“Julie was excellent, Jaxon and Lulu loved her and loved staying with her 🐾🐾🐾🐾. Thank you Julie, I am so happy to have found you and so are the pups! I feel great that we have you to take of our beloved pups!”

About: Hi there! Although I only recently activated this App , doggy care is not new to me; i have been around dogs my entire life and grew up with herding breeds. I raised my former Border Collie Zoey (see Gallery) who has since crossed the 🌈 bridge, from puppyhood to adulthood, teaching her fun commands like “take a bow” and “play dead.” My goal is to provide pets of all ages with a fun, safe, sanitized, and secure environment free from hazards - and in doing so, to provide my clients with peace of mind. *************** *************** Today, I own a 5m/o longhaired male Dachshund named Moose (he loves other dogs and has received his core vaccines; note that he is unneutered) so I have firsthand experience with the unique care long-bodied breeds require, including safe handling and back protection. I’ve cared for dogs of many sizes and temperaments, including Corgis, Labrador Retrievers, Labradoodles, and Pomeranians. *************** *************** The house is mere minutes away from the Belford Ferry, making it convenient for NYC commuters. For clients interested in doggy daycare and/or boarding services, dogs will have access to a fenced-in backyard for supervised potty and outdoor playtime, as well as an indoor gated doggy playpen on the main/living floor of the house (see Gallery), filled with plenty of enrichment activities and toys. They may also access the hardwood-floor living area just outside of the pen. Proof of core vaccines is required and your dog must be on a flea/tick preventative to keep all of our furry friends safe. Clients who wish to may also bring a crate and/or any special comforting items. Baby gates will be placed on steps as an additional safeguard. Walks can be added to these services as well. Currently i am only taking one client at a time. During the day, my Dachshund Moose will be in the playpen (I monitor for play breaks and can keep dogs separate if necessary) and at night he sleeps with us so your doggy will have the pen to himself for some beauty sleep. The playpen is also equipped with a baby monitor. *************** *************** Summary of What’s Included in Daycare & Boarding Services: - Standard/Name-Brand Kibble (clients are welcome to bring their own food) mixed with water & dog-friendly bone broth. - Chews & treats (I have an assortment of quality chews like turkey tendons, fish skins, bully sticks, etc.) - Supervised outdoor potty& playtime in fenced yard - Indoor enrichment time (frozen lick mats & puzzles) - Access to a variety of toys/ beds to sleep on in secured indoor pen - Daily picture updates sent to you for peace of mind 😊 *************** *************** Before every booking, we’ll discuss your pet’s routine, personality, exercise needs, feeding schedule, medications, and any special instructions so I can provide personalized, attentive care. My goal is to make your furry family member feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m also American Red Cross certified in Dog First Aid 🐾🐾🐾 I have a flexible schedule and will work with you to coordinate pickup/drop-off times that work. We will discuss scheduling at the initial consult. I know the basics but I will make sure to go over any special instructions, silly quirks/routines that you do to make your pup feel safe, favorite toys, etc., to ensure your fur baby feels safe and loved while in my care🐾
“Vince is amazing. He put my mind at peace with just 1 meet & greet visit. It’s like Magik returned from Hogwarts University 🪄dog edition. Can’t wait to use Vincent’s services again.”

“Jamie creates a very calm and comfortable space for our shy and sometimes timid small dog (who gets excellent care, naps, walks, and attention). We're really happy we found her and even more pleased that our dog loves her time with her.”

“Seymour loves staying with Megan and her husband and their two adorable little dogs. His second stay with them was perfect and it was like he was one of their own. They will always be my first go to whenever seymour needs a pet sitter!”
“This is our.second time with Shanice. We are so thankful to God, that we found an experienced dog sitter like Shanice. Shanice knows how to easily handle an energetic dog like mine and that's why we feel so comfortable and at ease leaving our dog Levi with her. Our dog hasn't been with other dogs for almost a year but Shanice introduced him to other dogs and he played well with other dogs on her watch, which is amazing. If you want to go on a vacation and feel at ease knowing that your dog will be well cared for then please book Shanice. I definitely recommend her. Thank you so much Shanice. :)”

“Lori was above and beyond what we could’ve hoped for our Hutch for around 9 days! She followed all feeding directions, sent updates throughout and you can tell she truly loves dogs. Our lil one can be stubborn but she took it in stride. Lori has a wonderful attitude and even let us meet her before we booked. I would recommend Lori to anyone and everyone! We’ll be using Lori in the future as well 😊”

