“Christine took care of our three cats for the week of our wedding! She was wonderful, prompt, and made it so we didn’t have worry about little ones while we were off being present during our wedding week. Will definitely be reaching out to rebook in the future :)”

“Clair is an absolutely wonderful pet sitter! She recently watched our dog and cat while we were away, and we could not be happier with her care. She was incredibly kind, always on time, and our animals absolutely loved her. It gave us total peace of mind knowing our pets were in such great hands. We highly recommend Clair to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter!”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats since I was a child. As an adult, I rescued and trained two dogs of my own and have experience as a professional dog walker and pet sitter. I will love and care for your pets as if they were my own and I will be especially careful to follow any instructions you may have for their care. I am currently working part-time so I am free to visit with and/or walk your pups during the day. I can also check in on your cats or other small pets. I am available for midday visits and walks, and overnight pet sitting. I can also bring in packages, mail, or follow any other special instructions. I will care for your pets as if they were my own.

“We were a little uneasy using the Rover app for the first time but needed a last minute sitter for our dog and cat. Linda was amazing and exceeded expectations. She took great care of our animals, communicated with us and followed up multiple times throughout the visit. Our dog was a little timid at first but quickly warmed up to Linda and loved the attention. Thank you and we will definitely book again ❤️”

“I’m grateful to have found Summer on Rover! She is kind, compassionate, and cares for pets like they’re her own. I will definitely have Summer watch the kitties again!”

About: Hi! I’m a recently retired teacher from Pinellas County Schools and am excited to begin a new chapter caring for pets in my community. Animals have always been an important part of my life. I’ve had dogs for most of my life, and today I share my home with two wonderful cats. Living with both dogs and cats has given me an appreciation for their different personalities and needs, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with both. As a teacher, I built my career on being dependable, patient, organized, and trustworthy. Those same qualities make me a caring and reliable pet sitter. I understand that every pet has its own routine, and I will follow your instructions carefully to help them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether I’m taking your dog for a walk, stopping by for a visit, or caring for your pet in your home, I’ll provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind. I know how much our pets mean to us because mine are family too. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! As a recently retired teacher, I have a very flexible schedule and can often accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend visits. I enjoy keeping pets on their regular routines whenever possible and will work with you to provide dependable care that fits your schedule. Advance notice is always appreciated, but I will do my best to accommodate last-minute requests when I’m available. I believe pets are happiest when they can stay on their normal routine. When caring for your pet, I will follow your instructions carefully regarding feeding, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and bedtime routines. I will treat your home with respect and your pet with patience, kindness, and plenty of attention. Safety is my top priority. I’ll always make sure doors, gates, leashes, and harnesses are secure and will provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is safe and well cared for.
“Kristen went above and beyond for my Bruno! And she did it on short notice and a holiday none the less. Couldn't be more thankful for her dropping in. I will ask for her again!!”

“Debbie went above and beyond! Very reliable and a great communicator! We were confident our fur babies were in great hands when she was watching them. Even our shy cat loved her!!”

“This was my 2nd booking with Sierra and both times she has been excellent with my babies ! Appreciate her photos and detailed notes about everything. Can’t wait to book again!”

“alexandra is so siiiiick in the best way! even my most antisocial kitties love her and greet her on arrival 😳 she is always very attentive and provides great notes on her visits :) always my go to girl!”

“Jennifer did a fantastic job caring for my dog while I was out of town. From the moment we connected, she was professional, dependable, and genuinely caring. She kept me updated, made sure my dog was well cared for, and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. When I returned home, my dog was happy, healthy, and clearly comfortable with Jennifer. It’s obvious she truly loves animals and takes her responsibilities seriously. I would highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. I wouldn’t hesitate to have her watch my dog again in the future.”

“Alyssa was wonderful to work with. She followed instructions, communicated clearly and often, and really respected my home. My animals really took a liking to her, as did we! I look forward to using her services in the future.”

“I needed a last minute sitter and Elizabeth came through. My dogs looked happy when I came home and I was able to enjoy my evening knowing my dogs were well cared for. Highly recommend.”

