“Summer is the best. Every time we book her for a trip, our dog Arthur gets to be with his best friend playing and taking walks! She's just on another level with her care and commitment 🐾💕”

“Christine was wonderful with Gizmo. Even though it was their first time meeting, he warmed up immediately to her. It was a drop in visit for an hour but when we came home he was playing with her and it almost seemed like he didn’t miss me at all! I’m sure he is looking forward to spending more time and doing some overnights with Christine.”

“This was my first ever experience with hiring a pet sitter and I couldn’t have asked for better with Margot! Extremely dependable and I will not hesitate to have her look after my cat on my next trip.”

About: I have had a pet in my home since I was born. The first dog I remember was Ginger, then PJ, then Sparkie, then Jenna and Millie, Anja and Argus, then Bonnie and Clyde, and now we have our very friendly buddy, Gustav. They ranged from a miniature Schnauzer and Jack Russels to Rottweilers and German Shepherds. My closest friend's dad bred and trained German Shepherds while I was in high school. I was surrounded by a pack most of my life and loved it. I owned a local pup friendly pub for 14 years and made it a point to great every dog that came in. I am hoping for the chance to see some of those dogs again! My current schedule is very flexible, so I can focus on the pet's care when they need it. I understand that different pets require different things at different times and I am able and willing to accommodate with a bit of forewarning. I have a fenced in yard and a very friendly 10 month old puppy who loves new company. He and I go for walks around our neighborhood daily and we do outings to the park a few times a week. I have 2 cats that are indifferent to dogs and they have their own separate space so they can be alone if they want. I deep clean the litter boxes at least twice a week and would be happy to do the same for your kitties at your home. (Access to a hose outside is very helpful for this) I have room for crates and pets are not left outside unattended. I am very vigilant about picking up poop and want to keep a clean yard for the pups to play in.
About: I am a former veterinary assistant and have thorough experience with all types of animals (small, large, and exotic). My family and I recently moved to beautiful Palm Harbor with our two amazing children. I have a whole collection of wonderful pet clients from where we used to live, so I’m hoping to meet so many more of you here in Florida! 🌞 🐶 🐈⬛ 🐓 🦎 Animals with special needs such as medications or unique routines are welcomed. One of my favorite parts about pet sitting is experiencing clients' reactions to photos of their pets that I send them while they are away. I know the feeling that pet owners feel when they have to leave their "fur-children" in the hands of someone they don't know, and how scary and stressful that can be. Clients who have experienced this uncertainty about leaving their animals with a new sitter have come home happy, relieved and thankful that they booked with me as their pet sitter. I have my children with me day time hours Monday through Friday until 4pm, so evenings work best for dog walks and drop ins at the moment. However, if you need daytime hours specifically, my children will usually be tagging along with me (they are well-behaved). My family and I are always active doing something outdoors as a family (mostly rain or shine)! I will walk your dogs as long as needed and make sure your pets get plenty of attention when I stop to take care of them.
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats since I was a child. As an adult, I rescued and trained two dogs of my own and have experience as a professional dog walker and pet sitter. I will love and care for your pets as if they were my own and I will be especially careful to follow any instructions you may have for their care. I am currently working part-time so I am free to visit with and/or walk your pups during the day. I can also check in on your cats or other small pets. I am available for midday visits and walks, and overnight pet sitting. I can also bring in packages, mail, or follow any other special instructions. I will care for your pets as if they were my own.
“This was my first time booking with Alexandra and she will be my new permanent sitter. She sent me so many photos and videos. My cat is so shy and she was stretching around her and she let Alexandra pet her!! She could sense good vibes. :) Very happy cat mom 🩷”

“Alyssa was wonderful to work with. She followed instructions, communicated clearly and often, and really respected my home. My animals really took a liking to her, as did we! I look forward to using her services in the future.”

