“Kelsie was an absolute dream to work with! Kelsie did weekly drop-in visits for me for 6+ months. My very shy and nervous dog loved her and I never had any concerns for his safety or happiness when he was in her care. She is communicative, flexible, and exceptionally trustworthy. I would highly recommend Kelsie to care for your fur babies!”

“Sonia is fantastic! She’s very professional and always on time. She takes such wonderful care of our dog (he’s always so excited to see her!) and she sends daily updates and pictures, which we absolutely love! We will definitely rebook with Sonia for future needs!”

About: What sets me apart as a sitter is how attentive and patient I am with animals. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and comfort level so they feel safe and relaxed while their owner is away. I’m very reliable, detail-oriented, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m especially gentle with nervous or shy pets and make sure they get plenty of reassurance, exercise, and affection at their own pace. I’m comfortable following specific feeding schedules, administering basic care as instructed, and keeping owners updated with messages and photos so they have peace of mind. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel happy, cared for, and loved in a calm, positive environment. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine. I attend college on Mondays and Wednesdays, am mostly home and available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and available Fridays until the evening. I work short weekend shifts but remain flexible for pet care before and after work. I live in an apartment with two cats and maintain a calm, clean, and safe environment. I carefully follow feeding, exercise, and medication instructions, give pets plenty of attention, and adjust care based on their comfort level. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their routines, keep spaces tidy, and provide updates so owners feel confident their pets are well cared for.
“Julia is amazing! I felt very comfortable with her taking care of my dog and cats. She sent me updates and pictures on every visit and I definitely appreciated that. She is the best and I strongly recommend her! ❤️”

“So so so glad that we can rely on Kristine over and over again to care for our pets whenever we ask. No one makes it so easy and stress free as Kristine. Thanks for always being so great to my family and for all the times you’ve gone above and beyond for us!”

About: I have been caring for animals my entire life, having grown up with pets. My experience includes daily care, feeding, exercise, grooming, and companionship for both dogs and cats, which are my primary areas of expertise. In addition, I have hands-on experience caring for farm animals, such as horses. Animals have always been a passion of mine. Growing up, my dream was to own a no-kill animal shelter, and that passion continues to guide the way I care for every animal I meet. I am patient, dependable, attentive to animals needs, and committed to providing them with a safe, loving, and comfortable environment. I’m currently working part-time, which gives me lots of extra free time and flexibility. I am also a college student at Lane Community College and as we are on summer break I have so much extra time on my hands. I care for pets by knowing the clients environment and understanding what makes the pet feel the most comfortable. Being able to read and assess how the pet is feeling is a huge part of my service. My main goal is to leave you with zero doubt when trusting me with the care of your pet.
About: Hello! My name is Kyle, I'm 29 years old, and I've loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I've lived with dogs on and off since I was 6 years old, and I have done occasional pet sitting for friends and family. The highlight of my trips visiting family is always running around the yard with their dogs. Though I have less experience with cats, I currently live with 4 and love them almost as much as dogs. I am eager to gain more experience with a wider variety of cats and dogs, and I hope I get the opportunity to spend time with your furry friends! I am physically fit and have plenty of energy to walk and play with them. I would like to work with pets full-time. Currently, my only job is gig work, so I am available just about anytime for walks and drop-ins. Although I prefer to not work before 10am, I am willing to make an exception for the right client. For pet/home sitting, I will need to leave for 2-4 hours at a time during the day for gig work (food delivery, dog walking, drop-in pet visits), but can then return to your home for potty breaks and short walks. I can provide longer walks in the mornings and evenings, as well as plenty of play time. If you have cats, I will clean litter boxes at least once every day, and more often if needed. I will take care of your pet according to your instructions. I have lots of experience entering and exiting doors without letting eager pets escape, and I am strong enough to hold on to a large dog's leash. As an additional safety measure, I will use a waist-mounted leash during walks, so there is no risk of my grip slipping from the leash.
“It was a quick and simple visit, but Caitlin went above and beyond to take care of my kitties. She spent time with them and even sent me pictures of them eating their food. Top notch sitter!”

“Mia was on time, followed instructions and cats immediately greeted her upon their first meet and greet who was a👍from the cats and important to me.She also graciously offered to water hanging plants which I greatly appreciated. No complaints would hire her again. Thank you Mia love❤️ from Bentley and Simba 🐯🐈⬛”

“Monique was great! Our kitties are very shy and they warmed up to her after a couple days. It was nice to see them not hiding and enjoy the company. Would use again”

“Hayden was amazing, adaptable, and an excellent cat companion. She sent plenty of pictures, and detailed reports about my sometimes fussy kitties. I was nervous hiring a sitter (first time!) but Hayden assuaged all those fears with her attention to detail and caring attitude for, and about, my little beasties. I will absolutely be booking Hayden again when I need someone to sit for me.”