About: I have had a pet in my home since I was born. The first dog I remember was Ginger, then PJ, then Sparkie, then Jenna and Millie, Anja and Argus, then Bonnie and Clyde, and now we have our very friendly buddy, Gustav. They ranged from a miniature Schnauzer and Jack Russels to Rottweilers and German Shepherds. My closest friend's dad bred and trained German Shepherds while I was in high school. I was surrounded by a pack most of my life and loved it. I owned a local pup friendly pub for 14 years and made it a point to great every dog that came in. I am hoping for the chance to see some of those dogs again! My current schedule is very flexible, so I can focus on the pet's care when they need it. I understand that different pets require different things at different times and I am able and willing to accommodate with a bit of forewarning. I have a fenced in yard and a very friendly 10 month old puppy who loves new company. He and I go for walks around our neighborhood daily and we do outings to the park a few times a week. I have 2 cats that are indifferent to dogs and they have their own separate space so they can be alone if they want. I deep clean the litter boxes at least twice a week and would be happy to do the same for your kitties at your home. (Access to a hose outside is very helpful for this) I have room for crates and pets are not left outside unattended. I am very vigilant about picking up poop and want to keep a clean yard for the pups to play in.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I currently share my home with four rescue pets—two dogs and two cats. One of my dogs is deaf, and both have anxiety, so I’ve learned that patience, consistency, and earning an animal’s trust are far more important than expecting instant affection. Because of my own pets, I’m especially comfortable caring for shy, anxious, rescue, senior, and special-needs animals. I understand the importance of sticking to routines, reading body language, and making each pet feel safe and secure while their family is away. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having someone keep them company, I’ll meet them where they are. I’m attentive to details, comfortable following feeding schedules and medication instructions, and I’ll send plenty of updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are in caring hands. My goal isn’t just to keep your pets safe—it’s to make sure they feel loved, understood, and as comfortable as possible until you’re home again. I work full-time during regular business hours, so I’m available for morning, evening, and weekend visits, as well as overnight stays in your pet’s home on select weekends each month. I keep my availability up to date on Rover, so you’ll always know when I’m available. When I commit to caring for your pets, you can count on me to be dependable, communicative, and respectful of your home’s routine. Because I offer care in your pet’s home, my goal is to keep their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I’ll carefully follow your feeding schedule, medication instructions, exercise routine, and any house rules you have. I understand that every pet has different needs, whether they’re energetic, anxious, senior, or simply creatures of habit. I’ll treat both your home and your pets with the same care and respect I give my own. You’ll receive regular updates and photos, and if I ever notice anything out of the ordinary, I’ll communicate with you right away so you always have peace of mind.
About: I am a former veterinary assistant and have thorough experience with all types of animals (small, large, and exotic). My family and I recently moved to beautiful Palm Harbor with our two amazing children. I have a whole collection of wonderful pet clients from where we used to live, so I’m hoping to meet so many more of you here in Florida! 🌞 🐶 🐈⬛ 🐓 🦎 Animals with special needs such as medications or unique routines are welcomed. One of my favorite parts about pet sitting is experiencing clients' reactions to photos of their pets that I send them while they are away. I know the feeling that pet owners feel when they have to leave their "fur-children" in the hands of someone they don't know, and how scary and stressful that can be. Clients who have experienced this uncertainty about leaving their animals with a new sitter have come home happy, relieved and thankful that they booked with me as their pet sitter. I have my children with me day time hours Monday through Friday until 4pm, so evenings work best for dog walks and drop ins at the moment. However, if you need daytime hours specifically, my children will usually be tagging along with me (they are well-behaved). My family and I are always active doing something outdoors as a family (mostly rain or shine)! I will walk your dogs as long as needed and make sure your pets get plenty of attention when I stop to take care of them.

Christine was great when it came to caring for our pets. She sent lots and lots of pictures and made sure to communicate with us during her drop in visits! She also made sure that our Doberman ate his food while we were away due to the dog getting stressed that his parents are gone. Lots of attention and detail goes into her work and we enjoyed her commitment to our Doberman and cats!

Thank you, Summer, for your punctuality, your attention to detail with her insulin injections and all the pets she gets when you are with her. Greyson just loves you, and it makes my time away stress-free (as far as my fur-buddy goes)! I'll be reaching out again as soon as another excursion is scheduled. 😊

Courtney was phenomenal! We had such detailed notes for Jax, and she flowed them great. She sent constant detailed updates, gave lots and lots of chin rubs and provided the care and relief we needed to be able to go away. It’s scary introducing an 18 year old cat to a new person per the first time and we felt safe and comfortable leaving him in her wonderful care. We will certainly use her services again if we ever get another weekend away.

Debbie watched my cat, Justice, for the 2nd time so far, and she is amazing - she ensured Justice's automatic feeder and water fountain were full and functional, cleaned her litter box, and most importantly, stayed in touch with me each visit. I greatly appreciate how she sends photos and appears to truly care about my cat's wellbeing.

Our cat Jada, got to meet Chelsea when we had to leave town unexpectedly. I am a very protective mom because Jada is not a friendly cat, but Chelsea used her purrsuasion to coax her out from under the bed. It worked marvelously because Jada now has a new adopted mom. Jada loved spending time with Chelsea and I think the feeling was mutual. The photos and videos helped me to feel that we had made a good choice for a pet sitter. Jada met her at the door each visit. Chelsea is a blessing. Do I highly recommend her? YES I SURE DO. Thank you for being there Chelsea when I couldn't.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Palm Harbor. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
