She showed in all her communication with me that she understood Guinness’s needs through his body language and was respectful of his boundaries (however long they lasted, apparently he got pretty cuddly!). About: I grew up in a pet family of 2 dogs and 2 cats and love all furry creatures, both anxious and relaxed! I love keeping consistency in training schedules, feeding schedules & routines. I am an EMT and outdoor professional. I understand animal empathy and the need for companionship, so connection with animals is an important part of my work. I also have a dog of my own who loves all animals and is a gentle spirit. I work full-time and have a pup of my own and he’s very good with other dogs. Scheduling can be worked out on a case by case basis! I like to keep dogs in their own safe space at their home or in their routines- whether that's walks or runs. There's a fenced in backyard at my place if the dog needs to stay the night, and I always consider their needs before my own.

I’m in the process of moving back to Eugene after a long absence, and while house sitting this week, needed someone to watch my dog Everett for a few hours while I ran some errands. It’s been nonstop travel/driving/boxes all summer and was concerned that Ev would be freaked out by yet another change in scenery…but it was instantly clear during the meet and greet that Ruthie’s house, coupled with her training and experience, would make for an excellent home-away-from-home environment. She walked us through her space, asked great questions about Ev’s personality and needs, and left me feeling totally confident that Ev’s visit would go perfectly. And it did— Ev was relaxed and in a great mood when I picked him up, and I got some great pics of his day. I knew he would be in great hands and look forward to bringing him back!”

In my home, I make sure the environment is clean, pet-friendly, and free from hazards. I keep a consistent routine with feeding, potty breaks, and playtime so pets feel comfortable and secure. In a client’s home, I always respect their space and follow their instructions closely, from feeding schedules to favorite walking routes, to keep things as familiar as possible for their pet. I also send regular photo and text updates so pet parents have peace of mind knowing their furry loved one is happy and safe.

“This was my first time leaving my pup with someone new, so naturally I was a little nervous—but they totally put my mind at ease! They were super attentive with my little spoiled brat (and I say that with love 😄). He was always wagging his butt and happy to go back, which says it all. I really appreciated how they noticed he was picky with food—he wouldn’t eat there, but they still checked in and made sure I knew. He had plenty of playtime and always came home happy and tired, which is a win in my book! I didn’t want him going on walks because of his reactivity to cars, and they totally respected that—he got plenty of backyard play instead. Bonus points for being flexible with my chaotic work schedule. Highly recommend! 🐾”
