“This was my first time using a dog walker, and it was a great experience! She was reliable, professional, and took wonderful care of my dog. Communication was excellent, and I felt completely comfortable knowing my pet was in good hands. We would definitely recommend her and will happily use her services again.”

About: I have had a pet in my home since I was born. The first dog I remember was Ginger, then PJ, then Sparkie, then Jenna and Millie, Anja and Argus, then Bonnie and Clyde, and now we have our very friendly buddy, Gustav. They ranged from a miniature Schnauzer and Jack Russels to Rottweilers and German Shepherds. My closest friend's dad bred and trained German Shepherds while I was in high school. I was surrounded by a pack most of my life and loved it. I owned a local pup friendly pub for 14 years and made it a point to great every dog that came in. I am hoping for the chance to see some of those dogs again! My current schedule is very flexible, so I can focus on the pet's care when they need it. I understand that different pets require different things at different times and I am able and willing to accommodate with a bit of forewarning. I have a fenced in yard and a very friendly 10 month old puppy who loves new company. He and I go for walks around our neighborhood daily and we do outings to the park a few times a week. I have 2 cats that are indifferent to dogs and they have their own separate space so they can be alone if they want. I deep clean the litter boxes at least twice a week and would be happy to do the same for your kitties at your home. (Access to a hose outside is very helpful for this) I have room for crates and pets are not left outside unattended. I am very vigilant about picking up poop and want to keep a clean yard for the pups to play in.

“Rebecca is a star. My little ones love her. Atila gets lots of pets, a pee break and a walk. Nori always pees and poops, enjoys the walk and showers Rebecca with kisses.”

About: What I bring to every walk is simple — I genuinely care. I’ve spent years pet sitting for friends, family, and neighbors, which means I’ve been trusted with all kinds of dogs in all kinds of situations. That experience taught me how to read a dog’s mood, keep them calm and comfortable, and give owners real peace of mind while they’re away. I’m not just someone who shows up and holds a leash. I pay attention to your dog as an individual — their pace, their quirks, what makes them feel safe. Every pup deserves to feel like they’re in good hands, and that’s exactly what I aim for. I am in real estate so my day consists of a lot of driving around and computer work so I have time to spend with your animals. When I come to your home, my goal is to keep everything as normal as possible for your pet. I stick to their routine — feeding schedules, walks, playtime — because familiar structure is what keeps them happy and relaxed while you’re away. I treat your home and your pet with the same respect I’d want for my own. That means no shortcuts, honest updates, and plenty of attention for your dog throughout my visit. I’ll always leave things just as I found them, and I make sure your pup feels loved and comfortable the whole time.
“Jillian is amazing! My boys love her… even the one who can be standoffish warmed up quickly to her. She’s incredibly reliable and thorough in providing updates on walks. I’m super grateful she’s available to take care of my pups and highly recommend her for any pet care! She’s awesome!”

About: I live in a 750 SF, apartment in the SouthPark area. I lost my dog a little over a year ago and love the idea of giving other owners peace of mind when they need help taking care of their dogs. I am a big walker with or without a dog and never get tired of throwing a ball or playing with dog toys. My goal is to make sure your pet enjoys their time and you feel comfortable knowing they are being loved. I work from home with a very flexible schedule, so outside of a few meetings I am extremely flexible to align to any schedule needs. For walking, I will never open a door without confirming they are on leash and for stays, I live on a quiet street and have a courtyard so they will be contained and safe at all times. I have a great walking path across the street that I use every day and it is a paved with nature all around it.
About: I have always had a pet my entire life. As a child, our family always had a cat. As an adult, I have never been without a cat or two and a dog in our family home. I retired from teaching music in 2022. I started walking dogs at two different animal shelters (one in Upper Michigan and one in Palm Harbor). My most favorite childhood Christmas memory was the year I got a kitten for Christmas. We returned from Christmas Eve service to my grandparents home. Waiting for me was an adorable gray kitten with a pink bow. I named him Flower. He was my very first pet. I have a heart full of love for cats and dogs. I know leaving your fur babies can be very stressful. I'm here to make that less stressful for you. I look forward to meeting you. I'm retired. I have plenty of time in my schedule to stop by and see your fur baby when you can't be around. While I have a few things on my schedule each week, I'm mostly free and can be very accommodating. I am available to come to your home and look in on your pet. I can feed/water, play, walk, give lots of pets, and love your fur baby when you're not available.
“Lydia is everything you want when you look for someone to watch your dog. She is patient, on time, respectful, and responsible. She never gives us any problems and is always reliable. We appreciate the care she takes of our dog. Highly recommend.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
