“I needed a last minute sitter and Elizabeth came through. My dogs looked happy when I came home and I was able to enjoy my evening knowing my dogs were well cared for. Highly recommend.”

“Christine was wonderful with Gizmo. Even though it was their first time meeting, he warmed up immediately to her. It was a drop in visit for an hour but when we came home he was playing with her and it almost seemed like he didn’t miss me at all! I’m sure he is looking forward to spending more time and doing some overnights with Christine.”

“Mia was great with our two big dogs. She is punctual and cares for your furry family member with love. Great communication and sends photos and videos so you know your babies are having fun!”
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats since I was a child. As an adult, I rescued and trained two dogs of my own and have experience as a professional dog walker and pet sitter. I will love and care for your pets as if they were my own and I will be especially careful to follow any instructions you may have for their care. I am currently working part-time so I am free to visit with and/or walk your pups during the day. I can also check in on your cats or other small pets. I am available for midday visits and walks, and overnight pet sitting. I can also bring in packages, mail, or follow any other special instructions. I will care for your pets as if they were my own.
“Although Summer arrived a little bit later than the agreed upon booking time, she became Arthur's new best friend! She took great care of him and gave him plenty of stimulation. We had huge peace of mind traveling out of state.”

“Claire was amazing! She was very sweet and professional when taking care of my 2 huskies! She provided feedback and pictures when she let them out! She is highly dependable and we will 100% use her again!!! Thank you Claire for taking care of my crazy fluffballs!!!”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I currently share my home with four rescue pets—two dogs and two cats. One of my dogs is deaf, and both have anxiety, so I’ve learned that patience, consistency, and earning an animal’s trust are far more important than expecting instant affection. Because of my own pets, I’m especially comfortable caring for shy, anxious, rescue, senior, and special-needs animals. I understand the importance of sticking to routines, reading body language, and making each pet feel safe and secure while their family is away. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having someone keep them company, I’ll meet them where they are. I’m attentive to details, comfortable following feeding schedules and medication instructions, and I’ll send plenty of updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are in caring hands. My goal isn’t just to keep your pets safe—it’s to make sure they feel loved, understood, and as comfortable as possible until you’re home again. I work full-time during regular business hours, so I’m available for morning, evening, and weekend visits, as well as overnight stays in your pet’s home on select weekends each month. I keep my availability up to date on Rover, so you’ll always know when I’m available. When I commit to caring for your pets, you can count on me to be dependable, communicative, and respectful of your home’s routine. Because I offer care in your pet’s home, my goal is to keep their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I’ll carefully follow your feeding schedule, medication instructions, exercise routine, and any house rules you have. I understand that every pet has different needs, whether they’re energetic, anxious, senior, or simply creatures of habit. I’ll treat both your home and your pets with the same care and respect I give my own. You’ll receive regular updates and photos, and if I ever notice anything out of the ordinary, I’ll communicate with you right away so you always have peace of mind.