“Melissa is top notch. Very responsive and very kind. She politely told me she had another pet sitting obligation booked but was able to stop by afterwards which worked even better for me. My boy is older and does not walk stairs real well and she boosted him up the stairs from behind as well. Absolutely everything you hope for when you come on Rover. 5 stars would not be enough. Thank you Melissa!!”
“Claire was very communicative and went the extra miles to make our pups feel loved during her check ins. She was a great dog sitter and we’d recommend her for your furry friends!”

“Thank you again for taking care of Rory. I was totally in awe that he warmed up to you. Most other people just hides from. Loved receiving pictures and updates during the time you were with him. Clearly will be his "person" when we are away!”

“Lydia & Emmett did a wonderful job with both of our girls Lilly and Mia - they gave them all sorts of love and played with them - gave Mia her insulin that she needed. I would definitely have them again soon.”

“Jennifer did a fantastic job caring for my dog while I was out of town. From the moment we connected, she was professional, dependable, and genuinely caring. She kept me updated, made sure my dog was well cared for, and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. When I returned home, my dog was happy, healthy, and clearly comfortable with Jennifer. It’s obvious she truly loves animals and takes her responsibilities seriously. I would highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. I wouldn’t hesitate to have her watch my dog again in the future.”

“This was our first time having Debbie take care of our new kittens and their first time with having a sitter. Everything went so well! Debbie was caring, patient and communicative which I appreciate. She was even able to get our skittish little girl to come out and spend time with her. Thank you for taking such good care of the babies, Debbie. Would definitely recommend!”

“This was the first time Alyssa took care of my cat, and she was awesome! My cat is usually shy around strangers but he took to Alyssa right away. Alyssa went above and beyond to make my cat feel comfortable and loved while also sending me lots of pictures and updates. Would highly recommend!”

About: I live in a 750 SF, apartment in the SouthPark area. I lost my dog a little over a year ago and love the idea of giving other owners peace of mind when they need help taking care of their dogs. I am a big walker with or without a dog and never get tired of throwing a ball or playing with dog toys. My goal is to make sure your pet enjoys their time and you feel comfortable knowing they are being loved. I work from home with a very flexible schedule, so outside of a few meetings I am extremely flexible to align to any schedule needs. For walking, I will never open a door without confirming they are on leash and for stays, I live on a quiet street and have a courtyard so they will be contained and safe at all times. I have a great walking path across the street that I use every day and it is a paved with nature all around it.

Christine came each day booked and took care of Gonzo as my mother was there but unable to do all the care giving. Christine was lovely to work with and made sure to let mom know when she was coming and sent me a picture each day making me feel up to date and that Gonzo was safe!

Alexandra is incredibly professional, friendly, and clearly loves cats. She took amazing care of our cats, gave us total peace of mind while we were away, and treated them with genuine affection and attention. We could tell they were in great hands. We will absolutely ask for her help again next time. ❤️

Courtney was a wonderful caretaker for our two cats for a week while we were traveling. She even got our tortoiseshell scaredy-cat who is nervous about everything, especially strangers, to come out of her shell to get plenty of petting, brushing, and play time. Courtney was very communicative and provided lots of detailed updates with pictures. It was so reassuring to know that our cats were being so well taken care of while we were away, by someone they formed a real bond with. We would absolutely recommend Courtney to anyone looking for an enthusiastic and caring person to watch their pets!

Our cat Jada, got to meet Chelsea when we had to leave town unexpectedly. I am a very protective mom because Jada is not a friendly cat, but Chelsea used her purrsuasion to coax her out from under the bed. It worked marvelously because Jada now has a new adopted mom. Jada loved spending time with Chelsea and I think the feeling was mutual. The photos and videos helped me to feel that we had made a good choice for a pet sitter. Jada met her at the door each visit. Chelsea is a blessing. Do I highly recommend her? YES I SURE DO. Thank you for being there Chelsea when I couldn't.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Palm Harbor. On Rover:

- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
