“I was very nervous about having to leave my senior chaweeni for a few nights. Kelsie was so wonderful and eased my anxiety. She took very good care of Koda, sent me pictures and updates on how he was doing. I will definitely call on her again in the future!”

“Anabelle took a good care of Bear (male cat) over the last two weeks through her daily visits. She made sure Bear got everything he needed. I loved getting Ana's daily updates and photos of Bear—it really gave me peace of mind. Thank you, Ana. I appreciate you.”

About: I've had pets since I was born. Cats and dogs of all shapes, sizes, and age. I've spent the last 14 years with my soul dog. He was a Golden/Lab/St. Bernard with a lot of anxiety and a huge love of food. In his old age he had mobility problems, incontinence, was on several medications, and needed as much attention as I could give him. I am fully prepared to give any animal I meet the same level of love and care. I've been the main care provider for my dogs for the last 14 years and always put their needs before mine. Taking them potty is the first thing I do in the morning and the last thing I do at night. Furry friends rely on us for care and I want to make sure they are doing great. When I care for pets in your home I will follow your instructions to a T. Make sure they get lots of love, cuddles (if they like them), and attention.

About: I grew up in an animal-loving environment, and I have been a cat-mom since 2016. I love to spoil my babies and I want to spoil yours too! I worked in vet-med for a short time, and I have lots of experience with cats and dogs of all ages and sizes. I'm particularly skilled in befriending anxious cats and dogs. I have experience in giving oral medication, administering eye/ear drops, and trimming cat claws. I'm currently available 7 days a week and my schedule is very flexible. I have lots of time to dedicate to caring for your pet. I enjoy walking daily, and I really enjoy playing with dogs and cats of all ages and sizes. My husband and I have two black cats at home, and we treasure them dearly. They get a lot of attention, play time, treats, and snuggles. I am comfortable spending time with your pet in your home, feeding them per your directions, giving any necessary medications, and taking them out for walks/exercise. I can drive your dog to a park or dog park, if desired. I will happily give your pet snuggles and scritches if they want them, but I also respect every animal's personal boundaries. I pay close attention to behaviors and body language that tell me if they feel safe and what kind of attention they want.
“Tara did a great job dropping in to take care of my kitty while I was away! She sent lots of picture updates and my shy kitty even came out to play with her. I came home to bowls of clean water and fresh food. I will definitely use Tara again when I'm going out of town and can't take my fur baby with me.”

“Justine did a great job with our cat. She listened to our needs and routine with our cat. Was friendly and easy to connect with. Lambert warmed up to her immediately. We felt very confident with who we chose while we were away on our trip. I will 100% use Justine again.”

“Rosa did a wonderful job again! She has been gaining the trust of my not so trusting cat and is very respectful of her boundaries. My cat now runs up to greet Rosa and allows pets. My elderly mother who lives in the house is also very fond of Rosa and feels very comfortable having her here. Rosa sends pictures and videos during her visits which helps me feel confident that my cat is being well taken care of. I would definitely continue to book with her and encourage others to do so. She is a very kind and thoughtful caregiver.”

About: Hi! My name is Chelsea and I have loved dogs my whole life. My family had a bichon frisé when I was growing up, and I have adopted two of my own dogs in the last few years. One was a senior rescue and the other is a 3 year old rescue. Because of this, I do have experience working with senior dogs and administering medication to dogs. I have 15 years of experience caring for both dogs and cats. I primarily conduct my pet sitting services through another pet care app (not sure if I can list the name on here since it might be a competitor of Rover!) and I have nearly 200 5-star reviews on that app. At the moment, I am between full-time jobs, so pet care has become my full-time role for the time being! I primarily conduct my pet care services through another app (I am not sure if I can list the name here since it might be a competitor of Rover!) and I have nearly 200 5-star reviews on that app. There are several dogs that I walk on a weekly basis, but I still have room in my schedule to take on additional walks and sittings! When offering boarding, I make sure to keep my dog separate from the dog(s) I am boarding. She is super friendly but I like to be safe just in case and make sure everyone has their own space!
“Alysha did such an amazing job with my little one! This was my first time booking a petsitter so I was pretty nervous going into it, but after meeting with her and seeing how quick my cat felt comfortable with her, I knew it was the right choice! She sent updates through every visit, and went above and beyond to make sure Koe was okay. I absolutely would book her again!”

No problem we'll arrange for my wife to present instead. We work together for you! After the passing of our dog we wanted to start Rover in memory of our Chewy we have 2 Cats and 1 small Senior Dog that would be isolated in our master bedroom to give your family member the space and attention they deserve! We can work all hours. My wife and I have very open availability to make any schedule work! Let us know what you would like! We have an apartment, with spare bedrooms, experience with puppies, kittens, sick animals, and special needs animals. (: If you want someone that knows what they're doing we're here for you!