About: I've been caring for dogs since I was a child, and my love for animals has only grown over the years. In August 2023, I welcomed two cats into my family, which has given me firsthand experience caring for both dogs and cats and understanding their unique personalities and needs. Over the years, I've helped neighbors, friends, and family by caring for their beloved pets while they were away. Whether it's feeding, playtime, walks, or simply keeping them company, I treat every pet as if they were my own. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and understand that they often need extra patience, compassion, and attention. I'm comfortable administering medication, assisting with mobility, and providing specialized care, including changing diapers when needed. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while maintaining the routines they're familiar with. When it comes to walks, I'm happy to get outside no matter the weather. Rain or shine, hot or cold, I'm committed to making sure your dog gets the exercise, enrichment, and attention they need. As a non-smoker with a flexible schedule, I'm able to accommodate a variety of care needs and provide dependable, attentive service. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a member of your family, and I take that responsibility seriously. I'll care for your pets as if they were my own and keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I am currently not working, so this would be my full-time job! I am extremely flexible and am able to move things around in my schedule to fit your needs. Happy to work around your schedule! At this time, I provide care exclusively in my clients' homes through house sitting and drop-in visits. I believe many pets feel happiest and most comfortable in their familiar environment, where they can stick to their normal routines and experience less stress while you're away. My priority is always your pet's safety, comfort, and well-being. I carefully follow any instructions you provide, including feeding schedules, medication routines, exercise needs, and household rules. I'm comfortable crating dogs when needed, administering medications, cleaning litter boxes, and providing any additional care your pet requires. Whether your dog enjoys multiple walks throughout the day, your cat loves interactive playtime, or your senior pet needs a little extra patience and attention, I'm happy to tailor my care to their individual needs. I'll make sure they receive plenty of love, exercise, enrichment, and companionship while maintaining the routine they're used to. I also understand that inviting someone into your home requires a great deal of trust. I treat every home with the same respect and care that I would my own. You can count on me to be dependable, communicate regularly, and send photo and message updates so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is simple: to provide a safe, calm, and loving experience for your pet while giving you complete peace of mind during your time away.
“Alex is wonderful to our two cats. She goes above and beyond, making them a toy and leaving a bowl of water out when power outages are a possibility (electric water fountain). Frees our minds from worry when we are away. Our repeat go to sitter.”

“Debbie went above and beyond! Very reliable and a great communicator! We were confident our fur babies were in great hands when she was watching them. Even our shy cat loved her!!”

“Jennifer did a fantastic job caring for my dog while I was out of town. From the moment we connected, she was professional, dependable, and genuinely caring. She kept me updated, made sure my dog was well cared for, and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. When I returned home, my dog was happy, healthy, and clearly comfortable with Jennifer. It’s obvious she truly loves animals and takes her responsibilities seriously. I would highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. I wouldn’t hesitate to have her watch my dog again in the future.”

“As a Rover sitter myself, I wanted to make sure I chose someone who would treat my kitties as well as I would. I have a hard time trusting someone with my pets, because they are literally my kids. Megan was wonderful! Communicative and reliable. She gave my babies lots of attention, pets, and play time while we were away. We definitely hope to use her again!??”

“Alyssa was wonderful to work with. She followed instructions, communicated clearly and often, and really respected my home. My animals really took a liking to her, as did we! I look forward to using her services in the future.”

About: Hi, I’m Morgan. I’m a reliable pet sitter and dog walker who enjoys caring for animals and keeping their routines consistent and stress-free. I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes and personalities and provide walks, drop-ins, and basic care as needed. I keep communication clear and will send updates so you know how your pet is doing while they’re with me. Looking forward to meeting some great pets! I am currently working part time as a server, I have flexible availability and can always make something work to take care of a pet Unfortunately my house is currently unavailable to watch pets. I can take care of your pet at home by feeding them, letting them out and crating them if preferred.
“Fabulous. Simply fabulous. Everyone was happy, healthy, and well cared for. Even the blind cats took to Sam. She is very good to everyone in the pack we have here, and a pleasure to talk to. Will definitely use her again if possible.”

“I had a fantastic experience with Adriana! She was punctual, respectful, and incredibly trustworthy, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. My dog, Shirley, can be a bit particular, but she absolutely loves Adriana—which says a lot! It’s clear she has a natural way with animals, and I appreciated how attentive and caring she was. She followed all instructions perfectly, and I never had to worry about Shirley’s safety or happiness. I will definitely be booking her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitter!”

