“Christine took care of our three cats for the week of our wedding! She was wonderful, prompt, and made it so we didn’t have worry about little ones while we were off being present during our wedding week. Will definitely be reaching out to rebook in the future :)”

“Although Summer arrived a little bit later than the agreed upon booking time, she became Arthur's new best friend! She took great care of him and gave him plenty of stimulation. We had huge peace of mind traveling out of state.”

“This was our first time booking with Megan and we don’t regret it! She took great care of our pup and even sent a great update after. We’ll be booking more drop ins with her and even a house sitting!”

“I had a fantastic experience with Adriana! She was punctual, respectful, and incredibly trustworthy, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. My dog, Shirley, can be a bit particular, but she absolutely loves Adriana—which says a lot! It’s clear she has a natural way with animals, and I appreciated how attentive and caring she was. She followed all instructions perfectly, and I never had to worry about Shirley’s safety or happiness. I will definitely be booking her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitter!”

About: I worked at a dog daycare as a Canine Coach and Lead for almost two years, where I cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and energy levels in a fast-paced environment. I also have over 15 years of personal pet care experience, so being around animals has always been a big part of my life. As a USF student with an active lifestyle, I enjoy keeping dogs engaged through walks, playtime, and attention while also making sure they feel safe and comfortable. I’m patient, dependable, and attentive to each dog’s individual needs, whether that means helping energetic puppies burn off energy or giving older dogs a calmer, more relaxed experience. I understand how important trust and communication are when leaving your pet with someone, and I always treat every dog like my own. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine, especially over summer break while I’m home from USF. I have a flexible schedule and enjoy staying active, so dog walking, playtime, and spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy doing throughout the week. I do have a few trips planned during the summer, but I always keep my calendar updated and only accept bookings when I know I can fully dedicate my time and attention to each pet. Reliability and communication are very important to me, and I want pet owners to feel confident their dogs are in good hands. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment while keeping the pet’s normal routine as consistent as possible. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, crate routines, or any special care needs. I have experience working with dogs of different sizes, breeds, personalities, and energy levels from my time working at a dog daycare, so I understand the importance of patience, supervision, and reading animal behavior. I also believe communication and trust are extremely important, so I make sure owners stay updated with messages and photos so they can feel confident their pets are being well cared for while they’re away.

“Margot took wonderful care of our two cats while we were away. Her updates and photos were great, the feeding and litter box areas were clean, and the cats were happy and relaxed when we got home.”

About: I am a former veterinary assistant and have thorough experience with all types of animals (small, large, and exotic). My family and I recently moved to beautiful Palm Harbor with our two amazing children. I have a whole collection of wonderful pet clients from where we used to live, so I’m hoping to meet so many more of you here in Florida! 🌞 🐶 🐈⬛ 🐓 🦎 Animals with special needs such as medications or unique routines are welcomed. One of my favorite parts about pet sitting is experiencing clients' reactions to photos of their pets that I send them while they are away. I know the feeling that pet owners feel when they have to leave their "fur-children" in the hands of someone they don't know, and how scary and stressful that can be. Clients who have experienced this uncertainty about leaving their animals with a new sitter have come home happy, relieved and thankful that they booked with me as their pet sitter. I have my children with me day time hours Monday through Friday until 4pm, so evenings work best for dog walks and drop ins at the moment. However, if you need daytime hours specifically, my children will usually be tagging along with me (they are well-behaved). My family and I are always active doing something outdoors as a family (mostly rain or shine)! I will walk your dogs as long as needed and make sure your pets get plenty of attention when I stop to take care of them.
About: I have had a pet in my home since I was born. The first dog I remember was Ginger, then PJ, then Sparkie, then Jenna and Millie, Anja and Argus, then Bonnie and Clyde, and now we have our very friendly buddy, Gustav. They ranged from a miniature Schnauzer and Jack Russels to Rottweilers and German Shepherds. My closest friend's dad bred and trained German Shepherds while I was in high school. I was surrounded by a pack most of my life and loved it. I owned a local pup friendly pub for 14 years and made it a point to great every dog that came in. I am hoping for the chance to see some of those dogs again! My current schedule is very flexible, so I can focus on the pet's care when they need it. I understand that different pets require different things at different times and I am able and willing to accommodate with a bit of forewarning. I have a fenced in yard and a very friendly 10 month old puppy who loves new company. He and I go for walks around our neighborhood daily and we do outings to the park a few times a week. I have 2 cats that are indifferent to dogs and they have their own separate space so they can be alone if they want. I deep clean the litter boxes at least twice a week and would be happy to do the same for your kitties at your home. (Access to a hose outside is very helpful for this) I have room for crates and pets are not left outside unattended. I am very vigilant about picking up poop and want to keep a clean yard for the pups to play in.
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats since I was a child. As an adult, I rescued and trained two dogs of my own and have experience as a professional dog walker and pet sitter. I will love and care for your pets as if they were my own and I will be especially careful to follow any instructions you may have for their care. I am currently working part-time so I am free to visit with and/or walk your pups during the day. I can also check in on your cats or other small pets. I am available for midday visits and walks, and overnight pet sitting. I can also bring in packages, mail, or follow any other special instructions. I will care for your pets as if they were my own.
“Prompt every visit. Detailed notes and lots of pictures. My cats were very welcoming of her. Followed instructions to the letter. Will definitely use Alex again.”