About: I am an experienced pet sitter and a true animal lover :) I have provided caring and compassionate pet care for the cats and dogs of my friends, family members and neighbors for several years. Previously, I have worked for a dog-walking agency and have received formal First Aid training in pet care. My work schedule varies day to day, which means our schedule will depend on the day and the service being provided. When I am working from home, I am able to provide frequent potty breaks, tons of play time and scheduled feedings as requested by the humans! If you and pup are interested in long walks and/or outside time, we will make it happen! If your dog is more chill and laid-back, I can provide attentive and gentle care, and relaxation time. I am happy to crate your puppy/dog if requested. For cat owners, I am very cautious moving in and out of an individual’s home - I know from experience that sometimes they try to sneak out the door to explore! I believe a primary component of building trust with a client is consistent communication, so I prioritize keeping owners updated with photos and check-ins throughout the day.
About: Hi, I’m Becca! I have over 10 years experience in professional pet care, over 5 years experience as a veterinary assistant, and I’m a certified pet groomer. I have one dog and 6 perfectly spoiled cats. I’d be honored to care for your fur babies. I’m a stay at home mom looking to make some money while doing what I love— spending time with animals. My 10 month old baby girl is my assistant and partner in crime, so she will tag along with us on walks and check ins. As long as you don’t mind my little nugget tagging along, I’m pretty open and available to tend to your pets’ needs. I am more than happy to care for your animals in your home, take them for leashed walks, check in late nights, early mornings and in between.

About: I treat every pet like they’re my own, so I focus on giving them personalized attention based on their personality, routine, and needs. I’m very patient and gentle, which helps especially with shy, anxious, or younger pets who need time to warm up. I’m comfortable with basic training for puppies, like reinforcing commands, potty routines, and good behavior, and I stay consistent so they don’t get confused. I’m also attentive to detail, so I notice small changes in behavior, appetite, or energy levels this is especially important for senior pets who may need extra care, slower walks, or medication reminders. I make sure pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while keeping owners updated with messages and photos, so you always know your pet is in good hands. “Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I make it a priority to plan my schedule around the pets I’m caring for. I’m able to provide consistent check-ins, feeding times, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I’m flexible with mornings, afternoons, and evenings, and I make sure pets stick to their normal routine so they feel comfortable and secure. I’m also reliable with communication, so I can send regular updates, photos, and respond quickly to any messages. Whether it’s daily visits or extended care, I make sure each pet gets the time, attention, and consistency they deserve. I always focus on creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for every pet, whether I’m in my home or a client’s home. I follow each pet’s routine closely—feeding schedules, litter box cleaning, playtime, and any specific instructions—so they feel secure and experience as little stress as possible. In a client’s home, I respect their space and keep everything clean and organized while making sure their pet gets plenty of attention, care, and supervision. I’m mindful of safety at all times, like keeping doors and windows secure and making sure pets stay in safe areas. I’m also attentive to each pet’s behavior and needs, especially if they’re shy, anxious, or require extra patience. If needed, I can follow special instructions like administering basic medications or accommodating senior pets. I stay in communication with owners through regular updates and photos so they feel confident and at ease while they’re away.

About: I’ve cared for animals of all ages, sizes, and personalities, and I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines. As a teacher, patience, reliability, and attention to detail are part of who I am, and I bring those same qualities to every pet I care for. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, quiet companionship, or extra patience, I’m happy to tailor my care to help them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in caring, dependable hands. As a full-time special education teacher, providing a safe, supportive, and dependable environment is at the heart of what I do every day. My schedule allows me to offer pet care before and after work, on evenings, weekends, holidays, and during school breaks. Caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I love spending my free time going on walks, playing, and giving pets the attention and companionship they deserve. When caring for pets in their own home, my goal is to keep their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I’ll follow your instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any special routines that help your pet feel comfortable. I make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and exercise while also respecting your home by keeping it clean, secure, and just as you left it. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away.
About: I've had dogs my whole life. I love to take them on walks, play fetch, and run around with them. Also, I own a cat. I am able to scoop their litter box, make sure they have food and water, as well as play with them. I've had big dogs with high energy so I am well experienced with long play times to keep dogs happy. I generally work Monday to Fridays and can stop by before and after work to take care of your loved ones. Weekends I am free! When caring for your pets I double check that they have all of their needs met, plenty of food and water. I can clean up after both dogs and cats and make sure nothing is out that they shouldn't be getting in to.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - North Springfield
Kelsie is a truly kind and intuitive cat caregiver. My senior cranky lady usually hides from strangers at first, but she came right up to Kelsie and they were instant friends. Kelsie is reliable and a joy to work with. She made my old lady very happy while I was away.

Tara is the only person I trust taking care of my pets! She is so great with the animals (dogs just feel when a genuine person is taking care of them!) She is always on time, a great communicator, and makes sure to always go the extra mile to make sure my animals are well cared for. She has been great for short check ins, over night visits, long stays and always goes above and beyond! Thank you again, Tara for being the best pet sitter!!!

Julia took such good care of our cats. She was available for a fairly last minute need which we couldn’t have been more grateful for. We’d definitely have her come back!! She gave us great check ins, was very responsive, and sent us such cute photos of our cats while we were away. Highly recommend her.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