About: I am a former veterinary assistant and have thorough experience with all types of animals (small, large, and exotic). My family and I recently moved to beautiful Palm Harbor with our two amazing children. I have a whole collection of wonderful pet clients from where we used to live, so I’m hoping to meet so many more of you here in Florida! 🌞 🐶 🐈⬛ 🐓 🦎 Animals with special needs such as medications or unique routines are welcomed. One of my favorite parts about pet sitting is experiencing clients' reactions to photos of their pets that I send them while they are away. I know the feeling that pet owners feel when they have to leave their "fur-children" in the hands of someone they don't know, and how scary and stressful that can be. Clients who have experienced this uncertainty about leaving their animals with a new sitter have come home happy, relieved and thankful that they booked with me as their pet sitter. I have my children with me day time hours Monday through Friday until 4pm, so evenings work best for dog walks and drop ins at the moment. However, if you need daytime hours specifically, my children will usually be tagging along with me (they are well-behaved). My family and I are always active doing something outdoors as a family (mostly rain or shine)! I will walk your dogs as long as needed and make sure your pets get plenty of attention when I stop to take care of them.
About: I have had a pet in my home since I was born. The first dog I remember was Ginger, then PJ, then Sparkie, then Jenna and Millie, Anja and Argus, then Bonnie and Clyde, and now we have our very friendly buddy, Gustav. They ranged from a miniature Schnauzer and Jack Russels to Rottweilers and German Shepherds. My closest friend's dad bred and trained German Shepherds while I was in high school. I was surrounded by a pack most of my life and loved it. I owned a local pup friendly pub for 14 years and made it a point to great every dog that came in. I am hoping for the chance to see some of those dogs again! My current schedule is very flexible, so I can focus on the pet's care when they need it. I understand that different pets require different things at different times and I am able and willing to accommodate with a bit of forewarning. I have a fenced in yard and a very friendly 10 month old puppy who loves new company. He and I go for walks around our neighborhood daily and we do outings to the park a few times a week. I have 2 cats that are indifferent to dogs and they have their own separate space so they can be alone if they want. I deep clean the litter boxes at least twice a week and would be happy to do the same for your kitties at your home. (Access to a hose outside is very helpful for this) I have room for crates and pets are not left outside unattended. I am very vigilant about picking up poop and want to keep a clean yard for the pups to play in.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Palm Harbor
Courtney was phenomenal! We had such detailed notes for Jax, and she flowed them great. She sent constant detailed updates, gave lots and lots of chin rubs and provided the care and relief we needed to be able to go away. It’s scary introducing an 18 year old cat to a new person per the first time and we felt safe and comfortable leaving him in her wonderful care. We will certainly use her services again if we ever get another weekend away.

Summer was wonderful with both my dog Layla and Cat Chester! Everyday she left a little note of how my pets were doing and lots of pictures! It gave me such comfort to know my babies were in good hands! Will be using her again to do drop in visits. Thank you again Summer!

Brookelynn was fantastic! It was my first time using rover and I am so happy that I found her. She came over to meet us and our cats prior to the visits and was very attentive. She asked questions, followed the instructions that I left and was very responsive. I felt at ease and knew that she would provide the best care for our cats. Highly recommend her! She is the best.

Debbie watched my cat, Justice, for the 2nd time so far, and she is amazing - she ensured Justice's automatic feeder and water fountain were full and functional, cleaned her litter box, and most importantly, stayed in touch with me each visit. I greatly appreciate how she sends photos and appears to truly care about my cat's wellbeing.

Amanda was wonderful! She came by twice today to check on and walk Novi while we were at the beach all day, and it gave us such peace of mind knowing Novi was in great hands. We absolutely love her, and Novi does too! We’re so grateful for how dependable, caring, and sweet she is. Highly recommend!

Our cat Jada, got to meet Chelsea when we had to leave town unexpectedly. I am a very protective mom because Jada is not a friendly cat, but Chelsea used her purrsuasion to coax her out from under the bed. It worked marvelously because Jada now has a new adopted mom. Jada loved spending time with Chelsea and I think the feeling was mutual. The photos and videos helped me to feel that we had made a good choice for a pet sitter. Jada met her at the door each visit. Chelsea is a blessing. Do I highly recommend her? YES I SURE DO. Thank you for being there Chelsea when I couldn't.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Palm Harbor. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
