“Rick was great with our dog, Leo! He had an overnight stay and by the time we got him back the next day he was exhausted cause of all the fun he had running around on the farm! Rick was great with providing updates, I highly recommend!”

“Joshua was awesome with our beagle and we will definitely reach out to Joshua when we bed to board our dog again. Joshua is very responsible to messages and easy to schedule pick up and drop off.”

“Mary and Aaron are genuinely good people, they took wonderful care of our labradoodle Stella for a week. Mary sent me photos which made my day and just reinforced my comfort level of leaving her with someone for week. They have a wonderful, shaded big backyard that is an oasis for dogs. I highly Recommend Mary and Aaron???”
“Lorrie is an amazing sitter! She takes care of our Maggie girl the same way we would and it really puts our minds at ease whenever we need care for our pup. Lorrie is an incredibly thoughtful and caring sitter, we never hesitate to reach out to her to request care for our dog.”

About: I have loved animals my whole life I grew up on a small farm with all sorts of animals. But dogs have always been my favorite. I truly believe that a dog is a mans best friend. I have been dog sitting for the past two summers for a women back in my home town. I would love to be able to take care of your dog I would treat it like it’s my own. I would care for it with love and kindness. I would also make sure that it gets to play and get exercise outdoors. Being able to watch your dog would truly brighten my day because being around dogs gives me so much joy! I am pretty available. The only days I’m not available are Wednesday and Thursday’s from 3:00pm- 10pm, and from 8:00am-3:00pm on Sunday’s. Other than that my schedule is pretty open. I will care for your pets by taking them on long walks and playing with them in your backyard if you have a fenced one.
“This was our first time leaving our husky Blaze with William, when we had to travel. It all went very well. He was taking good care of our boy. He took him for nice walks, sent us pictures every day and communicated thoroughly. And when our flight got cancelled at the last moment, and we couldn't get back home the day we planned, William was flexible to allow us to extend Blaze's stay by one more day. Definitely would recommend him 👍”

“The best dog sitter that anybody could ever have. He’s very loving to my animals. He does all extra things that I don’t ask him to do like baths. I do believe he plays with them and has a good time with them and makes them feel at home. I know if she’s watching them that they’re safe.”

“Sydney was absolutely wonderful with Luna. She consistently sent pictures and thoughtful updates, which gave me so much peace of mind. Luna looked genuinely happy and comfortable in her care. I truly can’t recommend Sydney enough!”

“Angelica is a dream host! I can't wait to book my puppy with them again as soon as possible! I got the cutest photos of all of their adventures and he came back cleaner than I sent him and tired from all the fun!”

“Cristy did a great job of creating a regular routine for Flicker and keeping me updated with pictures. She worked with me on pickup and drop-off times and made sure Flicker got a good balance of fun and quiet time. Thanks, Cristy!”

“Carly is wonderful! She babysat my dog, Fig, a few times over the summer, and he absolutely loved spending time with her and her sweet corgi, Willow. I felt completely at ease knowing Fig was in such great hands. Highly recommend!”

“Rachel is as good as it gets for boarding my pup. She went above and beyond in caring for my pup and keeping me updated on all the fun they were having! Thank you so much for your wonderful care and we hope to stay with you again in the future!”

“Kali was a great choice, she took great care of our dog( who can be challenging at times) She was a pleasure to work with. We would highly recommend her to anyone needing a sitter.”

“Tania took such good care of my boy. She went above and beyond. Archie’s a picky eater with a sensitive stomach, and he also has a coat that can be difficult to manage. For these reasons, I always prepare to do some damage control after extended stays away from home. This time it wasn’t necessary. We will definitely be repeat customers!”

“This was the first time I was apart from my dog for more than two days and the first day that I left the dog with a non relative. It was great to have someone as responsive and responsible as Vincent taking care of my dog. It is clear that Vincent loves dogs and does a great job taking care of them. When I picked my dog up it was clear he had a good week, was healthy, well fed and very happy.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Monmouth Beach
I was so fortunate to come across Julie‘s profile and she seemed like the type of person that really loves animals. This was my first time leaving my dog at someone’s house, but she made me feel so comfortable. Sending me pictures and sending me messages every day to let me know that he was doing great. She has such a beautiful home and a nice lovely backyard that he could play in so he was absolutely in heaven at her house. Julie was the best and I would recommend anybody if you’re ever apprehensive about leaving your dog with someone. No fear Julie and her home is absolutely perfect!!

Joshua was absolutely outstanding! My dog stayed with him for five days and was treated perfectly. He kept me updated throughout the stay and sent plenty of picturse, which gave me peace of mind. It was clear my dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I would not hesitate to leave my dog with Joshua again anytime. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
