Between my husband and I, someone is always home so we can accommodate any schedule, provide lots of play time/potty breaks, and keep your pup company.

We own a large ranch so we are all together on one level. I only take sociable dogs and guests can have free run of the house. We have 2 guest rooms and a den area that can be baby-gated off if anyone needs space or downtime. I separate guests during feeding times for safety. We typically take 1-3 doggy guests at a time (depending on the dogs) for the week, so your pup will have a personalized experience and be treated like family. I have multiple guest dog beds and real beds in our guest bedrooms, but you can bring beds from home if you like. Crates are only used upon request (I have one or you can bring your own if you are currently crate training your pup). If your pup is used to being free in your house, he/she will be free here as well. We own a beautiful 1.5 acre park-like property in a quiet neighborhood that is set far back from the street on a hill and has lots of privacy. We have a fenced in area and take walks and play games often!

Please let me know their daily routine/feeding schedule. Let me know if your pup has any special needs, dietary restrictions, medical issues, or injuries so I can care for them accordingly. Also let me know where your pup normally sleeps so I can accommodate them and make them feel at home! If your dog has any triggers or fears, please let me know what to watch out for so I can make him/her feel safe and comfortable. Shot record required. Please let me know if your pup is okay with other dogs. If you are unsure, we can discuss and set up a meet and greet.

We play with toys, take long walks to explore the neighborhood and get lots of sniffs in, and provide plenty of snuggles and pets! We also have a fenced in dog play area where guests can play together and run around. We always supervise playtimes for safety.

From the moment your pup enters our home, they become one of our family members. I am a current teacher but was a dog trainer for 12 years (during my 20-30s & overlapping with my initial years of teaching high school). I have lived with dogs my entire life and am a dog lover and an expert in dog behavior. My two best friends of 25 years also work in the dog industry: one is a dog groomer/dog salon manager and the other is a professional pet sitter/former vet tech so I have a team of pet lovers by my side! My husband, 17 year old daughter, and I are all animal lovers and treat any pets staying with us as our own. We love to cuddle, play in the house and yard, and take walks :) We have one friendly 22lb dog (a mixed breed rescue) who loves company. We allow pets on our couches and beds, so we do really well with pampered pooches! As a former full time dog trainer who still occasionally takes on clients, I can also work with your dog while they are here with walking nicely on a leash or anything else you request. I also take my doggy guests for 2-3 long walks a day, so they get plenty of exercise. We have a fenced in dog play area as well!

My dogs and I are so grateful to have found Shelleen on Rover. Gorgeous yard, gorgeous home, but most importantly, an incredible family who welcomed my pups and took amazing care of them. As an added bonus, Shelleen is also an experienced canine trainer who taught my dogs how to stop pulling on their leads - something I have been trying (and failing)! to do for years. A 10/10 experience; we will 100% be back; what a relief to find reliable and loving dog care!