“Alyssa was wonderful to work with. She followed instructions, communicated clearly and often, and really respected my home. My animals really took a liking to her, as did we! I look forward to using her services in the future.”

“Melissa is top notch. Very responsive and very kind. She politely told me she had another pet sitting obligation booked but was able to stop by afterwards which worked even better for me. My boy is older and does not walk stairs real well and she boosted him up the stairs from behind as well. Absolutely everything you hope for when you come on Rover. 5 stars would not be enough. Thank you Melissa!!”
“Claire was very communicative and went the extra miles to make our pups feel loved during her check ins. She was a great dog sitter and we’d recommend her for your furry friends!”

“Great first time visiting and my dog is very nervous and difficult to get to know. Bianca did an excellent job and was able to figure out how to get him to go outside and do his business 😊 Thanks You!!”

About: I have had dogs all of my life, and genuinely love the companionship they bring to my home. I have a rescue dog, Remi, who is an Australian Cattle Dog mix and a Jack Russell mix named Henry. I take the dogs on regular walks and have a fenced yard. I have experience with big, small, pups, and seniors, and breeds ranging from pugs to pit bulls. I am skilled in oral medication, doggy first aid, and can assist in continuing basic training while you are away. I have the flexibility to work from home and can come home for lunch if I need to be in the office on a given day. We have a fenced yard and both Remi and Henry are friendly pups that love to play. I always like to take the dogs on at least one walk a day.
“We have had Debbie watch our 4 cats several times before, she does a fantastic job. She is very conscientious, she makes sure each animal is safe and healthy, takes care of all their needs to include scooping the boxes. She sends us an update and pictures everyday. I highly recommend Debbie and will definitely ask her to watch our fur babies again.”

“We booked Lydia and Emmitt for last minute drop-in visits for our almost 16 year old mini schnauzer. They were punctual and friendly when they came to meet him a few days before our trip. They were on time for all the visits, spent some time with him, made sure he went out and had food/water, and sent us a nice report with lots of great pictures. Thank you for taking good care of our little old man!”

Alexandra is incredibly professional, friendly, and clearly loves cats. She took amazing care of our cats, gave us total peace of mind while we were away, and treated them with genuine affection and attention. We could tell they were in great hands. We will absolutely ask for her help again next time. ❤️

Jennifer did a fantastic job caring for my dog while I was out of town. From the moment we connected, she was professional, dependable, and genuinely caring. She kept me updated, made sure my dog was well cared for, and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. When I returned home, my dog was happy, healthy, and clearly comfortable with Jennifer. It’s obvious she truly loves animals and takes her responsibilities seriously. I would highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. I wouldn’t hesitate to have her watch my dog again in the future.

Courtney was a wonderful caretaker for our two cats for a week while we were traveling. She even got our tortoiseshell scaredy-cat who is nervous about everything, especially strangers, to come out of her shell to get plenty of petting, brushing, and play time. Courtney was very communicative and provided lots of detailed updates with pictures. It was so reassuring to know that our cats were being so well taken care of while we were away, by someone they formed a real bond with. We would absolutely recommend Courtney to anyone looking for an enthusiastic and caring person to watch their pets!

Our cat Jada, got to meet Chelsea when we had to leave town unexpectedly. I am a very protective mom because Jada is not a friendly cat, but Chelsea used her purrsuasion to coax her out from under the bed. It worked marvelously because Jada now has a new adopted mom. Jada loved spending time with Chelsea and I think the feeling was mutual. The photos and videos helped me to feel that we had made a good choice for a pet sitter. Jada met her at the door each visit. Chelsea is a blessing. Do I highly recommend her? YES I SURE DO. Thank you for being there Chelsea when I couldn't.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Palm Harbor. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