“We had a wonderful experience! Thank you so much for taking such great care of Simba. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was happy, well looked after, and even made a new friend 😊 We really appreciated the regular updates and photos, it meant a lot to us. It’s clear how much care and attention you give to the dogs you look after. We would absolutely love for Simba to stay with you again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Our dogs stayed with Mary and Aaron for a week and we as a great experience. First of all on arriving their kids made a welcome sign with the dogs names! We received text updates and pics daily and tid bits of info that really showed they knew our dogs and interacted with them a lot! Lots of info you’d only know if you took the time to play with them and see their habits. Our dogs came home seeming happy and healthy and totally adjusted. I have no doubts were cared for and loved by them and their great family! Will definitely use them again.”

“Dawn took care of my puppy for a week while I was out of state. She gave me twice daily updates with tons of pictures to show all of the fun and growth. He also received a lot of very well needed supervised socialization with other dogs that Dawn cares for, as well as her own dog. Snickers came home a much more obedient and well rounded dog. I truly appreciate all of the special care and love given to Snickers. I highly recommend Dawn!”

About: I have taken care of dogs for most of my adult life. My wife and I have made a point to adopt large older dogs that tend to be stuck in the shelter system. All dogs are good and deserve to live a fun filled, happy, and loved life. I am also recently pet CPR and first aid certified by The American Red Cross. Im currently working part time three nights during the week so I have plenty of free time to take care of your pups. Having recently lost our beloved Mastiff, I've been craving some pup time. I have a fully fenced in yard and have plenty of room to crate your pups. We recently lost our dog so we are pet free. Being dog people, we welcome your dogs like they were our family.
“Skye was amazing. It was a pretty last minute booking but from the time we met, I felt comfortable leaving Leroy. We got regular updates and photos and he always looked happy. Any concerns we had about Leroy going on a hunger strike(normal for him when he's left behind) or not going #2 on a leash were alleviated quickly. He even apparently was friendly with other dogs which can be a challenge at times. I will not hesitate to use Skye again and am confident that we just found our regular sitter when the need arises.”

About: I’ve had a dogs my entire life. I love them all big and small. I’ve also fostered for the last 20 years. I love all dogs and have 4 of my own. I’d love to pamper your pup too! I am currently a stay at home mother and have plenty of free time to walk or help care for pets. I have mornings and afternoons free. I have 4 very spoiled rescues. We have a fenced in yard but I never leave my dogs outside alone. My dogs are not crated but I would crate a visiting pet for safety if I was not home.

“Sebastian is truly a dog whisperer. She took amazing care of my very skittish anxious dog. She is very loving and patient and gives each dog exactly what they need. She sent updates and pictures each day. I highly recommend her to take care of any dog. She has a deep understanding of dogs and how to care for them”

“Sydney was very sweet and very professional. I could tell she took her dogsitting very seriously and could also tell my dog enjoyed being around her. I highly recommend Sydney.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fair Haven
We left our super energetic 10 month old French bulldog Frankie with Ken for 3 days and 2 nights. He took great care of him and sent him home healthy and tired. We would definitely recommend him! He’s very nice and gives good updates. He seems to really loves dogs.

Julie was amazing. She gave lots of updates and provided pictures of our baby Tila while we were away from her. She even brought her to our wedding venue to have pictures taken in between our ceremony and reception. I would absolutely use her again and couldn’t recommend her enough!

Mary & Aaron are fantastic! They cared for our 2 senior dogs with love and patience while we were away. Their home is very pet friendly with a large backyard and there is 24 hour supervision and care. We received daily updates and pictures during their stay. We highly recommend booking with Mary and Aaron for your pets stay.
Our experience with our dog sitter was outstanding. From the start, they were reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about our dog’s well-being. We felt completely comfortable knowing our dog was in good hands, which isn’t always easy to find. They provided updates, remained attentive to routines, and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Most importantly, our dog was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for when we returned. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and genuinely caring.

Kelsey looked after our pup, Otis, for a week and we highly recommend her! She sent pics and videos throughout the week and prior to Otis’s stay she had a meet n greet with him where she learned all about him and made sure there were no issues with her own pup. We had peace of mind knowing he was in good hands and will definitely be using her services in the future!

Our dog Mazie loves going to Ricks! She is an Aussiedoodle that needs a lot of exercise so it was important for us to find someone who would make sure she got her steps in. At Rick’s, she’s able to run the property to get out all of her energy. Rick sends us videos every day to share how Mazie is doing. We feel confident knowing mazie is in good hands when we are away.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