“Heather has done drop-ins for our dog Hachi (180 lb Great Dane), and has always been great. We feel comfortable with her coming by our apartment and making sure he gets a potty break and has food/water available. Heather has also been flexible with last minute changes and requests, which is something that’s extremely helpful when things don’t always go according to plan. I am leaving this review after our second booking, but I know we’ll be reaching out again for future drop-ins. We’re very pleased with her services and recommend her! Thank you Heather.”

“Excellent! Trinity was very caring and I am impressed with her level of understanding, responsibility and compassion. She allowed me to enjoy my trip plus my cat loved her attention.”

About: I have done many types of care giving. In addition to pet care, this includes elder care and hospice care. Attentiveness and being attuned to the emotional connection and body language is essential in sharing in care. I am working part time two or three days a week but due to an injury am looking to do less physically taxing work. With my current availability, returning to pet care sounds in alignment with my schedule and life. I think about how much love and care I would want given to my cats, and I give that much to others. Often, some pets experience some stress and duress when away from their people, and so being a safe, loving, calm and playful person is the main goal. My main values as I enter others space is the comfort of the pet, respect of the owners and their home, and being attuned to the animals needs.
About: Hi, I'm Madeline! I'm always active taking my dogs for long walks and hikes, or to the local dog parks. I'm a lifelong dog lover, and proud dog mom. While I’m new to Rover, I bring years of trusted experience walking and sitting dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages from playful 8-week-old puppies to wise 13-year-old seniors. The dogs I'm carrying in the photos have been family to me since they were pups, and ones I've had the pleasure of looking out for. Friends and family have relied on me time and time again, one even called me a dog whisperer after watching me connect with their strong-willed pointer mix! I’ve studied basic training techniques through a puppy obedience course, guidance from a professional trainer, and good ol' YouTube. These tools help me better understand each dog’s energy and needs, whether they’re high-reactive adventurers or mellow cuddlebugs. My goal is always to make your dog feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you're away. Let’s set up a meet-and-greet because I’d love to connect with you and your pup! Whether your pet needs regular daily walks, last-minute check-ins, or extended sitting while you're out of town, I’m here to help. My open availability means I can easily accommodate your pet’s routine and make sure they get consistent care and attention. I've had the pleasure of dog sitting and walking for close friends and family, always making sure to follow any specific instructions provided. Since summer days can get especially hot, I’m always prepared by carrying a bag with essentials like water, a bowl, treats, poop bags, and a frisbee. For my dogs, if the pavement is too hot (I always check with the back of my hand), they wear protective boots to prevent burns, and if you're dog has some little booties, I'll make sure their paws stay protected and take frequent shade breaks. On those extra hot days when it’s safer to stay indoors, I make sure my dogs still get their energy out with games, enrichment toys, and fun training tricks. I love keeping things playful while prioritizing safety and well-being.
About: I’m a veterinary technician with 15+ years of pet-sitting experience across the globe, caring for everything from dogs and cats to birds, reptiles, and other exotics. I’m confident handling special needs pets, administering medications, and am CPR-trained. I bring both professional skill and genuine compassion to every animal I look after. My goal is to ensure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m currently self-employed and have plenty of time to love and care for your pets! I am happy to work around your usual routine and availability. I care for pets right in their own home, where they feel safest and most comfortable. I stick closely to their usual routines, keep things calm and familiar, and make sure they get plenty of attention and care. I’m tidy, clean, and respectful of your space, so you can come home to happy pets and a home just as you left it.

“Emily's cat-sitting services exceeded my expectations. At the meet and greet she asked for vet info in case of an emergency and asked about my cat's health so she could monitor for any issues. She was extremely warm, kind, and compassionate. She deeply cared for my cat and texted while she was here to let me know how the check-in was going and ask questions. We are thrilled to recommend Emily to others and looking forward to having her as our long-term sitter. Thank you Emily for your impeccable service and care!”

Karina was absolutely amazing with my cat, Korra! From the very beginning, she was kind, reliable, and clearly cared about making sure Korra felt safe and comfortable. She sent great updates and plenty of pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious that Korra loved her and was in great hands the entire time. Karina went above and beyond, and I’m so grateful for the care and attention she gave my cat. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, thoughtful, and wonderful with pets. I’d happily book with her again!

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Springfield stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Springfield. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
