videos every day to share how Mazie is doing. We feel confident knowing mazie is in good hands when we are away.”

“Sydney was very sweet and very professional. I could tell she took her dogsitting very seriously and could also tell my dog enjoyed being around her. I highly recommend Sydney.”

“Michelle and her family are awesome taking care of our beagle. Communication with her is fast and easy. We recommend her and would board our beagle with her again in the future!”

“Christen has cared for our pup Harper before but this was the first overnight in her home. She took great care of Harper, spoiling her with toys and privileges! Harper was happy after her stay and we look forward to Christen caring for her again when we are away.”

“Danielle did a remarkable job sitting Basil over the holiday weekend. Basil was very well taken care of and was sad to leave when I came to pick him up. Danielle was also incredibly flexible; she allowed us to pick up Basil at a different date / time than we previously agreed upon. I couldn’t recommend Danielle enough :)!!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for over 10 years and owned dogs for even longer! I’m familiar with puppies, senior dogs as well as larger dogs! I’m currently looking to add more to my week! I love being around dogs and going for walks. I think it’s a fun way to spend time! Only interested in walking dogs! Love going for long walks and exploring new areas. Love to play fetch with dogs and see them having the best time!

“Cristy did a great job of creating a regular routine for Flicker and keeping me updated with pictures. She worked with me on pickup and drop-off times and made sure Flicker got a good balance of fun and quiet time. Thanks, Cristy!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Little Silver
I was so fortunate to come across Julie‘s profile and she seemed like the type of person that really loves animals. This was my first time leaving my dog at someone’s house, but she made me feel so comfortable. Sending me pictures and sending me messages every day to let me know that he was doing great. She has such a beautiful home and a nice lovely backyard that he could play in so he was absolutely in heaven at her house. Julie was the best and I would recommend anybody if you’re ever apprehensive about leaving your dog with someone. No fear Julie and her home is absolutely perfect!!

Bob was fantastic with my Boston, Otis! Otis was comfortable right away and clearly happy during his stay. Bob was very kind, took and shared lots of pictures, which I loved. Otis was excited to return after the meet and greet, he was happy seeing the house and went right in. Highly recommend!”
Our experience with our dog sitter was outstanding. From the start, they were reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about our dog’s well-being. We felt completely comfortable knowing our dog was in good hands, which isn’t always easy to find. They provided updates, remained attentive to routines, and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Most importantly, our dog was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for when we returned. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and genuinely caring.

Chloe and I knew after our initial meet and greet that Chloe would feel comfortable and welcome and well cared for with Britney. It was the longest I’ve left Chloe and I really appreciated the photos and updates two times a day, especially given Britney’s Vet Tech experience. I would absolutely book with Britnay again and I highly recommend that you do too.

Kelsey looked after our pup, Otis, for a week and we highly recommend her! She sent pics and videos throughout the week and prior to Otis’s stay she had a meet n greet with him where she learned all about him and made sure there were no issues with her own pup. We had peace of mind knowing he was in good hands and will definitely be using her services in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
